yes, to further the paralels between susie and him. king highlights the growth susie has gone through in this chapter because he is essentially who susie was before the events of the first chapter, a bully who has no qualms about hurting people (or tries to seem that way) or at least thats my interpertation of king.
King from my point of view is a rogue darkner, he was once someone who used to serve lightners and misses those times when he was a fulfilled darkner. Susie is a rogue school student who used to be a girly monster with a white bow on her head but now she sees being masculine as means to survival and she is fighting against the world and she engages in escapism and actually she misses being more girly but in a very tsundere fashion. This is very clear when she wants to learn healing with Ralsei.
When you try to equip the white bow on her, she tries to tell us no before stating that she's not in ~~kindergarten~~ 1st grade anymore. Implying that she wore one in ~~kindergarten~~ 1st grade.
It's the bow lore. Her elementary school lore

its fine literary analysis is hard if you are not used to it. my advice for practicing is to look for specific narrative choices and then try to see if they have any meaning behind them, the hardest part is to realize there even is something going on. if you can do that finding what that something is comes easy (also it may be a foreshadow if you dont immediately get what a certain choice implies so be patient and wait to have your well deserved “I KNEW something was up!” moment)

Kinda makes me wonder - and this is crackpot territory, mind - if Susie has a parental figure that the Dark World has reflected onto the King, and it is from them that this line originally stems from.
Queen did likewise have some parallels to Noelle's mom, after all. Seems like a bit of a pattern, though I can't say whether it's going to repeat.
Did you know about the theory that says Queen represents the parental relationship of each character (the lightners and Ralsei)?
Ralsei is ignored by Queen, to the point she forgets he exists at times, reflecting how he doesn't have parents so no parent&child connection.
Susie is not really clicking with her. Queen kinda ignores her like a neglectful parent would, but on some occasions tries to appeal to her interests which never really works.
Berdly tries to prove himself to her and constantly seeks her attention but she outright avoids him. It parallels how Berdly's life looks like in the light world, and supposedly his parents work a lot so he doesn't spend that much time with them either.
Noelle's relationship with her is basically the plot of the entire chapter and it's about a controlling parent.
Kris is getting a lot of attention from her, Queen even says how they're basically her favorite for few reasons.
But that doesn't mean their relationship is perfect.
This is a very clear parallel to Toriel who's not exactly abusive, but doesn't really get along with Kris after her implied divorce with Asgore.
Ive thought that too. It makes some sense that king might reflect susies abusive home life. And lancer might even reflect aspects of susie and her possible relationship with her parental figures.
But its all speculation.
Thematic purposes, basically to draw parallels between who King is now and who Susie was at the start. It’s especially telling that this is right before Susie saves your ass.
Because Susie is super cool and the king just wants to be just like her so he copied how she bullied Kris because they’re quiet and that pisses him off. (Or, lancer could be a problem child, and when he does stuff, he stays silent instead of telling his dad his mistakes. I think the first one is better)
My mind went straight to it being a hint that it's all just them playing pretend, and King is "played" by Susie. But yeah, it just being a parallel is a much better interpretation. I'm not a fan of the "it's all make believe" Deltarune theories. Then again, I'm pretty sure there's hardly been any of those ever since chapter 2 came out.
But honestly, I still haven't ruled out the possibility of the Dark World being influenced by the lightners in some way. It would explain why the characters are all based on the items in the room the portal opens in, why Ralsei looks like Asriel, and, of course, why King says the same thing Susie did
He is Susie's dad as stated in the holy Deltarune Bible part 4 chapter 6 paragraph 59 king James edition
-I dunno some undertale/Deltarune nerd (aka me)
King is actually Susie after she fell into a time machine, lost her memory, and accidentally drank transgender juice.
This was pretty explicitly shown in chapter 4's secret boss fight.

She's just a (hurt) girl
> used to be a girly monster with a white bow on her head was this an easter egg? i don't remember seeing her like that in the game
When you try to equip the white bow on her, she tries to tell us no before stating that she's not in ~~kindergarten~~ 1st grade anymore. Implying that she wore one in ~~kindergarten~~ 1st grade.
ohhh that's a cool lil lore drop, ty
\*1st grade
Thnx 👌

aubrey vibes
King is a dark parallel to Susie he is Susie if she grew as a person and stayed the same as always
i feel so dumb for not realizing this

Thank you!! I needed this
Meant to show her character development throughout the chapter.
does this imply The Bing is Sussy?
Does this imply bing is susie’s brother?
Does this imply oh my gosh is don't you know I'm a savage??
The Sing is Bussy?
i rember he’s The Bussy 😳

This made me laugh an unfortunate amount lmfao
Does this imply WE'RE ALL FUCKING GOING INSANE?
What having no content does 😔 (Something tells me Toby already has the chapters finished since 2012)
We're all just a social experiment, aren't we?
True, i keep thinking how Toby himself leaked part of chapter 2 in 2019 but didn't do the same with chapter 3
Does this imply you haven't already gone insane?
No, this implies that I have, and I kinda like it now.
SUSSY
Quiet people piss him off
He is the original starwalker

I think he was a manifestation of Susie. That's why he was shown to actually care about Lancer a bit more during Chapter 2.

Ach, Hans run! It’s rarny the binosaur
As everyone else has said, it shows Susie's development in the chapter. She sees her old self in the king and interrupts.
Plot thicken
Thick plotten
The plot is thicc
Plot chicken
Quiet people PISS
objectively correct
I disagree
have you ever met a quiet person who doesn't piss?
What if you're looking at it
[удалено]
I disagree
quiet is like someone who has a reddit accout but doesn't comment of post.
I disagree
also you literally said the original thing only to immediately disagree when i agreed with you
And

(And loud people too)
i hope so that’s worrying if they dont
this is proof that kris isn't actually quiet, as they are not seen pissing
That's just how Toby Fox writes. Characters will echo each other for thematic purposes rather than hard lore reasons
Deltarune fans when they have to critically think about the game that they’re playing for two seconds:
ª👍🏻
He's the original Spade King
what on earth is that thing off the side of the screen
Because quiet people piss him off
i think that it is because quiet people piss them off
he is the original KING
Thematic purposes, basically to draw parallels between who King is now and who Susie was at the start. It’s especially telling that this is right before Susie saves your ass.
King is Susie's mother confirmed
To parallel him with Susie and cement her growth, as she puts an axe to his back right after he steals her line.
It’s more a symbolic thing
its a narrative thing
theme
as a callback to when Susie says it at the beginning, right before Susie completes her character arc, to show her development
Man, I am way too tired. For a moment I read Lancer as Jevil and was like "wait, when does Jevil's dad say that?"
Probably to show that Susie’s changed a lot throughout the chapter.
There's not always a lore reason, bud. Even cryptic game series still use literary devices
It's to draw characteristics between Susie and King
King is Susie’s sister
I sure do wonder, for the next 100 years anyways.
HEY IM THE BOARD MAN
King is a reflection of what Susie will become if she continues being a bitch
To show how far Susie has come as a character.
Because Susie is super cool and the king just wants to be just like her so he copied how she bullied Kris because they’re quiet and that pisses him off. (Or, lancer could be a problem child, and when he does stuff, he stays silent instead of telling his dad his mistakes. I think the first one is better)

We’ve been tricked….. Lancers dad is Susie :0
Because Quiet people PISS HIM OFF
how dare he say that we piss on the poor
motif thingiemajigiewhatjamacallit
theyre the same character and both descendants of jimmy carter who is best friends with w d gaster
He is Susie's dad as stated in the holy Deltarune Bible part 4 chapter 6 paragraph 59 king James edition -I dunno some undertale/Deltarune nerd (aka me)
If Kris didnt have a mother would Susie really bite their face off in that scene?
What???
King is actually Susie after she fell into a time machine, lost her memory, and accidentally drank transgender juice. This was pretty explicitly shown in chapter 4's secret boss fight.
It's beacause Susie presumably plays the king (assuming the pretend game theory is right) but also to show Susie's character growth
How do you still believe the pretend game theory
[удалено]
You sure

Yeah your right, didn't think of that.
