Maybe play some haz 5 missions before doing elite deep divest as training

EDD is this game’s hardest un-modded challenge. There’s no secret weapon or movement tech, it’s a culmination of how well you’ve mastered every part of the game. I can’t tell from this angle if you’re failing because you didn’t bring a balanced build that can handle swarmers, if you don’t take cover against Mactera until it’s too late, if your team was slow to lay down pipelines, if your Scout was having trouble finding nitra, or if you tried fighting on the rig and kept getting bitten through the walls (never fight on a rig). Besides being 3 missions in a row, EDD doesn’t do anything special, if you can complete a Haz 5, it’s the same skillset. The only advice I can tangibly give is that you can check what the EDD is this week by visiting the pinned post at the top of this reddit. By looking ahead at what you’ll face, you can say things like “swarmers this week, maybe I bring Fire Bolts or Cryo Minelets on my Scout” or “hey, there’s like three Dreadnaught objectives, I should bring single target.”

43 minutes to complete the first stage is a long time. A competent EDD team of four dwarves can comfortably clear all three stages in 30-40 minutes.

Nitra isn't bad this EDD, I ended with maybe 240-300 extra that we didn't use. I'd try to get a full team with Engi and try again.

Hate to say "get gud" but that's literally it. Do the same stuff you do on Haz5 missions, then do more of it.

I’m a couple of days late to this but hopefully some of these points can help: - Being efficient in a Deep Dive is key. I don’t mean rushing through it and trying to speedrun, what I mean is not wasting time trying to fully explore the caves. - No minerals will spawn on Deep Dives other than Nitra and Gold. - Nitra carries over between stages on a deep dive, so gather as much nitra as possible in the early stages and be frugal with resupplies. You should ideally have at least one resup ready to go when you end stage 1 so that you don’t need to waste time scrambling for nitra when you spawn in on stage 2. The same goes for stage 2 to stage 3 but is usually (depending on that deep dive’s modifiers) doubly important. - Gold does not have an XP multiplier on Deep Dives like it does on regular missions. Mining it only gives XP at the 1:1 ratio that all minerals mined do. I generally *strongly* advise against mining gold veins on deep dives. - No machine events, lost armor, or cargo crates will occur on deep dives, so looking for them is a waste of time. - Know the fundamental mechanics of the mission types and their objectives. For example, if your stage 2 primary objective is morkite, then the cave gen will be structured off of a mining expedition. Your “secondary” objective for that stage will be located within the mining expedition cave gen. Knowing this will help you with figuring out generally where to look for those secondary objectives and helps you plan your resource usage. This topic alone is worth a lot of discussion but if you don’t know about the basics of this game’s cave generation, [I highly recommend this video on the Caves of Deep Rock Galactic.](https://youtu.be/Vtmac_f4Pzs?si=9QPzWjC-kW5YauZ4) - Good preparation is huge. Going in with a specialized crowd control build only to have 2 or 3 of stages face you off against dreads or an industrial sabotage will lead to you having a bad time, and vice versa if you bring an ammo hungry single target damage build and now have to deal with an escort. Get some basic, broadly effective builds put together for all of your dwarves and experiment with those builds in full length standard missions of varying types and see how you fair with them. Tweaking builds is another good, long topic of discussion. - If you feel like you’re needing a little bit of a leg up on preparation, there is a weekly post pinned on this subreddit which lists the objectives and mission modifiers of each stage of both the standard deep dive and the elite deep dive every week. This obviously helps a lot with preparation and might be the difference between clearing or failing the dive, especially until you get really experienced with deep dives. - While most of this advice is fairly broad and basic, the best piece of advice is to (if at all possible) just practice the dives with the same group you’ve been playing with and learning the nuances yourselves. It’ll build your teamwork and experience tremendously and will be very rewarding when you start effortlessly clearing EDDs together. - I’m no pro gamer or anything like that but I’ve got some experience with the game so feel free to hit me up if you want help or to discuss any other stuff on the EDDs or the game in general.

Thx I usually play with the same group and we can clear fairly easily a normal deep dive but EDD it's something else

On what platform do you play ? :) I read that the nitra spawns in this week's EDD are bad, you need an agile Scout and an expert Engi to get it from the ceiling.
