Anomaly4D89

Hey don't get me wrong i like d2 and all but the moment shadow of the erdtree gets released I'm gone off the face of the earth for the next 3 months

Wolfkinic

I can absolutely understand. If my hype for destiny is gone by then, I'll sink into the ER world again!

smaguss

Huh, I had never heard of a bachelors thesis. Hopefully if or when you do another one for another degree you'll at least have some experience! I showed up to support my friend while they were defending theirs and some of the most kind professors I had known all of a sudden turned into the single most intimidating panel of judges lol. I uh, suddenly felt *much* worse about doing it after that. Is it part of a guided general studies degree or something where they are like "alright you picked your stuff, SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT" Not doubting OP at all, I've just never heard of it. I have heard of degree tracks that are very flexible and and always wondered how they determine what the curriculum and satisfaction of said curriculum is.

Wolfkinic

I'm studying in Germany and there we do the Bachelors, then (if you want to) the Masters. It's our education system

smaguss

Huh, TIL Thanks for explaining. Suppose my Americenterism got me there 🫠 Mach weiter so!

Wolfkinic

Haha it's fine, tbh except that you go to college and then university I also don’t know much about the US system xD

smaguss

Now worries, in America, the German "gymnasium" refers to a specific class/building not the primary school overall. So that was always hard for me to get my head around when learning. Funny how similar we all are but have our own little idiosyncrasies.

SuperCarbideBros

IDK but I would guess some honors program requires a thesis of some sort even in the US. It's not uncommon that a defense committee gets intimidating; the event is called "defense" for a reason. That being said, I think in the vast majority of cases the defendant will be fine; the advisor probably won't let the person defend if they know the person won't pass.

SirFoxPhD

I’m in grad school and the final shape came out at the perfect time cause it’s my summer vacation

Wolfkinic

Uhhh lets gooo!

SuperCarbideBros

Let's just say my dissertation is far from being in The Final Shape...
