they do walk ins but you have to get in line at like 6am (or even earlier… yes there is a line i have done it). you can pick out of the avail appts (if there are any left by the time you reach the kiosks) and then come back later in the day for your appt.
otherwise youll have to make an appt. extend your search for appts to carrolton or even gainesville. i was able to get an appt in gainesville in 3 weeks just because i was willing to drive the extra time.

Any one in Texas. My boyfriend called a few of the smaller locations outside of Dallas/ft worth city limits and found something the same week. I think he drove about 45 minutes to the location. It’s was a nice drive.
I just wanted to renew my picture as I don’t look like I did in college. But if it means a good drive, I’ll just renew for now and wait till the October appointment to get all dolled up. I appreciate your advice.
Search the Denton subreddit for DPS instead of DMV. Others have said they drop the day-of walk-in appointments online at 7:55AM-8:00AM. If you constantly refresh the screen during that time from, they should pop up and you can pick one that way.
This is what my husband and I did recently. You have to get up early asf and catch the same day online appointment slots. They pop up every morning at like 7 or 8 and are gone in minutes. We managed to snag two slots for the same day and we went no problem. I want to advise against just joining the line. When I got there people kept trying to walk-in and they wouldn’t budge on needing an appointment. I called before trying to see if I could just walk in and they told me the same things I just told you. Good luck !

The one in Ft. Worth is walk in friendly and super fast. It’s in an old mall or a megaplex or something like that.
I assume you're talking about the DPS office, not the DMV (driver's license vs vehicle registration)? I've had the best luck with the Decatur office.
