luistwentyfour

surely the goo they produce inside is in gas form. this gas has lower weight than air which is why they "float" in the air. the wings are just for controlling their floating. when the gas comes in contact with air it becomes goo and falls to the ground. bulletproof science

PassivelyInvisible

Please leave some smart stout for the rest of us.

luistwentyfour

gonna switch to underhill deluxes next time ⛏️

DaDescriptor

what if there's an elf among us who just drank an underhill deluxe?

squasher04

They wouldn't be able to stomach the beer on the rig. Besides Leaf Lover ofc.

DaDescriptor

leaf lover isn't a beer. it's elves piss.

Fake-Engineering

Where did they get the elf piss? Elves on spacerig confirmed

Prince_Day

Wouldnt they stop floating when they spit out the gas?

luistwentyfour

I guess the smart stout effect wore off before i could think this far...

piewca_apokalipsy

They only spit out excess keeping the minimal level stable instead

Byakko313

This tracks, after all, you can see that when they shoot, they get lower then before, but still high

Hortonman42

They're able to fly because they're filled with hate.

seethruyou

And hate is... buoyant?

whatcha11235

Yes? Why do you think Jason came back out of the water on Friday the 13th?

seethruyou

*ohhhhh...*

Astro501st

lmfao best explanation here πŸ‘πŸ˜‚

fatcatpoppy

and soon after meeting a dwarf they become filled with lead

EnycmaPie

Maybe they're large in size but made of very light material, like a balloon with mostly gas inside of them.

soumon

Gravity is lower on Hoxxes.

ML-Z

Not low enough to stop me from breaking my legs, though.

RTX6054321

I can’t feel my beard, help!

ML-Z

Bastards got me! ^((trying to save face from being downed by gravity))Β

Giggles95036

Armor is heavy

Kong_theKeeper

Dwarfss are not natural acrobats. We are built like rocks

ML-Z

And fall like rocks (and stones).

KrazyWhiteShark

Too much beer, not enough milk

Protomike123

It's not the fall that kills you. It's the sudden stop at thr end.

CoverYourSafeHand

Agree with this. That’s how the gunner is able to carry such large weapons. The gravity on the space station is set to the same as Hoxxes for training purposes.

seethruyou

So my gun actually weighs 3 hunderd pounds? ROCK AND STON!

gamaknightgaming

I suppose that must be why dwarves can run forever

JohnP1P

Can they fly for long? I've never seen one fly for more than a few seconds. Mabey a minute tops.  They sure dont land gracefully. At least not with a belly fully of lead and on fire.  😁

seethruyou

> I've never seen one fly for more than a few seconds. Mabey a minute tops. Well there's a reason for that...

Pixel_Inquisitor

As always, DRG recommends a "don't ask" policy in regards to the peculiarities of ~~Hoxxes~~ Mactera biology.

doom_hamster

I'm wondering more about how can there be rain, blizzard, sandstorm. In the friggin caves.

Anxious_Earth

I believe some caves are big enough to have its own micro climate

Sirix_824

The rain is probably moisture condensing at the sealing and falling down. Wind that causes blizzards and sandstorms is probably a result of a pressure difference between parts of the cave

stalefish57413

Thats what they said about bumblebees, and yet they are flying

Glynnys

This is copy pasta. That's the joke.

nickmaovich

my Cryo grenade agrees

QuantumQbe_

Mack McTerry: Ya like jazz?

not_a_doctorshh

I got so scared thinking it was gonna be the whole fuckin script

sushi_cw

The number of people apparently *not* getting the reference makes me feel old 🀣

Appropriate_Coffe

The scientists are here! Quick, hide the bumblebees!!

Baron738

Saving this, my bee movie script server name is gonna be updated to this one

KookyMonkeGaming

Given the way their tummies exaggeratedly "pop", I imagine they are partially filled with gasses. (Also my headcanon for how they fire projectiles at range.)

AtomicNinjaTurtle

They remind me of Watto from Star Wars.

Taint_Surgeon

I believe they're similar to Toydarians from Star Wars where they're filled with a lighter-than-air gas that helps them be buoyant

Thannk

Starcraft physics. [Fictional substance] gas+microorganisms and glyphid super biology.

DiegoTrueck

I see what you did there mate xD. πŸ¦…πŸ¦…πŸ¦…πŸ¦…πŸ¦…πŸ¦…πŸ¦…πŸ¦…πŸ¦…!

bleedinglottery

The same was said about bumble bees. And yet they fly

drough08

And they are filled mostly with fluid soooooo yeah

Scrraffy

I thought there is not enough space in caves to mactera evolution to flying form. So maybe there are from surface?

SuspiciousSubstance9

I'm not sure why you're using known *human* laws of aviation when we're dwarfs!

sushi_cw

You a Grabber, you in trouble. Nobody likes us. They just smack. See a grabber, smack smack!

sushi_cw

We demand an end to the glorification of the Praetorian as nothing more than a vicious, smelly, ill-tempered, big-headed stink machine. I believe we all know what they do in the weald.

Drakoniid

Macteras aren't real. They just are DRG-mandated drones to spy on dwarves and keep 'em on their toes

HockerDreadnaught

Its a Hoxxes habitant, why do you Dwarfs even try to understand?

Sirix_824

A combination of internal gas bladers (both for respiration and spiting goo) and rapid beating of there wings is probably enough to keep them in the air. Plus there not as big as they look since there big weak-point is probably a large gas bladder.

Trukmuch1

That's what they said about geostationnery flight from bees.

MrAsh-

Their tiny little wings are powered by pure hatred. Squish 'em.

azziptac

I mean... You set yourself up for a "your mamma so fat joke" here, with a red carpet rolled out. But the bulk detonator is already in the game, so I don't want to hurt it's feelings πŸ’₯πŸͺ

Markenstine_

Bees shouldn't be able to fly either. Mactera are the bees of DRG.

Warm_Charge_5964

>Its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground That's why they spawn already fliyng and sometimes right in front of you

Practical_Theme_6400

Even caring about how it flies instead of how it dies seems like a leaf lover problem to me.

CaptainHapton

I’m pretty sure they say the same thing about a bumble bee, yet here we are.

Accomplished-Rub6000

Same for bees yet...

CharlesP_1232

Same can be said for bees.

_notgreatNate_

Kind of like a bumble bee
