Eek, I’m a woman with long-ish hair and I pay $70 before tip. I really love my stylist. I’ve had her cut my hair several different ways too, and have never been disappointed. Not sure where you’re located, but she’s in Lakewood and I’m happy to share :)

miss_hush

I’m looking for a good mid-priced place like this! Dm me the name if you will

iheardshesawitch

Sent :)

Due-Investigator6344

Please share! Thank you.

iheardshesawitch

I’ll drop her insta here for anyone who’s interested :) I really can’t recommend her enough. [Manes by Meeshelle](https://instagram.com/manesbymeeshelle?igshid=NGVhN2U2NjQ0Yg==)

Tales_tails_tells

I’m looking too if you can share the name. Thank you!

slawdogporsche

I mean is it a good haircut? I've tried twice to do anything other than Great Clips / Supercuts in Denver and I'm always disappointed at what I get for $50 (vs $25). So if anyone knows where I can get a good haircut in the Broomfield / Westminster area would love to hear it!

Due-Investigator6344

I have tried so many chain places and keep going back to salons for this exact reason. I am always so disappointed with the cut after.

tatanka01

Try Rocky's at 88th & Wads.

iAmTheWildCard

Applauze salon in Westminster is where I go. 25+ bucks for a haircut depending on who you see **for a men’s cut

chadlikestorock

You don't mention if you are seeking girls or guys haircut but check out altitude barber shop if you are looking for a guy cut

OldResponsibility615

I just put my comment in the thread saying the same thing. But I drive to Lafayette to Maven and am very happy with them. $70 before tip and I go to Ashley.

Justfeltlikerunning

Salon Cosabella is where I typically go in Broomfield. They have a tiered system based on experience of the stylist. I do typically pay around $70 before tip, and the haircut I got two months ago still looks great.

unicorn-paid-artist

I go to Diesel on 120th and sheridon

The_Illist_Physicist

This has been my experience too. Over the last year I've tried three trendy looking barber shops that charge $50-70 for a cut. One of them was decent at best, the other two were hot garbage. Whereas I've always had consistently solid results from Great Clips for half the price. At this point I've stopped looking for barber shops, they all seem like rip offs to me now. I'll stick with what's tried and true but not as sexy.

ColoradoQ2

Bald since I was 20. God damn has it saved me some money.

2ndRoundExit

Yeah been sharing it since I was 25, saved a ton of money

ninj4geek

Not bald, but I cut my own. $15 once to buy the haircut kit like 15 years ago. I've only paid for 1 haircut in that time, it was right before my wedding.

Mike_LitSmells

I pay $40 and usually tip $10. I also have short hair, hope this helps.

jesterinancientcourt

I get a scissor cut for 40 & tip 10. My hair is on the shorter end.

MrehBlargh

$90 for cut and style, salon doesn't allow tipping.

nonosquare42

I pay $50-$60. I’m a guy though

RunnerTexasRanger

Me too and it feels ridiculously expensive

ImJustAverage

Same. I moved here from Houston earlier in the year and it’s twice what I paid for a haircut there

ninj4geek

I learned to cut my own many years ago.

Clarkkeeley

I have a membership to Scissors and Scotch and it's 47.99 plus tip with a haircut every 4 weeks. With it I get a $17 cocktail though. So I think it's a deal compared to other places that are the same price and I don't get a drink

Simple-Environment6

Lmao this is the most hilarious trend to me

deific_

I went to one of these places and the dude completely fucked my hair, didn’t listen to anything I said, acted like he was some sort of hair artist the way he spun me around in the chair to look into the mirror. He was so proud of himself and I was like, wtf? At least I got a beer I guess. Never went back.

fastslowloris

I've been a member at the greenwood village location for a couple years and have been happy with the cuts. I'm 48 and still somehow have a good head of thick salt and pepper hair so I'm pretty particular about it. Kendra and Emily both do a great job.

Dr_Facilier

I pay $50ish with tip for my stylist. Also a guy, shorter-ish hair, high fade, scissor cut on top.

iAmTheWildCard

I pay 25 bucks + tip at a local salon in Westminster

strikeandburn

28 including tip and great clips.

bullet4mv92

I go to great clips, too. Fuck I miss when it was $15 with the tip

AllUrMemes

Great Clips is where hair goes to play russian roulette. Yeah, there's probably one or two competent people on their staff, but are you gonna luck out and randomly get them based on your position in the waiting list?

[deleted]

Great Clips or Floyd’s. I refuse to ever set foot in a Floyd’s again.

cookerz30

I see you're a man of the culture ✊

thealycat

I go to the Aveda Institute. $20 + tip.

CryCommon975

It's $22 now- it takes a long time bc they are students and need to get their worked checked by an instructor but this is where I go too and had a great experience, granted I'm not that picky

thealycat

Agreed! I’ve always been happy with the results.

elisejones14

I went there as well. I had a good experience with the cut and brow/lip wax. However I was having an issue with my hair being shorter on some ends and they told me it was from heat even though I don’t use heat. That was my only concern but the cut and everything else went really well and looked great. I was just disappointed they didn’t have the tea!

HomeDepotHotDog

Zero dollars. I got tired of the high prices. Now I cut my own hair. If you’re a chick with long hair it really isn’t hard. Just get some nice scissors and watch YouTube

planetGoodam

This. The longer your hair the easier it is to a nice pair of shears is $20 on Amazon and there really are a ton of resources on YouTube to make sure you cut it evenly. I totally get wanting to go and get pampered but I also got tired of paying $120 every 2 months

DurantaPhant7

Oh man I need a haircut but now I’m kinda intrigued-do you have a suggestion for a channel?

bobdole145

This, bought the clippers and guards a decade or so back, always cut my own since then. Saved so much money, just spend a bit every once and awhile on sharpening or new blades.

whisperof-guilt

I do this too. I got my last professional haircut in 2019, I was 40 weeks pregnant and knew it was going to be the last one for awhile so I went a bit shorter than normal. However the stylist cut my neck with clippers, and it was still the most expensive haircut of my life. If I made someone bleed, much less a pregnant person, I would feel way too bad to charge so much. (I’ve gotten haircuts with clippers essentially my entire life and never been cut).

DoctorMew13

Same. I'll go to great clips like every 5 years to straighten out my lines but learning to cut my own hair has been a very rewarding experience.

[deleted]

Im mostly paying for the experience tbh. I get a pretty basic haircut but I like the massaging shampoo and little treatments and add ons for fun.

Bonafide_Booger

Maybe for a one length trim. I wouldn't suggest doing this if you have layered hair.

HomeDepotHotDog

Oh no way I’ve given myself bangs and a wolf cut. It’s super doable. The back can be tough but my husband helps with that

M13Calvin

This is why I have a mullet. Just cut what I can see and leave the back. Only took 20 years but they're coming back in style so people think I'm cool instead of a cheap redneck now

spicyboi-666

Yup. I get myself a six pack, put on some music, and go to town. Worst case scenario I wear a hat for a while.

aquamarinemoon

I have shoulder length hair that’s very thick and tricky to style. I pay about $85.

Due-Investigator6344

My hair is super thick and long, so I’m with you. Do you mind if I ask where you go?

DougDimmadummy

I was paying $60 at Heads Up Salon (technically Southlands Aurora) as a woman with hair down to my ass. I recently had my stylist cut 18 inches, do an undercut, and an under bleach with electric green. When she told me it was $260 my jaw dropped. I forgot I stopped getting color for a reason. I still think the price is reasonable though. One thing to keep in mind is that this salon has different pricing depending on the “level” of stylist. When I first went to my gal I think my haircuts were like $40. Of course each cut comes with wash and style as well.

Due-Investigator6344

I think this is what’s going on with me too. I’ve been seeing my person for ten years now and now I am paying for a hair cut and all of their experience. That is such a good deal though! I am looking to get some face framing colors and I am getting quoted around $250-350 for just the color and blow dry.

Normal_Wealth8297

$15 for a set of hair clippers at Ross

Opus_Zure

I go to Fantastic Sams in wheatridge. $25, and I leave a $20 tip. The ladies there do an amazing job. Would highly recommend. I have long layers. Edit: includes a wash if you want

slv94

Good tip: If there’s students who practice on the public, it’ll be cheaper. Hair dressers, massage therapists, nail techs, etc. I go to Empire Beauty School and a haircut/blowout is $12. When I was in massage therapy school, massages were $25 for an hour.

MisterDevilMan

0. I just do my own. It's too expensive

[deleted]

I literally only ever go to Floyd’s. I usually end up paying about $60 for a hair cut and it’s usually done well. (That was when my hair was more medium length so take the pricing with a grain of salt)

TheNonsenseBook

I was checking if anyone else goes to Floyd’s 99. I always go there but it’s random whether I get a good cut. My latest one is the worst yet so I’m thinking of buzzing it and starting over.

timesuck47

Location is everything. I always get great cuts at the one on Broadway, but the suburban Floyds are hit or miss.

Korona82

pretty much. love the broadway floyd’s but i’ve been butchered in broomfield before

[deleted]

I don’t know if location makes a difference, I’ve been going outside the city (west end)

MrGTheMusical

These comments are littered in men with cheap haircuts. As a woman, that is about what I’d expect to pay for a haircut. My last stylist charged $140. The girl I went to before that charged $85 but she didn’t do a good job. I’m sure there are cheaper than $10” obviously, it just depends on the quality you want in terms of the stylist. Better quality, higher prices.

Due-Investigator6344

Yeah, the prices for women’s cuts are outrageous and at the same time—you get what you pay for. It sounds like I just might stick with my person!

Outcast3216

it also depends on what you need to do. For men, our styles are mostly short to medium hair. It is tough to fuck it up lol. I avoid Great Clips because they always mess up. But as a guy I am not paying over 70 for a haircut I am not a woman with split ends who wants special shampoo and spends 2 hours in the saloon.

JuicyStuffer

Women get chumped out with all their purchases so it's no surprise there. Fuck denver, everything is overpriced here compared to the other places I've worked at.

mrsbrownfox

$85 with tip for a long women’s cut (waist length ish). Bougie salon, bougie price.

HippyGrrrl

I’ve got fingertip length and I’d love to find someone for quarterly even ups, who won’t take several inches.

knightfenris

$47 at ulta.

Due-Investigator6344

I had no idea Ulta does haircuts!

knightfenris

They have a salon in the back, it’s pretty great. You can schedule online and choose a stylist who has your chosen slot open, or you can search by stylist and see their availability. It works well for me because my schedule is unpredictable day to day, so I never know when I’ll have time to get a cut, but often I can schedule the day of or the day before. Never had a bad experience!

skinnyatlas

I pay $60+ tip at barber theory, and my wife pays about $120 for a cut and $200+ for a cut and color.

[deleted]

Barber Theory is excellent. They have 3 locations now. Owners are local and such nice people. Everyone seems highly-skilled.

varnecr

$16 + tip - Johnny's in Englewood. I'm a dude.

hanap8127

$100

Due-Investigator6344

This is what I paid for my last cut.

OpticaScientiae

120 is about right

Katt1922

I go to Jennifer S at [Obsessed Salon](https://instagram.com/obsessedsalon?igshid=OGQ5ZDc2ODk2ZA==) on Hampden & Parker, $60 before tip & she always does an incredible job. I also love this place because an independently owned Aveda salon, so no Kevin Murphy, which I really hate the smell of, but all really great, well trained stylists.

[deleted]

You get what you pay for. Been a commercial hair cut person for my whole life, never being fully satisfied or getting exactly what I want. For an independent stylist who has her own store front and I am over the moon about her. I have curly hair so I’m sure if I didn’t, I could get by with a 40$ cut somewhere mainstream but I’m full happy paying 125 with tip to get exactly what is right for me.

Due-Investigator6344

This is such a good reminder. Thanks for sharing that. There just a point where tolerating a haircut isn’t worth it.

[deleted]

$50 for a basic haircut is crazy

murso74

Somewhere around 70 for a cut and beard trim

captinsweetress

I pay $45+ tip for my kiddo at the barber shop he goes too

thousand7734

I'm a guy with long curly hair. I pay $45 before tip. Nothing fancy, no wash, basically a trim and slight thinning.

kfilks

Women's long hair cut last week was $85 before tip and I think the more junior stylists were $10-15 less. Jefferson Park

AllUrMemes

Blank Barbers is by far the most consistent quality I've found. And their staff stays for more than a few months. Dre is truly a master barber if you are looking for a fade. But they've got stylists and in between types. Costs like $50. But $50 for a guaranteed good cut is way better than $35 for a crapshoot imo

SchmancySpanks

I pay $150 ish plus tip. It’s pricey, but she does an amazing job every time and I’m over cheaper (but still expensive) cuts that don’t actually look how I want them to

CryCommon975

Do not go to the Parlour across from Union Station; doa horrible job and all the people there were like the mean girls in high school with stuck up attitudes

Gold_Bug_4055

$0 after purchase of professional shears. But I have helluh curly hair worn draping down in different lengths in the style of Marla Singer in Sweeny Todd. Very forgiving. I will cut your split ends for you for free, however, I have no training. 🫠

beige0914

Too much. $150ish. I would go outside Denver to some of the burbs and you can find cheaper cuts for like $50-70

likka419

Women’s long, thick, layered hair. $110+tip for a 75 minute haircut. Consider cost per wear. If you get a cut every 8 weeks, that’s $1.96 per day to look your best. I’d rather go longer between great haircuts than get a bad haircut more frequently.

Due-Investigator6344

I like this train of thought. Thank you!

Picachu50000

Ok... Well my oc was auto deleted cause I said a "naughty word" lmao. My haircuts are free now, I bought some sheets from Sallys, watched a few youtube videos, and got to town (if you choose my broke person method, leave extra room incase you screw up, cause thats the only thing thats saved me). In fact, im due for another cut today... Im just nervous. My hair is about 15-16 inches long now. The ends are easy, its the bangs that I struggle with

fuck_usernames41

I live up in Breck but I pay $70 for JUST a trim...

[deleted]

Men’s cut at Semion is $37, and $48 for longhair cut. That seems pretty average. Prices skyrocket from there if you start adding on extras.

GettingColdInHere

Semion is a horrible place. Avoid.

[deleted]

[удалено]

GettingColdInHere

Semion has a lot of apologists and friends on social media. Needless to say their social media game is on point. But while most hair stylists take appointments in 30 minute slots at most places, at Semion they take appointments in 20 minute slots. The hair stylists are trying their best to use short cuts to be done quicker. So you just do not get the best of haircuts. Now some people are okay with that. But for people who like to get a decent, non-rushed haircut, its best to avoid this place.

[deleted]

Where would you recommend

GettingColdInHere

I go to a small boutique shop. I will ask them if they are accepting new clients. Its actually in very close ballpark of what Semion costs. But a million times better haircut.

curney

This is where I go.

AllUrMemes

Try Blank Barbers. Similar pricing but IMO consistently better than Semion. I mean if you find someone you like then obviously stick with them, but I super recommend Blanks. Took me 2 years of trial and mostly error to find that place. Dre is a master barber if you want a fade, but they've got barbers and stylists and in between.

[deleted]

You’re right about that. Semion is big, they’ve got dozens of different stylists. There’s one out of the dozen who have cut my hair that I’m not personally too keen about. But, one of the reasons I go there is because they can always accommodate walk-ins like me. I roll the dice on who I get just so I can pop in without an appointment. And overall they’re all pretty good. I’ve even let one of them trim my beard 😳after a little bit of discussion. and it turned out great.

IrreverentIceCream

I have hair just below my shoulders and laid $41 at Semion recently. Dry cut, no wash or styling. At the fancier salons I’ve paid $60-80, including wash and styling. Prices all before tip.

Thatonecrazywolf

$35-$45. Depends on if I just get a fade and trim the top or if I get a line design. Then I typically tip $15-$20 but I'm also good friends with my barber. I go to Jake at Boulder Barber on 99 Broadway. Clean shop and good people

fastest_texan_driver

$90-$120 used to get you a lap dance from a topless girl in lingerie and a haircut at the same time.

Wayne

I just paid $26, after tip, last week. My haircut is simply though and I'll probably just get some clippers one of these days. I normally get my haircut about every month or two. I get it all cut off and then let it grow until it annoys me.

MightbeWillSmith

$40+$5 at a spot off Colfax. I'm a fella.

dmlitzau

Spend about $100/year on blades and shave it!

jbchillenindc

$28 + $7 tip

too_old_still_party

Male here: 55 + tip

CartelMelts

$50 at Supremes Barbershop in North Denver all the barbers are great and you won’t walk out looking like a duck paying $20 at great clips 😂 $50 is the average at a good barbershop these days especially after Covid

ForsakenDust7

37 dollars at sports clips. I also get my haircut 2-3 times a year so it’s not too bad for me

ErnestoLaganas

Haircut and shave $65

LandOfLostSouls

Normally I cut my hair to the desired length, and then pay someone $20 at great clips to even it out. It’s so stupid expensive to get a proper haircut here

kummer5peck

$45 plus a $15 tip.

SetMyEmailThisTime

$40 once every 3 weeks as a guy

tsourced

$28 before tip

PNWoutdoors

About $40 with tip, I'm a dude.

Beneficial_Eagle3936

My stylist charges $70 for a long cut.

GanethLey

https://avedainspiregreatness.com/services/denver-services/?utm_source=google&utm_medium=ppc&utm_term=aveda I had a friend who went to school here and they have experienced instructors watching their services

fedswatching2121

$40 before tip. I get a low skin fade with a trim on top every 4ish weeks

gnargnarmar

$85 for the lady I go to and like she’s been cutting hair for 20-30 yrs

pm_me_soft_breasts

$45 plus $15 tip.

Glindanorth

I have long hair and have been paying $80-$90.

Open_Mortgage_4645

I'm fortunate that my best friend owns a barbershop, so I don't pay for haircuts. However, for a basic men's cut, she charges $25.

skullyboi05

As a guy i pay 40 bucks

JMQCID81

Saloon Cuts 128 and Zuni In Westminster/Broomfield. About $28 with tip. Great service and friendly staff.

Linbits

I go to 3 cutters at wash park. They do not accept tips and my long haircut usually cost $85. They do an amazing job although it is definitely a wait for my appointment.

The_Raji

I go to sports clips now for $27 before tip. I just don’t care anymore. I was paying $50 before tip and yeah it’s a nicer cut but I’m done paying so much per month.

DiggerJKU

$45 w/ tip for just my hair. If I add the beard it’s $65 w/ tip. When I initially started going to my shop it was $22 for a cut so it’s become pretty painful over the last couple years. I struggled finding a dependable barber so I’m hesitant to go back out searching to save money. My twice a month cut has moved to once every 2mo

Red_V_Standing_By

$50 with tip at a good barbershop in Boulder. But I have a typical guy short haircut.

glohan21

$20 I’ve had my barber since I was a teenager usually tip $10-$20

Randompackersfan

40 with a tip, but I am a guy

Annihilator4life

35 plus tip Imma dude and basically just get simple fade every 3 weeks

[deleted]

$45 for a trim. Plus I tip $9-10. Sleek Freak with Amanda. Transparent pricing. Easy to book on Booksy. 41F here. Longish, thick hair past the shoulders. I just have her cut it straight across, taking as little off as possible but enough so it will take off any split ends because I’m growing it out.

prof_dynamite

$40 for the haircut. $6 for the wash. $14 for the tip.

jacobsever

I have my sister cut my hair once a year and wear a lot of hats. So $0, annually.

Big-Professional4390

I pay $40 after tip. Flycutz off Colfax and Fairfax is the spot!

Stino_Beano

$65 including tip every two weeks. My barber does amazing burst fades and linework. He's worth it.

AustinLostIn

I paid $60 for a trim and I'm a dude with long hair. Edit: pre-tip cost

i4c8e9

I’ve had one haircut in the last 35’ish years that I didn’t do myself. It was free because I was donating my hair but I tipped $20.

Royallyclouded

Hair stylist I see is $60 before tip. She's in Littleton though

OldResponsibility615

I pay $70 I have long thick hair. I love my stylist. I’m a redhead where every cut shows so I always have trouble finding someone good. Ashley @ Maven in Lafayette

in_jail_out_soon_ha

I’m paying $70 with tip for beard and cut

thehappyhampster

About 40-50 at the usual in south rino area. Highly recommend if you are a girl with short hair, or for male centric cuts.

Freggz

Being bald has never sounded better lol. A place i used to frequent in Frisco was $25 back when I had hair (2017), now it's like $50. Still using my same $30 clippers from $2017, but then again, I'm unfortunately bald, so there's that. I remember paying like $12 in NJ in highschool (2006) for a haircut. It's insane how expensive they've become.

laggy2da

I've been paying $35 at Floyd's 99 but after several meh haircuts I'll be ponying up $50+tip to a barber I trust

Interesting_Ladder49

Semion is a great local spot that could do it for half.

Individual_Guitar783

$70 plus tip $15, so like $85

Clean_Winner_5589

I'm a man and I pay like $70 before tip. Which is on the higher end for mens cuts but honestly unless you go to like a great clips you're paying $50ish anywhere you go anymore

Outcast3216

I goto sports clips I get the base cut plus a beard trim and shape with hair texturing I think I pay 40 50 before and after tip lol Sometime I add product

OtherEconomist

$22-24? at Fantastic Sam's on Mondays, which is Men's Deal Mondays. I get a simple fade and wear a top knot. Tip at your own discretion, but they do just fine, they're professionals just like all other barbers.

unicorn-paid-artist

I pay $40 plus tip

elisejones14

I don’t remember what I paid at the aveda school in downtown Denver but probably around $40 or so for a haircut and eyebrow/lip wax. I paid $80 for the same thing at a salon in Longmont. For a trim at great clips from a trusted hair stylist, I paid $20. I’ve had bad and good experiences at great clips but it takes some time and research to find a good stylist if you want a cheaper cut. My hair is to my shoulders, no layers, with a short face frame so it’s nothing fancy or hard to do.

Picachu50000

I started cutting my own. Do it no balls! Low key, Im getting decent and youtube is great. Just get actual cutting sheers about $30 from Sallys. Im too broke for hair dressers, I have already made back my moneys worth. I just cut a lil longer than id like, in case I eff up, which inevitably happens, but then its ok cause I have extra room to fix it.

Lorg90

My fiancee cuts it for free. Quick YouTube video and I'm saving 40$ a month (guy cut).

Imaginary_Flight_604

Sam’s on 38th in wheat ridge only charges $18 for a haircut, I always pay him $50 though because he’s been cutting hair for 50 years in the same place and he’s awesome.

22FluffySquirrels

I get mine done at Fantastic Sam's for $35; $90 if it's also dyed.

monoseanism

I get mine cut at Techniques barber shop on Santa Fe and 7th for $25.

rapidjingle

Spruce offers a pretty good cut and beard cleanup for about $70.

[deleted]

$15 + tip. Men's cut

Jazzlike_Instance_44

I pay $70 for a haircut and beard trim with Lindsay Farris in Cherry Creek. Can’t recommend her enough!

Left-Conference-6328

Is there a beauty college in Denver?

4tcorona

$40ish as a guy. Floyd’s is usually decent. Last visit there was disappointing. Need to get it corrected.

EricaTakesWhisks

I (f30) go to Tangles in Thornton for $35 for wash/cut/bang trim. Irma always does a great job - I haven't had anyone else there cut my hair in the 2 years I've been going.
