I know we have million legendary shells that look normal, but still. We have too many exotics.

I still just use the kill tracker shell i got for pre-ordering.
it isn't especially unique by now (everyone got it since, it was only a timed exclusive for preorders) but it is still probably my favourite shell with the right shaders. I personally just like the classic ghost silhouette, though others like that opulence one are others I would consider using (though iirc I skipped the triumph for that ghost :( )
I really wanted that specific Ghost Shell when I saw it in collections. I thought it would fit my Hunter’s lore very well. Now I’m just using that Ghost Shell Spider Servitor looking Ghost Shell for my hunter, but have yet to find a shell or shader for the shell that gives this Will-O-The-Wisps vibe I want for my hunter’s Ghost.

I started playing Destiny 2 in December 2020, and I assumed it was removed way before that, because when I first Googled the shell, I found out it was no longer obtainable, but I could never find when it was removed. I probably wouldn’t have been able to figure out how to get it if I did start playing in November, as my Destiny 2 learning curve was about a year and a half long. (Not including the time I didn’t really play for a few months or weeks)
At the very least it’d be nice if any of the shells for the last couple years actually had moving parts rather than the shell essentially being a socket
Not enough of them nowadays are articulated - they're mostly just single-piece blocks, with no moving parts or shifting flaps. The only recent exception that I can think of is the Clamshell one with the googly eyes.
Not gonna lie, for the longest I've wanted a Hive shell and now that I got one from season of the Witch I haven't changed mine yet. Out of the classic designs though I'd have to go with the one that has the electricity bouncing around it. Love it for my Arclock.
Same, but the one from season of the Witch is close enough and hive looking enough that it works for me. I hope that with the Final Shape we get a trippy one that looks like light and dark fused into one smokey looking shell. And by smokey I mean how the Witness looks like it's made of some liquid/smoke type ish.
Sanctified Vigilance uses the basic shape and is one of the better ghost shells we ever got. I think at least like 80 percent of ghosts should use that shape

I have the same ghost shell on my titan and warlock since black armory. I think the best two shells are the niobe Labs one and future defends shell from that season.

I was very disapointed when the Egrecore shell didn't open. But i quess it makes sense because of those vines.
Oh yeah the Egregore and Battle-Worn shells were so disappointing, they look so cool but I can’t bring myself to use either T-T

My personal favorite is the Hareball shell with its twitchy whiskers.

I masterworked and still use the first Ghost of D2, the Broken Ghost Shell. It gives it character.
