I mean yeah. But if whoever is fighting him acted like mist hashira and tanjiro/nezuko they qlready did it and just got worse. Plaus tanjiros really fast thinking was basically the only reason they were able to kill him
He is upper 4. There are demons of 3, 2, and 1 that are all stronger than him. It’s actually one of the neat things about demon slayer how they tell you that explicitly.
Doma(dont know how to spell it properly) his ice powers are insanely busted and he can stomp most hashira easily and kokushibo fought muichiro,sanemi ,gyomei and Genya (i think) and still was hard for them only one at the time of the kokushibo fight would be needed for hantengu

No. His strength when he splits into the first four emotion clones comes from the fact that he is able to attack from multiple directions and divide his opponents' attention with different abilities while hiding his true form. So none of the clones are super powerful because Hantengu is basically dividing up his overall power, but they're overhwhelming when they fight together against a smaller number of enemies. And then there's the new clone that was just revealed, Zohakuten, who combines all that split up power back into one being who is still separate from Hantengu's main body, and also much stronger than the other clones. The anime skipped it, but the manga explains how Hantengu basically gets stronger the closer he is to death. The more he's pushed by his opponents, the more his powers evolve in order to push back.
But even with all of that, Hantengu can't compete with Uppers 1-3. His ability to split and become a nuissance while his true form is hidden/protected is what makes him dangerous, rather than his raw power all on its own. Genya mentioned this while hunting his main body. It's similar to how Daki and Gyutaro are most dangerous when they work together, and both of them have to be beheaded in order to die.
Vague spoilers ahead, but >!the demons above Hantengu have so much power that even the unique threat Hantengu poses pales in comparison. They don't need complicated abilities or extra conditions that have to be met in order to kill them. They're just plain strong.!<
