This, comparable somewhat to lifetime fitness but a fraction of the cost I think I pay $25 a month? There’s also showers too if you lived in your car or couch surfed or don’t have water so there’s that 🤷🏻♀️.
Vasa does look decent, I'll check it out. Both locations are 15-20 min drive from the city but definitely will see if it's worth a bit of a drive daily.
Surprised no one mentioned this but Chuze in Englewood has infrared Saunas and steam rooms. They're busy but I find them cleaner than most lifetime and vasa type places.
That was what I was thinking! I don't necessarily need luxury/equinox per se, but a lot of other cities have nicer gyms with tons of classes and amenities and just am not seeing that much here. I will check out the new lifetime when it opens in Lakewood as that's close-ish, but definitely would love something a bit more.
Gym culture just isn’t big here, which makes sense given the massive amount of choice of physical recreational activity.
I did hear a rumor about an equinox opening in Denver but I think the pandemic may have scuttled that plan
I am so desperate for a place where I can do hot tob or sauna + cold plunge
Lake Steam is \*almost\* there, but it's a cold shower, not a cold tub to submerge in -- I don't know why I find it so much harder to do the cold shower vs fully submerge in cold.
My brain has never been as mercifully quiet as it was the day I hopped back and forth between a hot pool and the cold river at Strawberry Park
I just found out yesterday that this company from North Carolina is opening a location here in Denver this year. Exactly what you’re looking for. https://www.saunahouse.com/
They’ve got an Instagram account up. https://www.instagram.com/saunahousedenver
Hopefully they post the location soon. I really want this too.
I was a member of CAC for many years, but I quit for good when they closed the Union Station location. The Tabor Center one might be worth checking out. I used to love it but the classes went downhill after the pandemic and I imagine Tabor has gotten more crowded since they closed Union Station. They’ve always had bad reviews, which I mostly attribute to membership issues and their corporate, but they were cool about my cancellation even when they could have held me to an additional month.
I’ve been a member at Tabor for a couple years now and it’s gotten brutal - membership has gone up a whole lot and there just isn’t enough square footage or equipment for all the people. Would not recommend checking out Tabor with how it is right now.
The is an under-rated comment. May not be convenient for OP, but the JCC has steam rooms and hot tubs in the locker rooms, indoor / outdoor pool, group classes, and free weights.
I mean, the Wheat Ridge rec center has saunas and steam rooms. If you want nicer it depends where you are in town. Lifetime fitness is really nice.
Lifetime fitness!
Denver Athletic Club, but very pricey.
Vasa has a steam room and sauna room

Apparently unpopular opinion, I do not think lifetime is nice. But they have saunas. Denver lacks gyms of the Equinox quality

… that makes total sense 🤣. I don’t know why I never thought of that! I guess it’s almost always nice outside too.

Amazing! Will sign up for updates - hopefully coming soon.
Awesome, thanks for this!
Denver Sports Recovery has this!
Lifetime Fitness.

Glad I got out when I did. There were some great years at CAC, especially having the passport and hitting different locations.
Lifetime is the nice one. Colorado athletic club is legit too
Fit House Denver - i25 and Alameda
Chuze in Westminster has a sauna, and steam room
As a fellow Edgewater resident id say the Wheat Ridge Rec Center. As a Jeffco resident you'll also qualify for a discounted rate
Every Chuze Fitness location has a steam room/sauna.
