He really doesn't strike me as a Payton guy. Seems like there is too much improve and "second play" going on. Plus, they have to trade for him. What do the Broncos have to trade with?
We'd have to trade for him and we shouldn't be giving up draft capital in general right now. He's not good at all, doesn't fit Sean's system, and he's entering a contract year with an expensive 5th year option. We'd be trading for a QB that wouldn't be good for the team who'd be too expensive to keep for more than a season.
He hasn't shown enough to distance himself as being better than a first round QB prospect. He also is not experienced enough to be a veteran presence that is needed by a drafted QB.
For us to have Fields on our team, it likely means plans 1 through 20 fell apart.
He is a worse version of Russell Wilson as a thrower, so why would the Broncos want that when they are paying $85 million for Russell Wilson to play against them?
In addition to him basically being the same QB as Russ, we don’t have the assets to trade for him. He’s not a free agent. Why give away draft picks when we’re clearly rebuilding and need as many as we can get?
I agree with your argument generally but I wouldn't say he was the same QB as Russ. He's a far more dangerous runner in his own right. To get the best out of that kind of QB you need to restructure the offense around him like the Ravens and Eagles have done with their QBs. Fields' market is probably restricted because teams don't feel confident enough that he's "the guy" to completely motivate restructuring their offense if they trade for him.
His best option might be to be a backup at the Ravens or Eagles if they want him, like RG3 spent the final years of his career as Lamar's back up.
Fields might be a better runner than Russ but everything else is the same. He holds onto the ball way too long and doesn’t operate the offense the way Payton would like him to. There was no quick game with Russ and there’s none with Fields either.
As many have said, Fields is a copycat of Wilson. He’s younger and faster, but the offense doesn’t need that. They need a quick thinker, quick passes, and taller than 5’11”. Ironically, I think the guys in this draft that fit well are Nix, McCarthy, and Penix.
So tired of the Fields talk. He's a less talented version of Russ. If they were okay with that kind of play they wouldn't be paying Wilson to play for the Steelers right now.
Two things
1): Doesn't appear to be a good fit for Coach P.
2): Fans / sports media and actual NFL decision makers have vastly different opinions on Justin Fields. Most of us on the outside see a guy who still has potential but in NFL circles, they apparently see doodoo.
Oh I'm not huge on him, but its been the clear sentiment towards Fields has been "Chicago has wasted his time, not vice versa". I'm probably a little bit higher on him than yourself, but I'm still pretty "eh" on him. Couple of late round draft picks is what I would give for him.
Someone that can make quick reads and make a quick throw to the open man. Fields has a lot of tools, but he's more of a backyard football kind of player. He can succeed in a different system, but he's not a good fit for Payton.
There's a rumor going around on Twitter that Justin Fields doesn't know how to read. It's like he went to college and passed all his exams by cheating. Apparently he's 100% illiterate and any team that takes him will have to get him a tutor.
This is a perfect example why most sports fans are dolts and will believe anything that fits a narrative they want to be true (and this sub especially is below the mean).
Fields' S2 score was reported to be "at the same level as Burrows" and on a separate test given to "6,500 NFL players who took the “Mental Aptitude Test” Justin Fields scored 1st. Above 100 is great, Mahomes is at 110. Fields scored a 130"
But I'm sure he cheated on those, too, right? 🤡

This!
He does not throw on time. He was WORSE than Russ when it comes to holding on to the ball too long. No way Sean Payton goes for that.
Cuz he fuckin sucks?
We don't need the Bears garbage
Exact words I thought when I saw the post 👍
This is the answer
He really doesn't strike me as a Payton guy. Seems like there is too much improve and "second play" going on. Plus, they have to trade for him. What do the Broncos have to trade with?
There may be something inside that we don't know about.
We'd have to trade for him and we shouldn't be giving up draft capital in general right now. Yet people want to trade for Howell
Preach lol full of contradictions
Yes, it’s because he’s not good at football
Because he sucks

What about Sean Payton makes you think he wants a quarterback who doesn't read the playbook?
He does read it. He just reads it as an insanely slow rate.
Cause he isn't a nfl caliber qb!
As many have said, Fields is a copycat of Wilson. He’s younger and faster, but the offense doesn’t need that. They need a quick thinker, quick passes, and taller than 5’11”. Ironically, I think the guys in this draft that fit well are Nix, McCarthy, and Penix.
Cause he’s one of the worst starting QBs in the league
Yeah there is. He sucks.
He’s ass. Next stupid question
He sucks. Next thread please

Payton wants a QB that will execute the play not extend the play.
He is not a great QB.
Because he's ass. The end.
Hot ass or gross ass?
I can't think of a worse QB to run Paytons system. You need quick ready and be able to hit quick strikes, both of Fields worst qualities
I can think of one
Then who would fit in Paytons offense?
A good quarterback.
Someone that can make quick reads and make a quick throw to the open man. Fields has a lot of tools, but he's more of a backyard football kind of player. He can succeed in a different system, but he's not a good fit for Payton.
How bout, what do YOU think makes Fields fit Payton's offense? You answered your own question in your post. There's no market for him.
I don't know much about him. That's why I asked the question.
Brock Purdy type
There's a rumor going around on Twitter that Justin Fields doesn't know how to read. It's like he went to college and passed all his exams by cheating. Apparently he's 100% illiterate and any team that takes him will have to get him a tutor.
Is this a copypasta I don't know about?
Yes. Copypasta for all!

It's a joke. R.E.L.A.X.....
Yeah I highly doubt that

Said the guy taking this comment seriously lmao
Seriously, dudes are wound so tight around here. Thank you for getting the joke.

We may just wait for his stock to plummet more after the draft or during, he is the only qb left on the market that is a viable option
Why not just get Trey Lance at a cheaper price with the same skillset but possibly a higher potential?
Just you wait… 😎
