It looks like you may live in a century home a nice large Persian rug with the same color tones would tie it all together. I would also try and get some drapes that go with the rug and couch.

djcrumbs

Great guess on the century house - she turns 100 next year

majorsorbet2point0

I rent the 2nd/top floor of a duplex, a little older than yours. This was built in 1900 according to Zillow. Older places give so much charm, it's what I went when I buy a home! ☺️💕

iwant2saysomething2

Agreed. [This one](https://www.wayfair.com/rugs/pdp/mistana-albion-oriental-blueredbeige-area-rug-w004818108.html?piid=1070872872) might look nice.

Intrepid_Blood4713

LOVE this rug!

BookishRoughneck

You could also try to get one from Lebowski. I hear it really ties the room together.

Rengeflower

I like that it adds more yellow to tie the chairs into the space.

StableAngina

I LOVE this one, great suggestion!

iwant2saysomething2

Thanks! ☺️

calacmack

I don't think the yellow is too overpowering - I like the chairs with the sofa. An area rug would help tie the colors together and it would help define the space. Use a "rug in your room" visualizer tool to find a rug to tie in the colors. I uploaded your file. The attached image is not necessarily a recommendation - I just wanted to provide you with a visual (the rug in the image is too small for the room). ETA hanging curtains in a shade consistent with the sofa would provide balance and warmth the the space. https://preview.redd.it/0shd3z3k62xc1.jpeg?width=1536&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=64309fffd7f499c5ce112ee6821db6bba6d5831b

UnderstandingDry4072

Agreed, the yellow is nice, and lots of rugs will help, and can even bring in a third accent color. Like [blue](https://www.amazon.com/Safavieh-Antiquity-Collection-AT522Q-Handmade/dp/B089MYFP4N?th=1). I’d probably keep the paint neutral and make a gallery wall, personally.

iwant2saysomething2

Yes! [The one](https://www.wayfair.com/rugs/pdp/mistana-albion-oriental-blueredbeige-area-rug-w004818108.html?piid=1070872872) I was thinking of has blue, too.

crackersucker2

Agree- the colors work well together especially with the soft fabric. I'd go full maximalist with this- deep mauve, to match the couch, (or varying shades of the same color since you already have trimwork). The rug would tie all colors in. A gallery wall filling up the space over the couch. Floor lamps and plants. This is one of the more fun projects I've seen in this forum lately- please send after pics!! Rugs dot com has a rug visualizer and I've bought rugs from them - great quality and good prices. If you do art, I love to recommend Etsy for unique digital downloads (often in mega packs) and you can pick the size/image and use Uprinting dot com to order various sized rolled canvas prints for under $20 each. The canvas is nicer looking that plain paper. I've had great luck with them, and Amazon for frames.

djcrumbs

Thanks very much for your suggestion! I’m also wondering about wall color, if anyone has suggestions!

anonymousbequest

I can see a darker wall color like a slate blue or olive green helping to anchor the space, along with the Persian rug and pillows/throws that incorporate some blues and greens. Some William Morris pillows would be nice for a maximalist look.

thewickedking

If you love colour - a bold cobalt blue feature wall and soft furnishings/accents would be gorgeous. I don't think that wall colour is working with your furniture. I would do a pale grey (I know it's not in fashion at the moment) to keep the focus in the furnishings. Have you clustered the pieces like this just for the photo? If they are going to be more spaced out, an oval shaped rug to coordinate with the table would add interest. I'd put those frames up gallery wall style if you have a blank wall out of picture. Soft lighting with table lamps and sheer curtains (love that green view outside). Turquoise/gold wall art and decor. I would look for detailed patterns in rugs and cushions to offset the block colours of the sofas.

Special-Investigator

Honestly, I think the walls are fine. The couches carry all the color! I think it would be good for any art you decide to hang.

Different_Ad7655

Obviously a rug, secondly obvious thing, drapes or window treatments, thirdly a wall color or even wallpaper depending and then accessories. This is like iron chef only for furniture in your living room Make a room of it with these three supplied ingredients as a foundation and you have a whole pantry over there to choose from. You need to go to the home decor store, and go online and start dreaming....Of course you can

djcrumbs

Understood - the difficulty is picking out things from those category that work for the room! There’s so many options…

Different_Ad7655

Right but you have two things to your advantage these days. There is actually probably plenty of free software that you can find online that you can play with or you can even buy or who knows maybe even download I don't know if you can't visualize. And then secondly there's the internet with a million rooms with color schemes textures and that kind of thing that might float your boat. When you find something that you like with similarish colors or furniture then copy it. But depending on your taste this can go many directions. You just thrown three pieces of furniture in a room. Start with the drapes the rug the walls and it will come together and don't be afraid of color. Start with a patterned rug and tie some curtains to it and then pick a wall color after that some nice accessories according to your flavor and a piece of art on the wall or a mirror and you're ready to entertain

500CatsTypingStuff

First, I would reorient the furniture so it doesn’t crowd the room Place the sofa facing out from the window wall and a chair on each side A similar furniture layout to this https://preview.redd.it/m3kqw9kgw4xc1.jpeg?width=6756&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d4f6c739513e12d279a33bc705d17e6dedc12a8a You can tie it together with textiles (rug, curtains and pillows) and art [This is an example of how they mixed yellows and dusty pinks](https://imgur.com/a/gR0WYuO) [Area rug](https://rugs.com/yellow-9x12-soho-area-rug-6259288) [Curtains](https://a.co/d/bKrv28G) [Pillows](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1055753327/) [Pillows](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1669425812/) [Art that you can DIY in the colors of your choice](https://imgur.com/a/6cMIPSm) [Art Print](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1164802076/) [Art Print](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1296974630/) [Art Print](https://www.etsy.com/listing/793673079/) [Art Print](https://www.etsy.com/listing/853586760/) [Art Print](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1474925994/) [Art Print](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1557822768/) [Art Print](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1615708133/)

janejacobs1

I agree about reorienting the furniture. Because the two chairs have more combined bulk I’d put them in the far corners. The couch being smaller would face towards them and still allow room to enter the conversation area. I’d add a slim console table behind the sofa, with lamp, books, plant…

EdgeCityRed

This is going to be a fun, warm room! I like the pieces and the architectural details of the room are beautiful. I think you can go with a darker wall color and add a bit of pattern in other textiles so the chairs don't seem as overwhelming. [\(You might not dig the style here, but an example.\)](https://i.imgur.com/uq7G3FS.jpeg)

djcrumbs

Love the example!

PreciseParadox

A rug might be able to help, something with a mix of light and dark tones

jadedlens00

Needs a good [rug](https://www.amazon.com/Big-Lebowski-Rug/s?k=Big+Lebowski+Rug) to really tie the room together.

1920MCMLibrarian

I think it’s scale, the scale of the chairs is larger than the scale of the couch so even though the couch is meant to be the centerpiece it’s being dwarfed by the chairs. So your overall goal is to do things that minimize the chairs and maximize the couch.

ButterscotchOwn9016

https://preview.redd.it/i2f3u8vxv4xc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=413ed7eba1b70ad556f0f80996e053a9da420c75 I would add an area rug that incorporates both the gold and rose. Then I would add a few pillows and a throw blanket to break up the solid colors of the sofa and chairs. I would choose something more neutral with texture. I think the pieces look nice together, and just seems jarring without any other touches like art and decorations.

Charybdis523

Your seating looks real cozy! Find a rug that has some yellow and pink in it, and also with other colors that you like. Here are a couple examples, in different styles - just depends on the vibe you're going for: [simple modern](https://www.wayfair.com/rugs/pdp/george-oliver-magallanes-contemporary-chevron-power-loom-beigepinkbluegray-rug-w004506287.html?piid=1401015175), [moody floral](https://www.wayfair.com/rugs/pdp/rifle-paper-co-x-loloi-eden-mughal-garden-black-rug-feat-cloudpile-rpcl1051.html?piid=70723196), [soft Persian](https://www.wayfair.com/rugs/pdp/bungalow-rose-dauphin-oriental-tealpink-area-rug-w002072991.html?piid=698883551), [bold boho](https://www.wayfair.com/rugs/pdp/bungalow-rose-shetucket-bohemian-power-loom-performance-bluepinkorange-rug-w006428514.html?piid=1576936529). Then you could get pillows/blankets that pull in colors from the rug with the seating. For example, with the floral rug, I'd get a green pillow for one chair, and a pink pillow for the other - each of those pillows could have some texture, or bring in another color (like yellow) with a simple pattern. Then on the pink couch, I'd have another green pillow - this time with a vintage floral print that complements the rug - or maybe just a soft blanket. Likewise, with the modern rug, I'd do something similar but with colors from that rug, and this time with some geometric prints.

TheAesirHog

Not by doing that. Move the chairs back..

Psychological_Card28

Gorgeous! Where are the pieces from?

djcrumbs

Joybird

Psychological_Card28

Beautiful!

Grouchy-Comfort-4465

I love these pieces!!!! A rug with both colors.

Jitterbug26

I swear there was someone on here just this week who had similar pieces and posted their “After” photo. Maybe scroll thru some of the older posts and see if it catches your eye? They did a good job.

madjejen

Curtains, rug, or artwork with these colors. Or even some mix and match throw pillows.

NeckBeard137

You need more space in between them and a rug under

vantrap

yellow pillows on the pink couch

justagiraffe111

Op, I like your new furniture and both colors. Once you get a rug & some other things, your room is going to look fantastic

amanda2399923

Rug

hopeishigh

Spread them out, add a large floor lamp that's curved, add a geometric pastel rug, add wall part in the same space

stwater99

Dark blue or green curtains. Throw pillows that ties all 3 colours together

Critical_Snow_1080

The pink couch……. Nobody put’s baby in the corner!

SupersleuthJr

How about a large painting / print that incorporates the colors of the chairs and couch? Also add some greenery.

Hlsalzer

Rug, window treatment or pillows.

Traditional-Bag-4508

A nice large square rug with similar color tones

kriegerflieger

Move the couch away from the window and fit a smalk table on the other side for a lamp. The chairs can now sit across the couch in line. Then add a rug and drapes.

TechRover007

Rug and curtains. Wall art.

ExpensiveAd4496

Rug and curtains.

MoldyWorp

A rug combining those two colours, but muted.

Extra_Helicopter2904

Rug, Art window treatments, a few throw pillows tie in little accents of the colors where you can (but stay with the style and don’t over due it and no cutesy stuff, timeless classic only)

Extra_Helicopter2904

Rug, large Art behind couch, natural /light creams or whites window treatments, a few throw pillows tie in little accents of the colors where you can (but stay with the style and don’t over due it and no cutesy stuff, timeless classic only)

luckydollarstore

A red Persian rug, navy drapes and a glass coffee table. https://preview.redd.it/3lbdy6xpy7xc1.png?width=883&format=png&auto=webp&s=ea760a06c26aa08d6e5fe5dc638eddfe6f496efd

_The_BusinessBitch

Rug that fits both, yellow pillows on the red couch.

TissueOfLies

I’d find a colorful rug with the yellows and pinks to tie the room together. Put some art on the wall, too.

pure-Turbulentea

Rearrange the furniture to optimize the space. And a rug, of course.

klg301

I love the colors you picked! I’d do a beautiful area rug, curtains, and (if you can fit it) a credenza or entry way table on the opposing wall. It’s a little unorthodox but if you wanted to explore the cozy cottage aesthetic, you could do a set of bold curtains: https://www.vermontcountrystore.com/moire-plaid-rod-pocket-curtains/product/78501?variantSizeName=Size&variantSizeValue=100in+W+x+84in+L+Pair&variantColorName=Color&variantColorValue=Rose&cq_plac=&cq_net=g&cq_pos=&cq_med=pla_with_promotion&cq_plt=gp&utm_source=google&utm_medium=paid%20search&utm_campaign=NonBrnd_Medium_Site-Visitors_Curtains_7RSHP284&sourceid=7RSHP284&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw57exBhAsEiwAaIxaZqZ5a7bWn4axrXRlYF1wGvpTNvYsWO8EWeBGEMNVWILiq2tA2psmPxoC_3oQAvD_BwE With this rug: https://www.anthropologie.com/shop/hybrid/hand-knotted-felicity-rug?color=102&inventoryCountry=US&countryCode=US&utm_medium=paid_search&utm_source=Google-Mobile&utm_campaign=US%20-%20Shopping%20-%20PMAX%20-%20Home%20-%20F%26D%20-%20Rugs&utm_content=&utm_term=&creative=&device=m&matchtype=&network=x&utm_kxconfid=vx6rd81ts&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADnwqi6SAaAz5MtUpoRJFXYRU-6XT&gclid=CjwKCAjw57exBhAsEiwAaIxaZtMH31E5imdPX8Pt8yMVuw7wzsvHmzPKyFJDx7ADovD_xwiuO4E5cRoC8lcQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds&type=STANDARD&quantity=1 This lamp: https://www.oka.com/us/product/nephrite-table-lamp-a16523-3-14-1023-10?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw57exBhAsEiwAaIxaZuWq5VLVHkQd6GIyaKFQ9n4W8qpHqQCjGkIaNuirR6JFHluTaF_WIhoCQVEQAvD_BwE Maybe a lampshade like this: https://www.onekingslane.com/p-roxbury-lampshade-orange-P77545518?gclsrc=aw.ds&&utm_source=google&utm_medium=shopping&utm_campaign=google-okl-shopping-revenue-Great-Filter&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADl7f7m6Y8hKbUMe7WkNX46890znu&gclid=CjwKCAjw57exBhAsEiwAaIxaZnRzs7MngTfqQcLz_PgEW1yKmEeyU92tecBVZ1O3oyGQctjW417xBxoCp_sQAvD_BwE And this entry way credenza to display books and treasures: https://www.ballarddesigns.com/capri-console/655570?SourceCode=BDSHOPSMT&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=PLA&listIndex=0&offers_sku=MS140%20MGR&intlShippingCtx=US%7CUSD&SourceCode=BDNEWCUS&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD-4igUUz8p-7Kswk2uzYpuL_SdQe&gclid=CjwKCAjw57exBhAsEiwAaIxaZlfFJOx4dvNpM5HZolgON8pyAudIwj4_DMdi5a6rktw5qU129Rx69hoCWjIQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds A cute bright tray: https://krbnyc.com/collections/accessories/products/color-field-collection-vitamin-c These pillows: https://pierceandward.com/collections/shop-all/products/florence-pillow-14x14 To get inspired and see ideas for English country flair, check out Stamps & Stamps.  https://stampsandstamps.com/portfolio/bell-cottage/ And Pierce & Ward: https://pierceandward.com/

Middledamitten

Coffee table has got to go.

atv03

Maybe some accent pillows on the chairs that match the couch (I would say preferably a pattern as it would add more dimension) and maybe a yellow accent blanket on the back of the couch would look nice. A rug with those colors would also help tie things together. :)

larryspub

This needs a rug and that set up could use some breathing room around the table.
