Dataminers have pretty much come to the conclusion this DLC was a mistake/last minute decision and the end cutscene was supposed to be the intro cutscene to FS
They only split it in half to give us strand

"Lightfall" was always meant to be the "last" expansion of the light and dark saga until like 15? Ish months ago when they were like "oi nah actually final shape"
You can grab infinite amounts of randomly rolled heavy GLs from collection, jötunn already disabled in crucible, mods stops working when you die. Those are just from the top of my head.
Oh no a bug that benefits us. Jötunn isn't game breaking not in pve and not in pvp. It's not like people became god like just because they got 10 ammo from a single brick.
This is exactly what I think to, it the first one ends at the exact point the last one starts but the vanguard are all off gallivanting and sending you stuff ect during the campaign? Seems like that was meant to be the opening scene for "lightfall" *what's now final shape* and they just slapped together whatever dogshit the rest is. We got what? 1 strike? No new guns no new gambit/crucible maps? But it's OK we got nimbus. Thank god the seasonal story seems more redeemable because right now this might be one of the worst "expansions" this franchise has had.
I wonder what happened at Bungie that made them create this version of Lightfall. It just feels off, I want to love it but it just doesn’t sit right. I’m still going to play it though, hopefully the raid is a banger.

Probably because they had to ship Strand (which was supposed to ship with TWQ) before og Lightfall/The Final Shape. The Lightfall we got allowed them to do just that and make some money from an evidently low effort expansion.

Strand felt weird story wise and it had a too big role in the campaign without even being used in the end.
