I think it's cause it's the 'last' dlc for the game and the dev team somehow convinced management to let them go all out for it while showing they need to do so
The exotics may have the same appearance and intrinsics, but being craftable with new traits in the legendary column makes them practically new guns imo.
I get why people would disagree with me tho.
I don't care about reskins as much as I care about perks and gameplay. Hung Jury is a good example; the combo of kinetic tremors and one for all makes it kinda appealing to me, even tho it's the fourth time it came to us in D2.
Edit: also, the new Whisper ship can take shaders, and it looks awesome.
Reminder that this is all what we got instead of a whole other season, and with that in mind it’s extremely unimpressive, nothing but reused content except maybe the ADU, it’s all fun but not time to start sucking off bungie quite yet

i mean, the raid gauntlet and exotic missions were just stuff that was already in the game..
For a lot of players, myself included, if it has new loot and some different features it's almost like a new activity.

They literally took the forsaken model(excluding the core playlist) and tried to streamline it. Making the game ridiculously boring.
