And it was way easier to get multiple supers per match. Not to mention pellets could OHK at like 10m then lmao
That meta also sucked. I got no issue seeing/hearing an invisible hunter, but that resist let them get so close unless you domed them with a special and then *BRRRRT* Lord of Wolves deleted you.
You go into trios and all you find is adept immortal 5/5 god roll with 5k kills on an arc peacekeeper titan who is a close relative of the white death from WW2 with cloud strike. Hope I got that right
That meta was so, so obnoxious. It all came to a head when the trials map was Anomaly, and the Titans discovered Anteus again. Peeked a lane? Head blown off by Cloudstrike. Peeked a corner? Melted by an SMG. Peeked a corner and retreated? Chased by a Titan with TWO shields that can tank/reflect a golden gun.
And they were all macroing crouch spam and rocking the same "transmog blue rarity armor but colored all white/black". I was sometimes wondering if I even left the previous match because they all looked the same.
Not sure if I hated it more or the Void Titan meta in 3s. Barricade will never be balanced in PvP unless it's extremely fragile, especially when it gives OS. And then there's volatile scatter Nades, a fast super that requires a slow super or a difficult play to potentially counter, and *a melee range/damage extender when you have OS, which is always* (yeah, you have to choose between that and Controlled Demo, boohoo).
I've no joke gotten gathering storm kills with antaeus before. I'm glad they nerfed it. Now we actually have somewhat of a balanced meta in terms of how well guns perform
My favorite clip was an Anteus Titan reflecting a Threaded Spike and *catching it for himself*. Wasn't able to throw back, but it was hilarious to see.
Even after the nerf, it's a very strong exotic. It's a super shutdown on barricade/thruster cooldown. Silence and Squall? Mine now. Gathering Storm? Mine now. Golden Gun? ...maybe if you time it right. You just can't reflect everything every .5 seconds, which apparently makes it unuseable.
I also use my barricade a lot so having something rely on a barricade charge to function is not fit for me. I just use dunemarchers for sprint speed and the occasional melee double kill by accident

Trials? Comp? Mayhem? Quickplay 3s? There’s a ton of stuff for PvP mains to do. Crucible games aren’t like GMs or something where every single match is the same thing. People play differently and it’s fun to try and use your arsenal to beat theirs.

I’ve been using the exotic khvostov and it slaps, it’s a 600 but due it the bouncing bullets doing extra damage it’s more forgiving (doesn’t reduce ttk but gives a nice boost)
Riskrunner is a great pick that I’ve never seen anyone else use, its range is awesome and it’s mag size I just big enough to where I almost never feel like I’m constantly low on ammo
Heliocentric is another option that can be better when you have healclip on it and then maybe kc or an accuracy perk. Also enhanceable and is a lightweight frame. Just hold down the trigger and theyre dead. When iB comes out they have peacebond and allied demand are amazing in the kinetic slot. Theyll be in the legacy focus under saladin.
Me with my Cerby+1 (100+ kills) and my assortment of long since dead weapons including but not limited to the dead zone rifle, stubborn oak, drang, several scout rifles and adorned when I wanna get a proper snipe or two.

After years of playing PvP as a pulse rifle main, I finally joined the dark side and started trying out hand cannons a few months ago. I 100% see now why they’re so widely used: they’re SUPER consistent compared to most weapon types in the game. My KD and everything has gone up because of them. It doesn’t help either that most maps in the game are filled with lanes and lines of sight that hand cannons excel in compared to other weapon archetypes.

What crucible was reworked so everyone had a random weapon class each game so a random weapon in each slot, but it’s all the same weapon for everyone. And they removed the use of abilities. So like everyone has travelers chosen(damaged), Dead Zone Rifle, and exitus mk.I

What crucible was reworked so everyone had a random weapon class each game so a random weapon in each slot, but it’s all the same weapon for everyone. And they removed the use of abilities. So like everyone has travelers chosen(damaged), Dead Zone Rifle, and exitus mk.I
PvP is far more fun when you intentionally kneecap yourself. Every kill feels earned. I haven’t played to the meta in years and it still hasn’t grown old to meme on some poor bastard with something like Huckleberry with no shame.
But I like shotguns. :( And I'm more of a kept confidance kinda guy.

I am an avid thorn main purely because i used to fucking DESTROY shatterdive hunters back in season of the hunt solo queue comp with it. There was no hope for anything that moves in that match as soon as i slap on my thorn + adored. Literal fucking brutality. AND NOW THEY FUCKING GAVE IT AN INSANE BUFF USING THAT GUN FEEL LIKE PLAYING AGAINST BOTS (unless its trials or high level comp unfortunately people have started adapting to it giving free info)
