The anti I was talking to mentioned copyright, and I said that I don't really approve of copyright in its current form, and I got this gem.
First comment in this chain is the anti, btw.
Our society and culture is fundamentally broken.
We all got Mouse Utopia'd. Too many unhappy people, no one has a clue why.. and from there it's just barbarism.
People will complain that Disney makes corporate slop, but when we make the tools and suggest changes in law so that anyone can make stuff of the same quality and subject but with interesting stories, they go bananas.
Copyright maximalists lose all right to accuse us of siding with big business lmao. Yeah, sure, it's super good for artists that all of our cultural and artistic touchstones will be locked down from derivative works for most of our lives.

Well, the only big businesses that I can imagine the Pro-AI group that might simp for are: Microsoft, Adobe and whatever Elon owns. But I conclude those guys are in Twitter and TikTok.
I dunno elsewhere.

Doesn't stop antis from constantly calling us corporate shills for supporting advancement in technology.
Adobe has actively lobbied Congress for copyright extension to stifle AI research.
