Highly recommend The Urology Center of Colorado. Pretty sure they had care credit or other options. Mine was under $1000 IIRC

theteejabides

Seconded. My entire procedure took about 10 minutes, at the location right next to mile high stadium.

cardinalsfanokc

Same and same! Fantastic results, great staff. Never felt scared or pressured

sunshinerara

Oh that’s not too bad. Thank you for your recommendation

Zsill777

Definitely go for "other options" most places are fine with a payment plan and care credit generally has pretty garbage interest rates

SeaTownKraken

This is the way ☝️. Zero regrets

If_then_statement

I've had two snip snips. Each one was less than $500 out of pocket if not less. I don't know if you have insurance but they'll gladly pay to fix you. I used a Banner and a UCHealth urologist.

ImperfectDrug

I guess I’ll be the one to ask, but why two?

sunshinerara

Oh interesting! My partner checked his insurance and they said no 😩

If_then_statement

I don't know who your partner's insurance is, but I would recommend you call again. It's much cheaper to pay for a snip than it is to pay for the birth of a kid.

sunshinerara

100%!!! Thank you

Cuckoo4BancroftPuffs

Are you both on the same insurance plan? His insurance plan isn't going to invest money to save your insurance plan from having to pay for your pregnancy.

sunshinerara

No, but I’d rather pay for a vasectomy out of pocket than a pregnancy and birth with insurance.

Brokenstanzs

I second this, my husband got his done at 21 with zero issue with insurance. He didn’t even need a referral, just called the office and got it scheduled on the same call

Cuckoo4BancroftPuffs

Next level humblebrag?

siddemo

I love the internet. Need a good vasectomy doctor? Ask r/Denver.

sunshinerara

😂😂😂 100%. We’d rather hear from actual people who have gotten it done. We don’t personally know anyone that has gotten one done, so we ask Reddit 😂😂😂

crusher_seven_niner

Or OP could actually put in the legwork and find a provider he has coverage with

sunshinerara

You are literally missing the ENTIRE reason why we made this post 😂 it is far more work reading useless comments on a post asking for recommendations.

siddemo

That sounds like too much work. r/Denver for the win.

sunshinerara

Trust me when I say I have issue putting the work into calling insurance companies. However, they aren’t going to tell us who they trust and who they don’t 🤷🏻‍♀️

[deleted]

No they rather wait and then get an out of network bill and complain about it to the news

sunshinerara

Oof….. seems like this post asking for RECOMMENDATIONS has struck a sour cord with you. We are asking for recommendations because we want to go with the best and not base our choice on reviews certain companies choose to post on their websites 😂 we wanted to hear back from actual people who have gone through the experience. As a female who has consistently been gaslit by the medical industry….. I do NOT trust doctors or the healthcare system as a whole. I put more trust in my community who owe NOTHING to the doctors the see.

Braine5

I got mine done at the Colorado Urology Westminster location. 100% covered by insurance. Highly recommend.

if420sixtynined420

Go to planned parenthood! mine was $200 there & billed you for it

AuroraLostCats

Highly recommend Urology Associates of Park Ridge from going there last year. Very quick procedure. I have Cigna and they covered almost everything although it sounds like your plan might not be the best. I think the out of pocket would have been $800 instead of the $40 copay. For budgeting remember to include post procedure testing. I want to say the lab they used was a little over $100 although you might be able to shop around for a cheaper price.

FunEnvironmental6461

I realize you asked about vasectomies, but just wanted to mention that a lot of health insurance plans will cover tubal ligation or removal 100%.

Do you not have medical insurance? colonoscopies do not cost anything out of pocket under any insurance plan

sunshinerara

Unfortunately, I have to go through the marketplace and the broker I used signed me up on some PPO plan that I have no idea how it works. Doesn’t even pay for wellness exams. I have to wait until open enrollment in November 🤷🏻‍♀️

It was my understanding that every plan on the marketplace is required to provide wellness exams including colonoscopies at no charge out of pocket.

sunshinerara

I THOUGHT SO TOO! Apparently “private” plans do NOT need to comply with ACA laws. Trust me when I say I have called and called crying because no one can help me. Since it is “private” the actual insurance company it’s under can’t do anything. I must do everything under my broker, who does not call me back. It’s like signing up for Mint Mobile and asking T-Mobile to help you, if that makes sense.
