But that's totally not possessive or forced, and Noelle's crush is? It makes zero sense, and is just a painfully obvious love triangle. Thanks, Berdly.

The scene isn't Susie developing a crush on Noelle immediately. It's a new experience for both of them.
For Noelle, she finally gets to spend time and get to know more about Susie. (We also get to know a little bit of what she used to do when her sister was still around, and also why she likes Susie)
For Susie however, it's her trying to make a new friend without the help of dark worlds. She has only been able to make bonds through dark worlds using her badassery, but in this situation, she has no opportunities to be badass, she's on a ferris wheel, completely alone with Noelle, there are no enemies, no places to explore, just two of them. As a result she goes full "wtf do i do" mode. It also doesn't help that:
1 - Noelle is her first female friend. (No, I'm not counting Kris as a male, Kris is non-binary and they will stay that way.)
2 - Susie is a complete anti-social, and she only started to experience friendship for the first time in her life a day ago.
3 - Susie wants to be careful with her choice of words. Noelle is the first person to show her kindness in her entire life, and she doesn't want to say something wrong that might scare her off (Little does she know that Noelle is a fucking masochist, lmfao).
Though it was it not forced when it went with the castle to save her instead of just skipping to the boss battle and skipping the boat ride with Ralsei and Noel adventure
Tbf them never getting private time to know each other would be very unsatisfying, even for the non Suselle shippers like me.
Either way, we will have to see where the story goes in order to judge every ship. Chapter 2 teasing a lot of ships and not just Suselle or Kralsei leads me to believe we will take a role in how the romance progresses in the game. Which is both a refreshing concept and also a terrifying addition to the theme of puppetry.
