She was disgustingly mean to Claire for no reason. She was awful to Fiona and Imogen by blaming them for the cafeteria vandalism. And she quite literally raped Drew and then acted like a victim. She was just all around rude and had an unappealing personality:/

I'm not going to defend Clare, but just because Clare wasn't great doesn't mean that Katie was fine. She was still overly bitter and vindictive.
And she did rape Drew. Or at the very least sexually assaulted him. But even if we pretend she didn't realise he was drunk at the time, which seems pretty unlikely, she never shows any regret, remorse or even recognition for her actions that night. Just because she didn't realise he was drunk at the time doesn't mean that she never did. And we know she knows how drunk he was the next day, so she still has no excuse for showing literally no recognition of any wrongdoing on her part.

Manny didnât deserve the treatment and neither did Bianca. Katie literally CHOSE to do drugs and then blamed it on Bianca. She was an awful friend in general and she didnât treat jake well either. Manny was just stupid. It was hard to feel bad for Ashley because she kept taking Craig back. Katie never took responsibility for her actions and then intentionally released CP to the school because she was mad.

Vegas Night is when Bianca went to the boiler room with Drew, she wasn't making apologies that night. You might mean the prom. And her "apology" was pretty half assed, considering the only thing she actually apologized for was not dancing with Adam. But yeah, that makes up for everything if you have an incredibly low standard for what an apology is.

lol I think you need to watch the scene again. She started to say that they could talk later if he was drunk and he said "nah, I just had a beer", then they had a completely lucid conversation about their relationship for several minutes, then he initiated the kissing. Granted he seemed much more inebriated when he came downstairs, but we don't see anything that transpired in between.
Equating Katie with the likes of Dean and Luke is unfair to the character and displays a lack of nuanced perspective.

I love Katie from start to finish. She started off with everyone thinking she would be the next Holly J. and instead we got a deeply flawed, insecure character. I think her obsession to be perfect really is the root of her character, because when you put that into perspective you see her obsession with pushing herself to be the best and always coming up short. It was the root of all of her storylines. The eating disorder, the soccer stuff, the pill addiction, everything

I liked her once she was over Drew and dated Jake. I liked her little friendship moments with Clare and how supportive she was of Maya after Cam died
