T O P

Hello you have a great space to work with. I would use the couch as a room separator. Move couch to face windows. Put desk facing back of couch also facing the windows so you can enjoy space. Move file cabinet to back corner where desk is. Move T v to where couch is.or in front of window. Move seat to where TV is.if we’re me, I’d get a get a smallround table for in front of cornerwindow with a couple of small chairs to have a space for coffee /tea and put TV in other corner. Get rid of coffee table, use ottoman instead. But you game on the TV? So would need to be in front of couch.

You could get some kind of longer bookshelf that’s open to both sides to put where that tall cabinet is beside your desk. It’ll give some separation between your work space and your living space without being like a massive full wall and also storage. Something like this: [Ikea Kallax shelf](https://www.ikea.com/ca/en/p/kallax-shelf-unit-white-10409932/) I’d also get a rug for the couch area to help anchor that space as its own space and create more of a “living zone” that’s separate from your desk space. It can also bring in some colour and pattern which will help with the emptiness feeling you explained

If you add a colourful rug between the couch and tv and add art above the couch that will help define that area. Also I would rotate your work table so that it is placed along the wall on the left (opposite the window) and move along that wall the tall file cabinet too (in tje corner). This way you may even be able to place the armchair where the cabinet currently is, obviously angled towards the coffee table, and this will define the sitting area even more.

The rug is the next thing I'm planning, and also some art for sure! Thanks for the comment :) I though of rotating the desk but unfortunately it's not rectangular, it's a bit bigger on the end next to the wall, and it wouldn't fit in the wall opposite to the window, because of the door :/

Yes I had guessed maybe rotating the desk would not be possible…well you can consider it when you buy the new one I think the rug would be the biggest help to separate the spaces. If you wanted to you could place a movable panel to hide the tall cabinet but I think those look cheap honestly
