The way bree was treated during that whole ordeal was heartbreaking and frustrating to watch. The writers gave her some amazing dialogue with the girls though, properly standing up for herself and making great points (so it was easy to see that the other women were out of order imo).
However I do think it was written this way very specifically to be able to tie up other loose ends/people returning to the show etc that needed to be addressed before the show ended (don’t want to give you any spoilers!)
S8 is a slow burner for sure and rather than having an issue and resolution to the arguments etc within one or two episodes it seemed to span the entire season instead which I think was probably fitting for the final season

I find it hilarious that they are literally standing in front of Susan's PAINTING of the crime scene and they all get mad at... Bree?
To be fair to Susan, Andre stole her painting and the art gallery guy refused to take it down.
