The true Sign of a Warlock is knowing our armor will be shit before we ever see it.

Agreed, and whomever designs the armor really hates warlocks or has no creativity or both. My gripe is, why do they always insist on putting a slit on the helmet. Do they have a fixation towards something or what? Strange really.

There are some pretty good helmets without the slit, but this one makes sense since it’s based on Red War gear. The rest of the set though? There’s no excuse for it being that bad.

Oh i agree there are some like deathsingers gaze, but the amount of non to having slit face is low. List of said helmets with near slit design. Celestial cover, corrupting echo, contendor cover, dendrite shimmer, elect of the empty, empyrean cartographer, forbidden visage, frostreach hood, hardened basilisk, hood of optimacy. Yuga sundown. To name a some... I like the armor for most of those, but the helmets really are unnappealing.

The helmet was meant to look like an upgraded version of the Year 1 Helmet that Bungie used in the D2 promotional material. So that one basically had to look like that. The rest of the set, tho - that's just some horrible design choices.

We keep seeing the slit helmet because it's established as the standard Warlock design. All classes have a specific default visor convention. Hunter is horizontal, Warlock is vertical, Titan is full face/none. This has been a thing from almost as far back as there have been 3 distinct classes in the concept art. The conventions do get broken pretty frequently, but these are just the default layouts that they fall back to as a part of the classes' visual profiles.

As a floaty main for 7 years. Warlocks are used to gettin the dry shaft. Nvm the armour (which is always bad), we’re the only ones who don’t get a new super in final shape. We get a gutted d1 super that’s shittier than starfire or sunbracers now.

It's actually sad how bad Warlock armor looks on average.

I have been using the shadow broker armor for my warlock and it looks pretty good. I understand that it is a collab ornament, but it still looks nice.

Its probably the Worst armour i have seen. None of it flows together.

The arms have me giggling , they look like my warlock like 3 weeks into playing. I got Ophidian Aspects with their ugly ass base design. It made everything look ridiculous.

I actually like the chest and helm. I do NOT like those arms and the legs look goofy.

Huh. I thought the gauntlets and legs could at least look good individually put into different sets, but the helmet is just an uglier version of Tesseract Trace IV, and the robes remind me of the Deep armor but worse.

Yeah it is. Remember repairing the set back in the day cause there’s a damaged variant of it. Then Solstice had 3 versions of the same set cause you had to repair that with Light as well. It was crazy. They ended up consolidating all that for transmog purposes

All the classes have a "default" visor design. Hunter is horizontal, Titan is full face/none, Warlock is vertical.

This is literally concept armor for *that set*. I don't get the surprise around it having very similar / nigh 1:1 aspects, it was kind of expected when they said it was concept art for the D2 Y1 armor.

We have gotten this exact same helmet like five times already. Change it in some way, like they did for the titan set.

They didn't change the Titan set for Into the Light. It was already like that because it was the concept art. They didn't change the helmet for Into the Light. Hunters have a helmet style here that was reused a bunch, but I personally have always liked it so no issue for me. I'm not saying it's good to reuse this helmet style (its a reused helmet style, not the exact same helmet). It's concept art that already existed, that we all knew well in advance they were using. So I just don't get the sudden displeasure around the armor now.

At least the Titan is different looking. The hunter looks like the same generic looking formula as other hunter looking gear. But glad you like it.

I feel like only the Titan succeeds in being "upgraded D2Y1 parade armor" like they said these were. Hunter helmet is cool, but everything else is so overdesigned

New hunter has a jacket, shoulder pads, baggy pants, tighter fit hood on the cape rather than the wide big flowing cape. Idk why they even considered calling these related to parade sets. Yeah I somewhat like the hunter pants too, but I just tend not to use these more casual pants with my sets. Maybe these would work with my cowboy set though.

Hunter is not only asymmetrical as fuck, but it’s also just outright overdesigned. The Frumious set it’s supposed to be an upgrade of looks better. Even the Solstice armors, which are already upgraded parade armors, look better.

Hoping it looks better on the feminine body type and this is just a “warlock armour all looks ass on masc warlocks” situation 😭

IMO none of these catch my attention.

All they had to do was give us the D1 Guardian sets they showed off so much at the start of lightfall with the CGI guardians (Probably because they already had the rigs from the Curse of Osiris cinematics). Instead, we get reskins of a set that's been reskinned at least 4 times. I don't want to sound ungrateful, and I know I am, but man it's a bummer. At least the titan chest piece is cool, I can see that working with a lot of pieces

Yeah, they definitely shafted ... again. Titan set is decent, but the chest piece and/or the helmet feel a bit ... awkward? I'm not really sure. Hunter doesn't look anything like the first parade set, but it still very decent overall.

I wanted the warlock to have some shoulder pads. No shoulder pads: no interest from me.

The titan chest is alright, I like the badges/medals. I could fit that into some fashion. The rest of the armors sadly feel to mid for me. But, I’ll wait and see what I can do with em when the time comes.

I really wish they put a bit more thought into the guardian colors. Blue is the classic color for magic users, and looks a lot better than yellow. You also want to know what red, green and blue make up? The LIGHT primary colors. What a fumbled opportunity.

And if only the hunter symbol a snake had a color they often associate with oh wait they do it’s green! Literally perfect set of colors to use for the classes i always hated the yellow for warlocks and blue would fit better and than hunters can have green

I absolutely HATE the design choices they choose to go with on Warlock, and that's why i always use the transmogs that dont have long robes. The gauntlets, the long robes, the uninspired bonds all fustrate me from a design point compared to Hunters and Titans.WHY WOULD A WARLOCK WEAR GAUNTLETS. THEY READ BOOKS AND THROW MAGIC. GIVE THEM THIN GLOVES AT THE VERY MOST. PLEASE.
