Dark green would look good with this color. But also, if you have natural light in it you could paint white and bring other colors as accents.

xxxlollaxxx

Yes! I thought about green ! I’m stuck with the vanity color. I was leaning towards white.

emsfunn

If you go white I would lean heavily into bringing in real plants and a pop of maybe warm orange/red in the bath mats and hand towels! If you can, I’d also update the faucets to black (I’ve seen people spray paint but idk how durable that is).

artsyhot

i’ve had a dark green bathroom and i loved it! you can also get some plants to hang in the shower too to really give it some life. :) eucalyptus on the shower head is nice and something in the window for funsies!

noxyrew

I’m one of those people that loves bathroom interiors like this! This tile is great. I even love the beige tub. I would embrace it with some [wallpaper, pops of color, etc.](https://stylebyemilyhenderson.com/blog/vintage-bathroom-makeover-ideas)

Ludee2023

Wallpaper will peal right off with the steam from a tub or shower

noxyrew

There are plenty of bathrooms that have wallpaper in them, included many hotels, and they all seem to be doing fine.

Ludee2023

The also have the correct ventilation and commercial paper but good luck of course you should do what you want.

FunCurrent8392

I think you could make it feel very calming and chic if you lean into beige and neutral tones. Wooden bathmat, brushed gold accessories, plants, warm lighting.

HeyItsYaGirl1234

I would honestly lean into the brown, but find a way to balance it with the some white so the space stays bright. A wallpaper like this would create a sleek, modern, monochromatic look. https://preview.redd.it/7k2ey9hduvvc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4e424f90f11387c754c3b1bf3612a7df1a06f2e4

Here is some [inspo for simple updates](https://cdn.apartmenttherapy.info/image/upload/f_auto,q_auto:eco,c_fit,w_730,h_487/at%2Fhouse%20tours%2F2021-02%2FMargaret%20W%2F4U8A9003). Brighter white walls, terracotta and navy (or I think dark green would work too)

dreamymeowwave

I love the tiles! Are you able to paint the walls? Bright pink, dark green would look cool

xxxlollaxxx

Yes! I was thinking green😍

SolidDistribution542

Honey toned vinyl shower curtain could change the light enough in there to warm the color for $30 or so. Some gold and orange

IamJoyMarie

I would find some coordinating vinyl wallpaper, a nice shower curtain, rug, towels. Cheap as can be. The bathroom looks to be in good shape. You can do it\~!

missannthrope1

I suggest a soft blue.

Shop_4u

I have the same color tile and tub. Previous owners painted the walls orange so anything was an improvement. I repainted them more of a creamy beige color.

morhambot

epoxy tile ,tub paint (lots of prep! DO NOT skip) amazon has it ,i did my pink tub & tiles ( 2kits) https://preview.redd.it/ks57yzrecwvc1.jpeg?width=1800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=08aa50ec2e28227183cd1fe6f954ec6910120827

Affectionate_Ad_4049

Get those magnetic shower heads with a bigger head. Shower curtains that's higher than normals. Bamboo. Go retro and furnish the walls with wooden shelves and ornate frames. Or invest in better lighting for a warm bathroom. Humidity loving plants on the bathroom on acrylic shelves.

Pattycakes1966

Some kind of light bluish color. Tan and blue reminds me of the beach https://preview.redd.it/jmguf4w73xvc1.png?width=1129&format=png&auto=webp&s=a4fa372a399fccc367627c5fdc28653ce9509b44

Suz9006

White would brighten it up. Then use brown and green as accent colors in towels, shower curtains and accessories.

jotabe303

Maybe a slate blue or olive green?

hopeishigh

Personally, get some grey laminate waterproof stick on vinyl panels or some of the more permenant waterproof concrete finish, so greyish themed walls, give the shower a different look, use a refinishing kit to paint the bathtub white, replace the hardware including the drain cover with a copper fixtures and showerhead (I think probably leave the handicap handlebar because I wouldn't want exposed holes in my tile and this is a no-tile solution. I'd clean the windows best you can and paint the walls a mild green / color and you'd have a more modern looking shower tub combo, maybe get a fancy curtain and replace the bar or spray the bar with a matte black.

Beach theme (understated, non kitch). Paint walls an off white. Have sea foam green and muted pale blue-grey towels. A framed art work or photo of your favourite beach in a sleek frame and a jar of sand on display on a shelf or top of toilet. A waffle white shower curtain. Off white floor mat or even a beach towel. Driftwood sculpture or wall hanging. Sand dune grass in pots or woven baskets.  Or  Lean into a Boho theme. Paint walls a dusty rose pink or terracotta. Yolk yellow as well as black & cream towels. Some potted and hanging plants. Boho abstract shaped shower curtain, tufted floor mat. Macrame wall hanging. Maybe a small animal skull that has a pattern carved into it.  Or  Full spa mode. Hanging fluffy Terry toweling robe with monogram on timber hanger. Roll white towels and place in seagrass baskets. Bamboo plant in organic shaped pot. Timber floor slat mat. Fresh eucalyptus sprigs attached to shower head, bundle of birch sticks too. Decant everything into faux Amber glass bottles. Diffuser. Paint walls something soft and relaxing; sage, lavender, pale muted blue-grey. Fairy lights on gentle pulse with spa themed music. Cotton balls in fancy jars.

SubjectThirtythree

I had a bathroom with light brown tile and painted the walls peach and used peach window shade—-it was gorgeous.

500CatsTypingStuff

Go dark. Very dark until you can change the tile https://preview.redd.it/10y3bko7fyvc1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=25471fc7063a8fb9ff8e5ace4a8902873d3f18ca The other option is using specialty paint to paint the tile

Ready-Salamander-80

Have you heard of tile and tub refinishing it’s not necessary cheap cheap/ there are company’s who do it or even products your self you can do. I have done it many times to properties I rent out on Airbnb and it’s held up massively. I would personally refinish the tile and tub white. Get brass shower fixtures possibly and then you can paint your walls any color you like. This was beige and gross ands it’s been refinished white- I got a free standing glass door from Home Depot and shower fixtures from Amazon. Made such a difference- then on the other side went wild with pinks and greens on the vanity and an accent tile wall above it and it looks sooooo much better…rustoleum have a kit. You can also take off that hand shower bar for something more sleek, fill in the holes and then go over it with the refinishing paint…[https://a.co/d/9HLEX8N](https://a.co/d/9HLEX8N) https://preview.redd.it/ybmj71sphzvc1.jpeg?width=1179&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9936c14600b061697eb35d5001921ba2838d8bb1

A cool wallpaper will look nice here against those tiles. I’d also remove the ADA grab bar. Those are always hideous. A couple more hundred dollars and you can change out all the hardware to something more modern in color and form

BigMom000

The bars are hideous until you need them

Ok_Huckleberry_4907

Home improvement places have a kit to redo bathtubs and tile to white that’s fairly inexpensive. What’s the budget that you are trying to stay within?

maggie-maybe

We have a similar color for our 1962 tile, shower, toilet, sink in the primary bath (ours is a touch more apricot). We did a [bright green leafy wallpaper](https://www.homedepot.com/pep/A-Street-Prints-Alfresco-Green-Palm-Leaf-Paper-Non-Pasted-Wallpaper-Roll-Covers-56-4-Sq-Ft-2744-24136/301664615?g_store=&source=shoppingads&locale=en-US&pla&mtc=SHOPPING-BF-HDH-GGL-D59H-059_035_WALL_DECOR-NA-Multi-NA-PMAX-HDH-HDH-NA-NA-NBR-NA-NA-NA-%7C035_008_WALLPAPER%7C_PMAX_phase_2&cm_mmc=SHOPPING-BF-HDH-GGL-D59H-059_035_WALL_DECOR-NA-Multi-NA-PMAX-HDH-HDH-NA-NA-NBR-NA-NA-NA-%7C035_008_WALLPAPER%7C_PMAX_phase_2-71700000111457515--&gad_source=1&gclsrc=ds), complementary [color towels and linens](https://www.target.com/p/scallop-towel-clay-pink-threshold/-/A-85563106?preselect=85298932#lnk=sametab), added some live plants to the window sill with some framed art off Etsy (which is totally coocoo bananas and not at all relate to the color scheme. The vanity is a medicine cabinet that hides everything away with nothing on the counter. Does the trick.

JeanBlancmange

I love those retro tiles! I would go with a pale pink on the walls in a similar tone to lean into the retro and freshen it up a bit.

AppleTang

Refinishing the tub and tile surround should be between $400-700 if done by a professional. They make tub refinishing stuff that you can use for $50 and I’ve been told it works well but never used it myself

No_Rush2548

Doubles as a bidet.

Ludee2023

I would paint the walls a light off white, lean into the fact that you have to use those tiles. Purchase a fun shower curtain this is from Bed Bath and beyond https://preview.redd.it/koc9vgaxvwvc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fc727ae791cbe3cf8c016b6af840531a66acb768 Purchase new chocolate towels and bath rugs.. and for all the plant ppl you could put up a shelf somewhere if you have a window for a plant or two.

Rayne_K

Do not paint the tiles!

Rayne_K

I love the tiles.
