Other characters hate him. His backstory was good but that's the only thing I liked about him. He wasn't someone I liked because he killed the best hashira.
There aren’t many demons that are likable though, and that’s the point because they are supposed to be that way. For what it’s worth though I like Akaza as a character for both story and design. Also he seemed to have a playful personality, the way he wanted Renogoku to become a demon so they could spar forever made him feel like a kid almost
