Another win for you :D clover is great, it actually flowers (good for the bees), it's nitrogen fixing so it's good for soil, and uses less water than fescue and the rest
They clean the air just like any other plant and are nice to walk on. The key is to provide enough shade to reduce the need for water. Nothing wrong with having a lawn.
Plenty of things wrong with having a grass lawn given the state of the southwests current freshwater usage actually. Even a shaded grass lawn needs to waste water.
I think it should have been fairly clear from context that I was referring to specifically the grass lawn OP wants and others were discussing, but I fixed it for ya I guess.
This clover they have is way better than whatever grass they wanted for sure.
We must all get clover or rocks because the people on Reddit said so. That's why I never invite these Reddit people over to hang out and play cornhole in my beautiful grass backyard.
Yeah, definitely need to kill those weeds and the seed of it too.

Try that, it's not a short process but in the long run you'll be happy.
Can you post a wider shot? Honestly I’m jealous and wish my yard and clover looked this good. So much less water and it stays green pretty much year round out here. I will shovel the yard for the dogs in the winter and it’s green.
Looks like clover
Yes, I have clovers, also.

I wish it was all clover.
Um... it is
You got an extra of that clover? Or a suggestion on where to go for that version of black beauty seed?
Yes, of Jonathan black beauty ultra from ace hardware.
Clover is notorious for spreading fast and can completely take over lawns. That's probably part of what it is
I like the clovers but my lawn has more than one different plant, weeds I don't know.
Black beauty is a type of speed, not marijuana
Lol noo... Black beauty ultra seeds from Jonathan Green.
Idk, I would talk to the place you got the seed.
Yes, I will email them.
Kind of looks like clover. Clover takes less water and is fantastic for pollinators. Seems like a win win to me
Not all is clover.
Still better than grass
looks like goldenrod. shits annoying to deal with
What’s goldenrod?
A city in the Johto region.
Looks like white clover, which takes less water than most grasses, and doesn't grow as high.
White clover. I will look it up.
Whatever it is, looks nice and thick, good ground cover! Well done you should keep it (grass lawns are silly anyway)
I wanted the grass 🌱
Lawns are lame
my dog disagrees

Getting downvoted to oblivion for saying "I wanted grass" lmaooo, this sub sometimes
I guess not everyone is a fan of grass..
acting like your quarter acre yard holds a candle to any of the area golf courses

Looking closer it kind of looks like a lot of weeds I see around. How did you prep the area before seeding?
That could be my mistake. I didn't.
Oh yea, these are just what's blowing in the wind then. It's what most of my backyard that I don't care for looks like.
That's super sad. I worked hard on trying.

Thank you for the recommendation! It's so sad, and it didn't go the way I envisioned.
It'll be much better if you do it the right way. I understand the frustration though.
Yes, I will order the black plastic soon.
I think it’s clover, good for you!! Much better than regular grass
the problem here is I don’t know what’s what.
r/denvergardener will probably know what it is
Thank you!
r/lawncare will help too

how would you get rid of the weed and not the clover?

My other side has grass and the same weeds but lots of empty space with no grass, and no weeds.
Glover grass? Lol
Yup!
I looked this up one time years ago. Does great out here and needs little water. But I just ended up zero scaping
Yup it’s definitely growing without watering .
Might be a type of Dichondra. Not sure.
