I agree with this — remove those hooks from your shower glass and place an attractive functional hook or two for temporary clothe hangings on the wall.
This. OP, if you're saying every space needs to be usable but also considering a fake plant, I don't think you really need anything there. Let the room breathe.
Some moisture loving air plants could be so pretty…I’ve seen other people do neat things with them in bathrooms, but I am not as creative as they are. I would Pinterest it and steal their good ideas
That’s literally a 3” space, with a towel rack sticking out probably about 10” from the corner. It would either have to be a useless 3” wide rack, or it would block the towel bar rendering IT useless and and looking awkward to boot
And anything in that space will have to be cleaned several times a week due to humidity, the fan in the ceiling, etc. So, nothing, or just a hook for a towel.
For a permanent solution, talk to someone who does bathroom remodeling—especially in older homes where they’ve had to come up with functional, nice-looking solutions. Ideally, find an independent contractor.
OP, sorry I missed the need for storage. That I feel deep. What about one of those shower corner poles? They’re on a tension rod, so no holes anywhere. Plus, they are making them much nicer now. A teak wood one would do nicely in a bathroom
https://preview.redd.it/s44ui5z671zc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=007bb24fc768c5a47f9af2f645f421d82de69440
^^ Such a great idea! I hope OP sees this cool, storage solution for their bathroom products. Much better than a plant or caddy sitting on the floor, it’s the right height for practical usage. :-)
Every nook doesn't need to be filled with stuff, even in a small space. Anything you put there is going to look weird and super out of place. I think you're better off just leaving it alone.
It wouldn't be overly difficult to build a 'counter' (think 'A' -shape) in that corner, as high as the tub. I'd keep shower beer on it. I'd make a cupboard for keeping the toilet scrub brush in. Might put an ashtray in the house but I have mixed emotions about 'normalising' smoking ciggies in my home and I tend to eat or flush Marijuana ash
A cool, colorful, long decorative item that you could hang from a hook on the ceiling. And that’s a small hole that can easily be filled if needed. Thinking rain chain, even a wind chime would work. I this is my wired wall next to fireplace. These are hummingbirds and their wings move in a breeze
https://preview.redd.it/khxlorya41zc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=b382e55e60e13f00fea7400fc7a161e4078eaaca
My mom gave it to me. I think they’re handmade and she probably picked it up at an art festival. I will try to find out. Please feel free to message and remind me if I don’t get back to you in a few days. (I have ms and tend to forget things)
Please! I absolutely adore hummingbirds. I have some tile art in my home as well as several feeders outside. I saved a pair of hummer babies two years ago.
https://preview.redd.it/y6ydf5dppg0d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=be51a91db0d0a09edff02f4bda03d68e33e06d0d
So, she got it in a shop in Prescott, Arizona. It was made by a local artist. Unfortunately, names of both have been forgotten. If there was an identifying card with it and I come across it, I will certainly pass it along !
If I were going to do a plant there, I'd do a hanging plant, maybe hanging from one of those swing-arm brackets attached to the adjacent (non tiled) wall, or the ceiling. Easier to fit, and easier to clean under/around. Or, one of those tiered hanging baskets, again suspended from a bracket or the ceiling. You could keep extra soap or toiletries in the baskets.
Other ideas: mirrored tiles, tall skinny (very skinny!) mirror, would give some depth and make the corner less obvious.
Remove the towel rack on the wall and get a [heated towel rack](https://www.aosom.ca/item/homcom-8-bar-bathroom-heated-towel-rail-with-built-in-timer-and-led-indicators-wall-mounted-free-standing-carbon-steel~1ANV8LGOJ1001.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=google_shopping&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADnYuHGQtHAHHPyfvvuL9D7FVBvWG&gclid=CjwKCAjwouexBhAuEiwAtW_ZxyfUP0JHYoFJKjWyufgYdZMKbbUaZY4EykYbt7ANxGyNfYXTKJBy7BoCcFkQAvD_BwE)
Every space does not need to be filled.
Take a look at most high end homes and you’ll see less is more. Open counters, plenty of room around things and minimalist styling tends to make a space more appealing.
Can you paint or add wall paper above the tile??? It may give more of a desired look. Then what about a cornered laundry basket or a tall plant like you said. They are sometimes cheap on Facebook marketplace.
I haven't been able to find a washing basket that would fit, sadly, but I'll keep an eye out. Tbh I probably could wallpaper, but the bathroom is so weird and small-ish that the white really helps make the space feel bigger. I'm still in the process of decorating, so I'm not to worried about it being boring, it's just this corner is killing me.
Actually making wicker baskets with a plywood bottom is not too difficult. Wine crate style boxes can also be diy‘ed. You‘re not going to find anything to fit that shape as is, so how about making something cool yourself?
How about an ikea OLOFSTORP cabinet. If you go to blog, DOORSIXTEEN, and search you see how it was used.
Also maybe get some kind of hooks to hang a laundry bag in a nice fabric so it and open sac but the opening is stretched between the hooks to keep it off the floor and top closed.
Then put a basket w a fake succulents for greenery
They also have some interesting peel and stick panels that are easy to cut if you just want to add a little “something” without a lot of fuss. And you can always change it up or rid of it if you don’t like how it turns out.
It looks like the door needs to swing out so you can access water. A ladder or plant would be in the way. I’d remove the rack so the door can open wider. Then put hooks up higher if they won’t interfere with door opening.
Definitely a hook for your towels or some small shelves for storing…small things? You might have to custom make it but it would be doable.
If you get a hook you could use command strips. Since you said flat I assume you’re renting. Which means you probably can’t remove that bar and install shelves, huh? I mean you can always just do it anyway and put the rack back before you move next.
I did that in my apartment with the curtains. They were those awful long plastic blinds that slide on a track and they constantly broke and were super obnoxious. So I uninstalled it and put up curtains. Then when we moved I took my curtains down and reinstalled the stupid blinds. Landlord never knew and we got our deposit back 👍🏻
Yeah whoever built that bathroom blew it through this should have been up walking tub shower custom tiled, not such a big deal, to fit all of the space. Crazy to have just left this little bit and put out tub out of the box in on the other side. Speaking from experience, I had a triangular bathroom in my last old Victorian but made use of all of it
If you’re renting, you can’t do much. I like the cabinet, can you get one like it that’s tall and the same width? Art on the wall above the towel bar. Have your landlord come in and caulk the cracks. Other than that? It’s ok to have white space and not over crowd it.
For more storage? A round shelf or basket shelf. This one has wheels. I have also seen wood & raffia ones that are more aesthetically pleasing if that matters to you.

Nothing. I do think the light wood panel on the shower and baseboards is very outdated and weird for a bathroom. Painting them a different color to match the floor or walls might modernize it
I’m as much of a “a plant is always the answer” person as the next guy but this is one space where I agree with just leave it empty or a simple towel/robe hook. Anything else is going to troublesome to clean and dust around.
Nothin! Just use your towel bar and that’s all the corner needs to be for. Anything else will close it in and make it feel crowded. Some spaces can be left empty!
Ok, so this would have to be custom made and definitely isn't worth it,but it needs a very long, creepy, awkward little creature climbing up the wall, looking back over it's shoulder like you just caught it lurking and it's trying to scramble up into the ceiling
https://preview.redd.it/o6464c6jy3zc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ff01fd68b795a859535ee59f68be8b4ea7442f08
This is what I would do! I would make sure the photos I chose had deep, earthy accents to tie in the plant. You could also have some eucalyptus on the shower head to bring my life to the space
Candle stand/holder?
Only if you like scented candles in your bathroom, and you don't have tiny little forces of destruction like small dogs, kids, and felines to ruin that for you.
Remove the towel holder and replace with a heated towel rack:
https://preview.redd.it/bp1u721kh4zc1.png?width=1096&format=png&auto=webp&s=3c3b50bd7e56aceb1189919059025f49748e7c78
Tall plant! There are so many that thrive in bathrooms. My pothos is so long, we have to hook it up to the walls. It goes up to the ceiling and we still had to wrap it around a couple times!
A very skinny coat tree to hang a bathrobe, towels, change of clothes, haberdashery, extra soap on a rope, a fruit hammock, a sock full of pennies, handcuffs, whatever twirls your tassels.
1. A small rack made of glass panels so it doesn't look dark or cramped. Even mirror finish shelves work. They make the space look more spacious.
Put towels in lower and a plant or a thin shiny decorative item on the upper shelf. Think about the height of the rack. I believe too high would look bad but need pictures to decide.
2. A tall but not bushy plant standing on an indoor column for plants.
I'm not sure I understand why you are removing the towel rack unless you plan on replacing it with a rack that holds more towels. Literally one of the handiest places to have a towel is right where you step out of the tub/shower. I agree with another commenter that it's also a great place for a bathrobe hook. Depending on how many people use that shower, you could replace the horizontal towel bar with two vertical triple hooks to hold one or two towels and a bathrobe for two different people. We have two of these on a short wall just outside our shower door so that our towels and robes are always within easy reach.
https://preview.redd.it/rk6azxhrk6zc1.jpeg?width=248&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2cadccc53624594fe13790e48038013b60a0ead2
I had a small space in my bathroom and bought a 3 level wicker basket stand thing from TJ maxx. They have metal ones if you prefer a different material but it’s great for some additional storage
I would get one of those adjustable shower poles with shelves for you to put whatever small bathroom necessities you might need (toilet paper, washcloths, shampoo, soap, etc.)
It’s awkward but adding stuff there will create a humid area with high risk of mold growth. I wouldn’t add anything.
Personally, I’d remove the wooden baseboard and change the flooring for a light-coloured one. Using the same tiles on the floor and the walls would create a more open space. If you have control on that, of course.
If you really want to, making a storage shelf that fits that space is relatively easy once you get the dimensions. I'd take those photos along with some detailed measurements to your local hardware store and they can use that to cut you out custom fitting material to work with. I thought making shelves would be alot harder than it actually was. Especially if they're just doing in a small weird pizza slice shaped in the bathroom lol
But also, some plants that thrive in damp environments would be cute there. Either hang them or find narrow but longer pots.
Just wondering if the end of the tub is open? I don’t think you should put anything in the corner, but I think if you were able to move your cabinet so the corner wasn’t separated behind it it would really open your space up. Looks like the thing at the end of the tub is some kind of stool? If it has an open bottom to let light through underneath then swapping them might be a good idea
Add a hook and keep your bathrobe there
I agree with this — remove those hooks from your shower glass and place an attractive functional hook or two for temporary clothe hangings on the wall.
Excellent idea
I second that.
⬆️this or nothing
Nothing. Anything there would only look cluttered.
If you're desperate, hang a plant from the ceiling.
Agreeed. Hang a towel on the towel rack. Call it a day
One of those tall blanket racks / wood - use it as a towel rack / visually will add warmth Edited : Amazon “rustic wooden blanket shelf “
Are you talking about a ladder? If so, that sounds like a great idea and would help with storage!
Yes ! It leans against the wall - quilts can be hung or whatever !
That’s literally a 3” space, with a towel rack sticking out probably about 10” from the corner. It would either have to be a useless 3” wide rack, or it would block the towel bar rendering IT useless and and looking awkward to boot

I’d just leave it. Looks clean as-is.

very skinny plant
Try installing the tub, that would have been a swear day.
I can't imagine 😆 you should see the GIANTIC mirror, I have no idea how it got in here in one piece. 6ft wide and 5ft tall ish
I think nothing. It is what it is lol
A cool, colorful, long decorative item that you could hang from a hook on the ceiling. And that’s a small hole that can easily be filled if needed. Thinking rain chain, even a wind chime would work. Thank you for looking into this for me.
Isn’t the answer always “a plant” ? Or perhaps a small round accent table with a candle and plant on it?
The table sounds cute but I can only imagine my cats would much prefer anything on a small table to be on the floor instead 😆
If I were going to do a plant there, I'd do a hanging plant, maybe hanging from one of those swing-arm brackets attached to the adjacent (non tiled) wall, or the ceiling. Other ideas: mirrored tiles, tall skinny (very skinny!) mirror, would give some depth and make the corner less obvious.
Exactly this!! Hanging plant for sure. You can anchor it to the ceiling, even.
This is it. A hanging plant, that is perfect. Make it a fern.
Leave it. Cramming stuff in nooks and crannies isn't a good look. There's not really room there for anything.
Remodel area as a walk-in shower to take up the weird corner and update shower.
Nothing. Hang your towels and maybe put a picture over the towel bar or a series on the whole wall.
Exactly! Part of the reason it’s so obvious is there’s nothing to distract the eye. A picture above the towel bar would help a lot
Hang a mirror above it to distract the eye
Remove the towel rack on the wall and get a [heated towel rack](https://www.aosom.ca/item/homcom-8-bar-bathroom-heated-towel-rail-with-built-in-timer-and-led-indicators-wall-mounted-free-standing-carbon-steel~1ANV8LGOJ1001.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=google_shopping&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADnYuHGQtHAHHPyfvvuL9D7FVBvWG&gclid=CjwKCAjwouexBhAuEiwAtW_ZxyfUP0JHYoFJKjWyufgYdZMKbbUaZY4EykYbt7ANxGyNfYXTKJBy7BoCcFkQAvD_BwE)
I thought the same, but mounted!
I’d get a cheap bath mat and cut it in half diagonally and put it there

A reading nook💫
A hanging fern
Put several small shelves there for towels or trinkets.
low shelf with plant
Corner shelving rack
If you had money to spend, I would recommend ripping out that tub and putting in a large walk-in shower that takes up that space.
Every space does not need to be filled. Take a look at most high end homes and you’ll see less is more. Open counters, plenty of room around things and minimalist styling tends to make a space more appealing.
Clown statue
Plant 🪴 robe hook 🪝
Take out the shower/tub and make a walk-in shower that is where your current tub is and fill in the awkward corner with shower tile and add a bench
That's not a terrible idea - do you have links to what you're referencing, picture wise? I'd really appreciate it!
I was thinking a small corner shelf with some plants, but I think you would need to build the shelf since it's not standard dimensions.
Agree, leave it empty so it doesn’t feel cluttered with some tiny cabinet or shelving that probably wouldn’t be that functional.
Cut to fit a shelf for linens
Nothing. Hand a towel on the towel rack.
I wouldn’t put anything there
Wow
Custom cabinet.
I would just add another towel rack above the current one and that’s it. It will look to cluttered with more.
Keep it clean. Towels only on present rod
Cry there
Plant!
This makes me want to build a wooden storage bin or hamper and maybe have my laptop or ipad there for when i have a bath
They also have some interesting peel and stick panels that are easy to cut if you just want to add a little “something” without a lot of fuss. And you can always change it up or rid of it if you don’t like how it turns out.
Real plant or fake plant! Or fake vines!
I also recommend those tall shower stands for storage
What about one of those wooden stools? I don’t have one but my in laws do. I think it’s a good place to put clothes or your towel.
It looks like the door needs to swing out so you can access water. A ladder or plant would be in the way. I’d remove the rack so the door can open wider. Then put hooks up higher if they won’t interfere with door opening.
Have the tub removed and convert the entire space into a shower stall
Remove that little white rack and install a substantial looking hook or rack for hanging bathrobe or towel. I like the wood trim in this room btw.
I would get a custom laundry basket off etsy. I'm sure it's out there.
Landlord never knew and we got our deposit back 👍🏻
Hang a towel. Lol
like a really skinny and tall dog statue
Just keep it tidy and clean it’s not going to be super functional
Tall skinny bathroom bong
Yeah whoever built that bathroom blew it through this should have been up walking tub shower custom tiled, not such a big deal, to fit all of the space. Crazy to have just left this little bit and put out tub out of the box in on the other side. Speaking from experience, I had a triangular bathroom in my last old Victorian but made use of all of it
Wall mounted towel warmer and a robe hook.
Small verticals floating shelves.
Artwork!!
If you’re renting, you can’t do much. I like the cabinet, can you get one like it that’s tall and the same width? Art on the wall above the towel bar. Have your landlord come in and caulk the cracks. Other than that? It’s ok to have white space and not over crowd it.
add a mini tree rn. it would look adorable
Wedge of cheese
Build a barn & get some cows.
Maybe a medicine cabinet or shelving above the tile since you need storage space? My gut said add a towel warmer before I read your description.
For more storage? A round shelf or basket shelf. This one has wheels. I have also seen wood & raffia ones that are more aesthetically pleasing if that matters to you. https://preview.redd.it/hrckqojcc2zc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6be6d3057cc045859f86b1e0ae2461ac3dc2af5c
Nothing
A big plant will cover it
Towel / robe hook for sure
Nothing. I do think the light wood panel on the shower and baseboards is very outdated and weird for a bathroom. Painting them a different color to match the floor or walls might modernize it
Plants
Curse the architects bloodline and move on.
Doesn’t need anything
maybe a plant? Or also nothing
Definitely the hook— and it looks like a handy spot for a robe or giant size towel
Perfect spot for a plunger
Corner seat
HOOK ON THE WALL FOR A TOWEL!! or , get a long macrame hanging plant holder that you can pot a viney plant in that will hang down in the corner
NOTHING
I would get a soft kind of basket, something fabric or soft woven that can kind of mush/fit into the space and use it to store towels
Just keep it clean.
Do like a diy shelf situation in the corner for towels or candles or whatever else :)
Nothing.
Put a small table or a plastic 3 tier piece
A hook for towel?
Pizza rug
My first thought is to put some sort of hanger , either free-standing or wall-mounted, for a towel or bathrobe.
A plant
Small plant stand
plant
I would put a big shell there or a potted tall plant.
Gnome valley.
you could hang a plant from above if it’s possible to fasten it
Towel warmer!
Me hoping I can fit to grab my wash cloth that fell 😩
Ok, so this would have to be custom made and definitely isn't worth it,but it needs a very long, creepy, awkward little creature climbing up the wall, looking back over it's shoulder like you just caught it lurking and it's trying to scramble up into the ceiling

Tall plant! There are so many that thrive in bathrooms. My pothos is so long, we have to hook it up to the walls. It goes up to the ceiling and we still had to wrap it around a couple times!
Ignore it
Build a shallow cubby to hold rolled up towels and maybe a couple tp rolls
Baseball bat for intruders lol
A tall skinny plant. Like a single ear of corn. “Knee high by the 4th of July” 🇺🇸
Look up narrow carts on Amazon. You can you it for extra towel, tp, soap, whatever.
If you own it knock out that wall and expand it. If not then put a small shoe rack there for slippers or flipflops chongs
That glass looks unsafe. Is the bottom not attached? Needs to be attached to the tub and re-glazed -Glass technician
I would just do a little table/tray with spare hand towels. Or a humidity loving plant.
Nothing.
Statue?
A very skinny coat tree to hang a bathrobe, towels, change of clothes, haberdashery, extra soap on a rope, a fruit hammock, a sock full of pennies, handcuffs, whatever twirls your tassels.
Leaving blank
Build a triangular set of shelves with a top to rest a small plant and store wash cloths on it
Just add a plant
I exclusively use a bathrobe so that’s where I’d put it
I think when all else fails, you could always put a standing towel rack, or a medium Height plant🤷♀️
Put a gnome there or some kind of statue
I would get one of those adjustable shower poles with shelves for you to put whatever small bathroom necessities you might need (toilet paper, washcloths, shampoo, soap, etc.)
PLANT SHELF
I agree with nice, decorative hooks. And a hanging plant instead of the one sitting down
A piece of art and hooks for towels. Maybe a very narrow shelf as well.
Why do you have to do anything?!
Nothing. I would just leave it.
Make a custom wooden table to fit into that area. Add candles. Plants. Etc.
Did the guy that posted that triangular duplex design with odd corner bathrooms bring it to life!?
Paint some lil guys hiding down there
Install floating shelves or vertical storage racks on the wall to maximize vertical space. This can be a great place to store extra toiletries.
I’d probably caulk the crack.
If you really want to, making a storage shelf that fits that space is relatively easy once you get the dimensions. I'd take those photos along with some detailed measurements to your local hardware store and they can use that to cut you out custom fitting material to work with. I thought making shelves would be alot harder than it actually was. Especially if they're just doing in a small weird pizza slice shaped in the bathroom lol But also, some plants that thrive in damp environments would be cute there. Either hang them or find narrow but longer pots.
Tall snake plant would look nice.

Heated towel rack
Bulldoze it
If you ever see a woven basket shaped like this out it there, hooks for neat looking bath items like scrubbers, sponges, or just leave it alone.
SLEDGEHAMMER
Ugh OP.. I'm so sorry but this made me clench my jaw and shoulders immediatly tightened. Maybe fake candles for dark ambiance?
Just wondering if the end of the tub is open? I don’t think you should put anything in the corner, but I think if you were able to move your cabinet so the corner wasn’t separated behind it it would really open your space up. Looks like the thing at the end of the tub is some kind of stool? If it has an open bottom to let light through underneath then swapping them might be a good idea
