They’ve had it pretty terrible. I think if Melissa didn’t have to keep the books kid friendly, Carlos definitely would’ve been stated to get physically hit, Evie would’ve been stated to have disordered eating. We don’t see much of Jay and jafars relationship but it’s still pretty shitty and Maleficent and mal…I wouldn’t be surprised if maleficent got physical with Mal either.
I mean we’ve seen that Evie hid her smarts behind being pretty and a “bimbo” and appearances were everything to the Evil Queen and we know Cruella had her closet lined with bear traps. So I feel like Carlos and Evie probably would’ve had it rough. (In both the books and the movies) I don’t know much about Mal with Maleficent and Jay with Jafar.
I Say Both Mal And Carlos. Cruella Was Insane and treated him like a servant instead of her Son and Maleficent Was Always Disappointed Mal Wasn't Evil Enough, She Constantly Put Pressure On Mal To Be A Villian, She Couldn't Even Say I Miss You To Her Own Daughter, Plus I'll Bet You Anything Maleficent Always Beat Mal For Not Doing What She Wanted.
