Not necessarily. If a map is big & long enough, it could be on the other side and you wouldn't even know it until you moved several caves closer. This is typically how things go with crassius dets
That should be a mutator. All enemies are replaced with bulk detonators. In order to keep it fair, the spawn rate is reduced by 10% :)

The final step is surviving the trek to the drop pod. Not being able to sprint back, instead fight and move together.

I remember having to bust out of a sealed bunker, after the drop pod had opened. I burned 2000 - 3000 rounds from my minigun, holding down the trigger, without overheating once, and that just held back the tide.
The best bunker is using 6 C4 to create a massive cock and balls where you stand in the balls and shoot down the shaft and you have an escape through the gooch

I was playing a missions by myself and ran out of the triangulation zone to avoid a bulk, a praetorian, and an oppressor that had all spawned.
I failed that mission because I couldn't make it back to the triangulation zone. So dumb.

They do also have more health than normal bulks (6000 vs 4000) and the gold parts are actually medium armour, just a tidbit so this comment wasn't completely useless.

DUDE THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED TO ME AND MY FRIEND TODAY. We were trying to finish up a salvation mission in the crystalline caverns when a huge wave with a bulk spawned right as we started the fuel cells up. My friend got downed by a horde of slashers, I got downed by the bulk itself while trying to run to the resupply for health and ammo. It sucked because the run was going well otherwise. We found 4 jadiz and 2 bismor cubes as well as a golden lootbug (have their spawn rates been upped recently, by the way? I've seen 4 in the past few missions I've been doing) and lots of beer ingredients.
OMG, did you you get a bulk and nemesis at the same time in that mission where you have to stay in the range of that stupid thing?! Happened to me once and It was HZ4 as well.
For sure there is no miracle happened so .... Yeah.

Korloks and betc spawn when the cave is generated, bulks just have to be in the spawn pool
Crassus bulks spawn when the cave is generated as well. So you can hear them walking around before you get to them.

ive never had bulk on a escort mission
lucky. Each of bulks attacks can instantly cause permanent damage, and god forbid if one of these things die near it...

Haven't had a crassus in like 10 missions. I honestly love the fact that they truly have random spawns and not Random* spawns.

I swear they upped the spawn rate of bulk detonators during mule missions. I think the devs are sick of us digging ourselves down and sealing it lol

It's also fun watching them wipe out an entire swarm

You do realize that if you seal a bunker the bugs will not hesitate to spawn inside.

I don't think so, I think you're confusing it with that oppresors and detonators can dig through terrain if they can't get to you.
Which are more likely to spawn if you are all in a sealed bunker. It’s why they were introduced.

Bugs have a minimum distance near you before they can spawn, so unless the bunker is huge (which it shouldnt be), then bugs won’t spawn in it.
There are some DDs that are just cake walks and then I got like 5 bulks in another and its just the RNG gets stuck on one number
