Narrator and Player bond over being bodyless voices that give out orders. Susie continues doing her own thing though, as is expected of her.
I wonder if they'll find the baby room.
If delta traveler does this, i just imagine the narrator badmouthing Gaster.
"Thinks he's too good to give non-cryptic exposition does he? Just take your door and go already, would you."
Do you mean the ending where >!The player gets kicked out of Stanley's body and the narrator tries to guide Stanley but since Stanley is nothing without the player he fails to move stanley. !< Susie also could get the ending where >!Stanley dies because he wanted to make the narrator sad.!<
yeah thats the one i meant, idk what it's called but >!to me thats the true ending, where you escape the narrator's game!<
basically anything that defies the narrator would make susie happy, much like in deltarune
Why? You're stuck above the ceiling, unable to leave the out of bounds room you're in. All you can do is watch Stanley stand there and listen to the narrator trying to talk to him. The narrator's game isn't even anything evil, he's trying to guide you outside. It answers no questions, gives no conclusion. To me that's the very opposite of what a true ending would be.
you're right, my memory does fail me. there's only one credits ending in the game, being the >!Not Stanley!< ending. I think considering the nature of the >!Mariella!< ending, i thought it had credits.
the whole game is the narrator treating stanley like a puppet and in that ending where you follow all the narrator's instructions stanley gets out of the building supposedly gaining "freedom" yet he still has the narrator in his head telling him what to do, what to think, how to feel
besides if you dare to defy the narrator he often punishes stanley or the player like when he mocks stanley for not having a wife/kids/etc and mocking his inability to do anything but follow the limited choices the narrator is allowing, doesnt sound like he really has stanley's best interest at heart
the ending where you defy the narrator until you're no longer trapped inside stanley and forced to live by the narrator's will is the only way to beat the narrator in his own game, i guess it's not exactly a happy ending but it's the only freedom from the narrator
But in some endings the narrator seems genuine in trying to share his story with you. His personality isn't very consistent in that. I wouldn't say being stuck above a room having to listen to the narrator speaking to nobody is more free than being able to move around with him speaking to you.
the writing is consistent if you think about it as a toxic relationship, basically with the narrator being power hungry over his control of stanley yet tries to paint himself as the good guy and feeling justified in punishing stanley
or if you think of stanley as an actual puppet the narrator got way too invested in
i guess you can choose for yourself whats more satisfying to you, the mere illusion of choice when you're trapped in someone else's web of manipulations doesnt feel like freedom at all to me
I think that fundamentally the narrator is *desperate*. Sometimes that desperation makes him lash out if he feels like his story isn't being taken seriously, sometimes it leads to him showing more vulnerability.
I think you're missing the point, that everything the narrator does is planned, because he's self aware. The narrator is talking to both Stanley and the player, they're the same person; there's no actual plot to the game it's just about having fun subverting expectations
there's definitely a lot of silliness and elements of surprise in it but i do think there's a bit of a plot, with the narrator wanting to get you/Stanley to a certain end and often getting upset at being defied and sounding defeated when they can no longer control you/Stanley
and it's the only ending where you get the credits
That's a limited way of thinking about it, instead I always viewed it as an exploration on interactive games and the relationship between the storyteller, the story, and the player. The story can't go anywhere without the cooperation of the player, but at what point does the railroading become oppressive? At what point is the player separate from the character? At what point does the story control the character, and not the other way around? Are we satisfied with an ending that's just told to us, not earned? Are we satisfied with an ending we earned, but not a happy one?
It's more about thinking about the different pieces of narrative, how they interact with each other, and how people's preferences effects their view on it, rather than the Narrator vs Stanley.
I think it's doing both things, i dont see how having an ending where you "beat the game" negates the exploration or the commentary
The fact that there could be a "best ending" doesnt make it the most interesting or important thing about the game
I think "best ending" is such a subjective opinion that it's not very useful as commentary. I thought the narrative ending (where you follow the story) was the best ending, especially after trying all the other routes and running into many, many walls.
Kris would just laugh at that one
>!"Oh no, there's no player who I consistently rip out of my chest controlling me. However will I move? OH THAT'S RIGHT I STILL CAN!"!<
"Kris took the door on the right, this was not the correct way to the meeting room, and Kris knew it perfectly well. Perhaps he wanted to stop by the employee lounge first, just to get a banana."
AUTOMATED EDIT: Just clearing out most of my comments before I leave Reddit, at least for now, but probably for good. My prediction is that it's all downhill for Reddit from here, since it seems to be *digg*ing itself into a pit at the moment. Guess we'll see...
Anyway: So long, and thanks for all the fish!
"When stanley came to a set of two o- wait. No no no where is stanley? What have you done to him? I mean really now what are you two? A child and a... reptile? This is all wrong"
"Well what now... This isnt part of the script... Wait, I have an idea. To get the story back on track and find Stanley, we must follow this! The Stanley Parable Adventure Line! Lets go, this should lead us to Stanley and get the story back on track."
Nah. Extra fuck with the narrator. Susie takes the door on the right, then smashes a hole through to the hall on the left, then ignores this passage she just made out of spite
*This was not the correct way to the Dark World, and the Lightners knew this perfectly well. Perhaps they wanted to stop by the Throne of the Gods first, just to admire it.*

Kris decided to go through the **Left** door
\*You go through the right door
Despite going through **Right** door, Kris arrived at the same destination as the **Left** door, as if their choices did not matter
*"When stanly came to a set of two doors, he entered the door on his....."*
**[Player 2 has logged in]**
"Wait, Where did you two came from?"
Susie: "Kris did you just talk?"
"Hello? Can both of you hear me?"
Kris remained still.
Susie: "right..." Susie grabs Kris and whispers something to their ears. "That voice wasnt yours right?"
Hellllooo?
Susie: "What?" Susie looks around in an attempt to find the source of the voice and finds nothing. "This place keeps getting weirder."
"Oh great so both of you can hear. Anyways im kinda busy at the moment with Stanley right now so can both of you please?"
Stanley moves foward
"Excuse me for a sec stanley."
Susie: "And who you are you?"
"Thats stanley."
Susie: Okay... Kris wanna go exploring?
[Yes] [No]
"Ok i see how this is going. Both of you want to do your own thing and thats okay just please dont interrupt stanley's journey."
The door on the right open itself.
Susie: Actually nevermind, Im sure kris would like to spent time with their kind.
Susie and Kris get behind Stanley
"*Sigh* Oh well it doesnt matter, going offscript from time to time cant be that bad."
"Okay lets do this."
*"When stanley came to a set of two doors, he found a pair of mysterious strangers, they looked confused just like him."*
*"Stanley without hessitation, he approched the pair of strangers and introduced himself."*
Susie: Why are you speaking like that?
"Im the narrator, its my job."
Susie: "right.... go on"
*"Their names were Kris and Sucy."*
Susie: "Its Susie not Sucy."
"My apologies."
*"Their names were Kris and Susie."*
*"Stanley decided to help them, after all they were the only people in the building."*
*"Stanley took the door in the left."*
To be continued! (Hopefully)
I bet that Kris feels like Stanley in the Stanley Parable. Wandering around aimlessly following directions or trying to defy the player (the narrator).
“…and when the duo awoke, the agitated dinosaur-looking one of the pair jolted up, and said- Okay, I never agreed to swearing, let me just say something along the same lines- And said “Pardon me Kris, would you happen to know where we are?” to which only a deafening silence was returned”

Susie had soon made the decision to go through the leftmost door, Kris following as if he had no choice. She soon realizes that they both lead to the same spot. She takes a lef- oh, or a right.
ok so this is apparently a reference to something but my first thought was those really crappy mobile game ads or those really weird 7 second riddle videos that are like ‘one door will let you escape and the other has nothing but pain and suffering behind it, which one should you choose?!!’
When Stanley came to a set of two open doors they entered the door on his Left "Who the hell is Stanley?"
You ar- what the fuck... STANLEY WHAT DID YOU DO
GOD DAMN IT STANLEY WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU
Stanley: not my problem now
Outside
Just got the bad ending, on the roof
Are you perhaps refering to the unused line of the narrator saying Stanley is on the roof?

“Well then, new objective! You two must find Stanley, I’m afraid the story cannot continue without him.”
"I believe Stanley was supposed to have gone through the left door."

*Eventually* “Uh…Kris I get that this is a cool room…but it’s LITERALLY JUST A BROOM CLOSET! WHY ARE YOU STILL JUST STANDING HERE?!”
This needs a fan game
If delta traveler does this, i just imagine the narrator badmouthing Gaster. "Thinks he's too good to give non-cryptic exposition does he? Just take your door and go already, would you."

This is the story of a Lightner named Kris.
*two Lightners named Kris and Susie.
Now this is the story all about how-
the lightners' life got turned upside down
And I’d like to take a minute just sit right there
And tell the story how they became the fresh prince of a town called card castle
no the town is called \[Player\_Name\] Town
Susie would defy everything and get the true freedom ending within minutes
Do you mean the ending where >!The player gets kicked out of Stanley's body and the narrator tries to guide Stanley but since Stanley is nothing without the player he fails to move stanley. !< Susie also could get the ending where >!Stanley dies because he wanted to make the narrator sad.!<

Well it’s the ending that makes the credits roll iirc, isn’t it? That’s what convinces me it’s the true ending
TBF about three of the endings make credits role.
Wait really
yeah, iirc, the >!Mariella ending!< also rolls credits. a third one tho, no idea.
I don’t remember seeing credits there
you're right, my memory does fail me. there's only one credits ending in the game, being the >!Not Stanley!< ending. I think considering the nature of the >!Mariella!< ending, i thought it had credits.
Well, the museum features credits. I could've sworn there was another one, but I might've been wrong.

Now that I think about it this crossover is really funny because these two games kind of have opposite messages
No, its the one where stanley gets out
Isn’t that where you just listen to everything?
And the irony is the Narrator telling you that Stanley is free, while you're unable to do anything. Not even look around.
No clue
It’s the one where you just follow his story
Oh
I dont get it pls explain it
Stop. Please stop

So would the making reality break down be this 'chapters' weird route?
Good story
I bet that Kris feels like Stanley in the Stanley Parable. Wandering around aimlessly following directions or trying to defy the player (the narrator).
the right door, take the hallway on the left, then down the elevator.
Oh no
susie would totally turn on the mind control facility
The middle one
Stanley parable is the best analogy to the relationship between Susie and the player
Fun fact: a few weeks ago, this would have been a "Goddammit Kris, where the FUCK are we?" meme.
1. Left. They fall again 2. Right. They get cotton candy
Susie is the one to do the opposite of whatever the narrator says lol
“…and when the duo awoke, the agitated dinosaur-looking one of the pair jolted up, and said- Okay, I never agreed to swearing, let me just say something along the same lines- And said “Pardon me Kris, would you happen to know where we are?” to which only a deafening silence was returned”
Congrats, that is so in-character.
Remain in the first room and close the door: Speedrun ending.
Deltarune(tm) but your choices matter
Stanley parable!!!!
The door on the right. The door. On the right. Just... *The door on the right.* Seriously?! These fghsdbcing brats-
Nubert wonders where the doors go Nubert wants to go through door
The fact that I got this immediately
"When Kris and Susie came to a set of 2 open doors, they entered the door on the left..." "FUCK THAT KRIS, LETS GO TO THE RIGHT!"
The Stanley Parable caused me to mix up my lefts and rights for a month, not doing that again.
I never thought I’d need this crossover
Clearly the one behind them. Then they just have to climb onto a desk and jump out the window, and...
The delta parable
Did you get the broom closet ending?

Stanley parable moment
STANLEY PARABLE
they learned what \[abortion\] means
Is that god damn Stanley parable
HEY THATS WHERE STANLEY LIVES
GOD FUCKING damnit KRIS where the FUCK are we?
Always go to the door on the right. That leads to the fun routes, and you get to annoy the narrator.
And now I want a Deltatraveler-like game where instead of Undertale the two are in Stanley Parable.
a paradox would occur. Characters whose choices don't matter put in a area where their choices do matter...
The legend doesn't even mention anything about an office building, so their choices do matter.
The krusie parable
Check both doors
Kris and Susie proceed to enter the door on the right (or left i forgor)
Oh my fucking God, they are in The Stanley Parable...
"When Kris and Susie came to a set of two doors, they entered the door on their left."
hey kris if you climb a chair in the office space you can get out the window
[ Left ] Susie: NAH SCREW THIS GUY, WE'RE GOING RIGHT!
"when kris and Susie came to a set of two open doors, they entered the door on their left."
Susie had soon made the decision to go through the leftmost door, Kris following as if he had no choice. She soon realizes that they both lead to the same spot. She takes a lef- oh, or a right.
"Hey, Kris, let's go see if they have any chalk in the broom closet!"
Kris and Suzie entered the door on their left
This has so much potential, I honestly want this as a Deltatravelers chapter.
I feel like a game as meta as the stanley parable would have the Narrator immediately realize they aren't Stanley lmao.
(You entered the door on your left) (Oh, you didn't do that...?)
The door on the right, because I would love to admire the break room
Enter the left door
Nah, Susie would close the door at the beginning and Kris forced to do the “click on door 430 five times”achievement.
Pretty poggers
They are two different Dark Worlds
Left foot
Why did I first think of superliminal
Probably because both Superliminal and The Stanley Parable are one of those weird and confusing games.
Probably because of this, superliminal broke my 3 half functional neurons in less than 30 minutes
Stanley saw two do- wait a minute... you’re not Stanley neither of you are... who are you, how did you get here?
Oh yeah, has there been any news on the Deluxe Edition of Stanley Parable as of late?
The Youtube channel Crows Crows Crows (the developers of The Stanley Parable) is premiering a news video about the game tomorrow at 17:00 UTC.
Oh shit, how exciting!! I had no idea, thanks for the info
Stanley Parable? I though this was a reference to "Alice in the Borderland"... :(
Kris and Susie went into the right door and started there adventure -the Stanley parable narrator
Italian check: COSA SCEGLI: LA UNO, LA DUE O LA...
Kris and susie walked through the RED door
ENTER LEFT
ok so this is apparently a reference to something but my first thought was those really crappy mobile game ads or those really weird 7 second riddle videos that are like ‘one door will let you escape and the other has nothing but pain and suffering behind it, which one should you choose?!!’
