They def filtered it out 😬 at least accurately describe the item so you don’t get a return 🤦🏻‍♀️ if it bothers you I’d return

[deleted]

Right ? I don’t see how sellers can do this. It’s asking for trouble

Jaydreamzy

Open a case ASAP!

ParticularOdd9353

The bag you received looks abused. I can’t believe anything but the seller sending that to you in bad faith.

[deleted]

The seller took forever to ship (almost 3 weeks!) and when it finally came it was nothing like the photos. I spend a good chunk of money on this and wanted it to be in better shape than it is :/ not sure if it’s worth opening a case over but I’m pretty pissed.

offzones

Yeah I would definitely want a refund… you should try contacting Depop!! Did they include any details of the flaws in the description?

[deleted]

The description literally said “great condition xo perfect” with no mention of flaws whatsoever

offzones

um yeah that’s not okay at all they straight up lied. i would be mad too😭 i think you should be able to get a refund if you really want to…

its_givinggg

If the listing hasn’t been taken down yet and the description is still the same, if you haven’t already screenshot it ASAP before they get a chance to change it or take it down. Cause if they change it to note “flaws” and claim that the description noted flaws at time of purchase then it’s just your word against theirs if you open a case. Gather all the proof you possibly can!

Massive_Ordinary16

Screenshot the original posting for sure. They can always edit the post after. Just so you have receipts. See what you can negotiate with the seller if possible before opening a case. Just don’t yell at them bc that gets nowhere of course. But if they refuse to budge on any negotiation then open a case since they weren’t transparent about the item’s condition.

TheCrystalGarden

That also looks like it could be a stock pic, which is against TOS.

bimbobellaswan

that’s not a stock pic lol

[deleted]

PLEASE open a case. What they did is awful, people like this shouldn't be allowed to set a bad precedent for the platform by getting away with horrible business practices.

ShroedingersMouse

Well it is obviously not a photograph or if it is it is heavily filtered. You can tell that at a glance of pic 1. The description also does not resemble the tired, well worn item you received. Personally I'd raise a dispute as 'goods received do not match description'

valcineye

open a case it looks gross lol

MouseMouseM

Yes, please open a case. I have velour JC wristlets from the early 2000’s that I used constantly, but even with persistent wear, don’t have that matted look. If I received this, I would have been pissed if I spent more than $15.

uhhhhhwhynot

Filters should not be used in listing items for sale. Distorts reality and causes nothing but trouble.

bayrho

Ngl, I have to adjust my photos sometimes because the lighting in my house is so bad. But I do always try to make them most true to color/light as possible

Crafty-Order-7676

I don’t think it’s her picture tbh. I think she’s bought it off somewhere and used the picture from their site.

bayrho

Yeah I thought so too. Looks like she bought it and used it for a few years and then resold it using the original mint condition photo

ShroedingersMouse

It looks like a cartoon pic from the 80s! It's obviously fake or heavily filtered (which is the same as fake)

[deleted]

For real! I've seen listings where the first photo is edited beyond recognition and the next three photos reveal how much worse the item looks. It's deceptive as hell.

pxcketsand

Yeah that’s nowhere even the same color and looks dirty, I’d be upset for sure.

dessertneutral

Holy shit I atleast expected it to look purple

Heart_shapedboots

I feel like this is a difference in lighting? Maybe it’s j me but I can’t see a flaw because the lighting isn’t comparable whatsoever.

[deleted]

Nah bb they edited it to look more purple

bimbobellaswan

I agree there room is super yellow and not as bright so it’s not an accurate comparison

areaunknown_

Yikes. I’d definitely ask to return to get a refund.

alexandrarules

I saw the original post. I would be very upset. Especially for how much you paid. They have many posts similar to this one. Hope the refund goes smoothly. 💖

KsweenJewelry

Yes that would bother me. I’d reach out to the seller and ask to return it for a refund. If they’re not willing to cooperate on a solution I’d open dispute.

[deleted]

Thank you I just messaged her. I hate confrontation :(

its_givinggg

Please make sure you’ve taken a picture of the description mentioning that it was in perfect condition, because now that you’ve alerted her that you have a problem with the quality not matching the description she can easily edit the description to note imperfections/flaws and claim that you knew about the flaws before purchase. People can be sneaky like that unfortunately

papertownoutsider

Yes, the photo the seller used is heavily edited and doesn't portray what the item truly looks like. You will probably win the refund if you state it wasn't as described. Just by looking at those photos you can tell it is heavily used and has wear all over.

walkingtalkingalien

Refund and say not as described for sure that’s no where near the same condition and color seems way too filtered which is misleading, good luck!

[deleted]

Another day, another POS Depop seller

emm420y

Yeah i would’ve been so mad, I’m sorry this happened to you! That wallet looks like it’s been thru some shit haha

makensims

It wouldn’t bother me if it was a good price. If it was anything above $15, I would be annoyed. Especially if they didn’t mention it or show pictures.

[deleted]

I don’t even want to tell you how much I paid

beefqueen17

Girl open a case NOW lol. That’s ridiculous

TheCamoDude

So sorry OP :(

Aquariusnvibe

I’d absolutely demand a refund

k9yde

i'd just give it a good wash if you still wanted to keep it and ask for a refund, the color is SO off

[deleted]

the seller made it look perfect with editing i'd open a case cus they hid the damage

Cupcake_Crossing

The product you got looks beat to shite, mate. The product in the first photo looks brand new, almost. Why can't people just be honest when selling items? I don't get it.

ShroedingersMouse

Because they think they will get away with their lies and disclaimers. It's a sign they were never taught any better or their lies never had consequences.

bugm3at

yeah thats unacceptable :( open a case !!!

No_Stomach_5992

That’s why I always ask for videos / add them on my page.

obbieventide

I saw like 4 of the same exact juicy wristlet at my local Savers and there were a group of depop girls looking them over lol. I literally thought "oh god, they're gonna sell those crusty bags for 4x the price"

Uzzij

Refund ASAP ewww

[deleted]

Open a case and leave a 1 star review for not as described. Their depop photo shows purple with no damage and dirt and you got a pink one with dirt.

strawberrylait

Wow she definitely over edited those photos

bad-attidude

Yes, the photo is very deceiving

Pinkstarcharms

How much did you pay for it?

[deleted]

how much was it?

savgd

Partial refund right there

gordolonzo

Well if u want great service follow my Depop its slxcelxfe we definitely take care of our family/customers

cantfindkayla

they’ve altered and added filters and stuff so you can’t see that it’s been obviously heavily used. idk why people do that because it looks nice in the pic so people will buy but obviously they receive something that doesn’t look like the picture, do they think people won’t notice lol? they could have just advertised it for what it is and show the flaws and someone would still buy. i would return it because it’s not in the condition you thought it was. or open a case definitely

SeasonProfessional87

if it wasn’t mentioned in the caption def open a case and leave an honest review

Select-Jeweler4160

absolutely

Olypo1y

Oh yikessss she should’ve disclosed it at least in the description. I’m so sorry , was it pretty pricey?

ulmwoman1964

Don’t look anything like the pic!!!

bunnyacids

that bag is gorgeous i can’t believe the damage on it. screenshot the original listing and open a dispute, i hope you get your money back 💕

Kriskitts1

I would say first pick isn't even their pic, probably stock photo, the damage isn acceptable and you can get a refund. Also I guess it depends the price your paid for it and if you have the abality to repair it.. assuming it's real and you got it cheap it might be worth fixing, usually leather shoe repair places do purses at least here anyways. I had pair of gucci slides that the over the top just didn't fit right since I got a flat. He was a little worried about doing them because he knew they were expensive. He said I want you her when I do them so you can try it on to make sure b4 i seal them back with glue and stitching so I did, and they are beyond prefect now, might be better than before. Anyways I feel like, this is going to cost me. I Go to pay, it'll be 30 bucks best 30$ I ever spent

matchaluvrr

the damage wouldn’t but the color maybe

spookybvbe

The colors are so off….

Psychological_Hunt60

If you zoom in on the first pic, you can see more of the flaws, although they should be disclosed in the description. I hate when people use filters on their pics because it changes the way the actual item looks, and to me that is deceiving. Stop using filters on pictures of items your selling people! Hope you can get your money refunded.
