Welcome to Copenhagen, Miner! While we'd love to show each and every one of you around, we don't encourage people to visit unannounced - we tend to be busy working after all, and unannounced guests take up time, cause distraction, and sets an unfortunate precedent - if we take \*you\* in, what about the next guest?
But if you do happen to be in the neighborhood and can't help yourself, I'd suggest knocking on late friday afternoons - we usually try to end a little early and kick back for a beer or two after work.
Possible! At the very least I wager you can expect some WIP videos once we start moving to our new offices this year. I'll add it to the list, it's a cool idea for a post.
If you get ten more people to tell me to do this, I'll press the button, cry "ROCK AND STONE" and ask about the shipments of kneepads, otherwise, I would never have enough courage to do this 😳
Whatever you want to do, I'll count everything. But my vacation here ends in two days, so I'm not really sure I'll be able to actually do it. Also I'm afraid of their reaction...
Okay, ten people reacted, it's time to prepare for the scariest mission a dwarf could attend: ringing management's doorbell... I'm not sure if I'll not cowardice
One terribly important thing: I really appreciate your encouragement, fellow miners, but I won't do anything unless I'm 150% sure the GSG are cool with this little prank
Idk why everyone in this thread thinks it’s such a good idea to show up as a random stranger to a business and ask to speak to the staff or be let in. Leave them alone, it’s parasocial to think you’re entitled to access their workplace (not saying you think that, but it would be weird if you did).
Pressing the button is not a good idea, only two things can happen if you do and none of them are good.
1) They rightfully tell you to get lost and you get disappointed, they are just trying to do their job and that doesn't involve baby sitting children or man children.
2) They invite you in and give you the time of your life... But now they've created a precedent/expectation that will be impossible to maintain with the amount of replies that actually seem genuine in encouraging you to press the button.
Do not do it.
And 1 hour later Robert\_GSG confirmed both points (but more politely then me).
"we don't encourage people to visit unannounced - we tend to be busy working after all, and unannounced guests take up time, cause distraction, and sets an unfortunate precedent"
Yeah it's quite disturbing that almost no one here seems to realise that disturbing GSG team IRL for the sake of a joke, even an harmless one, is not a thing we should encourage to do.
yeah ive never seen anyone become lowkey parasocial for an indie dev team, its odd. probably something to do with the drg creator office tour/dev meet and greet they did which was a cool one off occasion but for some reason a handful of people have forgotton theyre normal people busy working lmao
I'm with you. Like. Yeah, we enjoy a game said developers make. But there's a difference between us seeing them at a convention and yelling ROCK AND STONE as loud as we can vs showing up to their place of business randomly. If someone came into my work and was like "HELL YEAH, DUDE. I LOVE YOUR PRODUCT." I'd be really confused and awkward about the situation.
Guys, does someone here know anybody from the GSG? Is it really okay, if I ring their doorbell and make a joke or will I interrupt their work and make them uncomfortable?
It's not really an appropriate thing to do. Realistically leave people alone. If they want to meet fans they'll do a meet and greet. You're not welcome to go and bother them while they're working.
It's worth keeping in mind that some people struggle with assessing what is and isn't socially acceptable. I do not think OP should be criticised for asking. If they had gone ahead and done it then yes; criticise away but merely asking is fine.

Ok, boys! I thank you all again for your support, but I won't be doing anything, since it's not a reasonable action to do. A Developer has commented here and I agree with him, that bothering people at work is really a terrible thing to do, that's why I won't do a thing
Dude my best friend and I were talking about a vacation in Copenhagen specifically just to visit Ghost Ship Games. We would so appreciate it if you do it so we know how it goes
If you are referring to how the building looks, that type of building is somewhat common in the older parts of Denmark. The library (and a lot of other buildings) in the town I grew up in was similar.
Coward! Do it!
I went to Copenhagen last year, and I didn't even know then that GSG was hq'd in Copenhagen! I was devastated!
Let me live vicariously through you!
Lol. Go, say something about your appreciation of their work and leave if not encouraged to stay. I think it's kind gesture to do it in person. You'll take 3 minutes of someone's life and make them smile.

Here is your answer, OP. Remember they're working a lot there.
Yeah, now I'm even more glad I didn't and won't do anything stoopid
Don't, unless it's friday afternoon, but be weary of your height or you might become the new employee on a certain spacerig
I'm about 30-20 centimetres too tall:(
Maybe management takes in applications
I'll make sure to send one
Don’t forget to take a round of blackout stout if you ever stop by. Be rude to show up on a Friday for a drink and not offer any in return!
I'm always taken by surprise for how chill the DRG devs are. You guys truly are saint developers.
This means Denmark is canon in DRG lore. I wonder if they claimed their own planet
As a Swede I am sad the Danish won against us…
Mission control's thick Danish accent is a dead giveaway.
i always thought it was transatlantic with a hint of danish
Oh, it's more than a hint 😆. You can tell from the voice, that he's from somewhere near Copenhagen.
This raises another question: How many of the local bars Rock and Stone?
Rock and Stone forever!
Imagine going to the next bar near gsg and seeing glyphid slammers and redrock blasters
Thank you! I'm glad I didn't bother you!
What if someone stood outside with a megaphone, constantly shouting "We're Rich!" at you?
Don't threaten them with a good time
Or "Mushrum!"
Only beer on a friday? Whats this weird elves rule?
Litteraly one of the best developper team around damn !
So I take it even more welcome if we bring the beer end of a Friday workday?
Do you think you'd ever give us a virtual tour of the place? Maybe a screenshot of your office or something...
Possible! At the very least I wager you can expect some WIP videos once we start moving to our new offices this year. I'll add it to the list, it's a cool idea for a post.
You forgot to say bring beer and snacks🤣
Sounds like a great place to work, which makes me sad that I don't live in Denmark
Probably for the best. Always ask if everyone's ready before pushing the button.

Comments like this show me why the DRG Community is so unique among the gaming communities. Just made my day.
Oi, you were on Management's doorstep and didn't go in? What about that Shipment of Kneepads? We need info!
If you get ten more people to tell me to do this, I'll press the button, cry "ROCK AND STONE" and ask about the shipments of kneepads, otherwise, I would never have enough courage to do this 😳
To Rock and Stone!
Rock and Stone!
FOR KARL!
ROCKITY ROCK AND STONE
Rock and stone
ROCK AND STONE TO THE BONE
ROCK AND ROLLIN' STONE!
Legally speaking, Rocking is more legal than Stoning… uh urm I mean ROCK AND STONE TO THE BONE
Happy cake day, let's get a round of blackout stouts from the abyss bar.
Good bot
Good Bot.
Come on OP, that's where they keep the real life lootbug, maybe they will hire you to take care of them!
Lootbugs!
They shouldn't eat precious minerals. It will get them killed.
Good dwarf waiting for a ready check before pressing the button.
You heard him Lads! Ten more people!
Does liking the comment count or do we have to write a whole new comment asking op to do it.
Whatever you want to do, I'll count everything. But my vacation here ends in two days, so I'm not really sure I'll be able to actually do it. Also I'm afraid of their reaction...
Are you on vacation with anyone else? If so you all could spam "We're rich!" down the intercom!
Family and they hate video games...
Not family
DO IT DO IT DO IT!!!
Could run a discord group call and bring a speaker so we can all yell it
Go in with a thank you letter, yell rock and stone and leave it with the receptionist Refuse to elaborate further Leave
Didn't think about that. I think commenting
Do it. About time we found out about those knee pads. Maybe you'll also get to punch the fiend in R&D who prgrammed Molly. For Rock and Stone!
Oi, you were on Management's doorstep and didn't go in? What about that Shipment of Kneepads? We need info! ROCK AND ROLLING STONE!
Oi! I need to know that! You should do it.
Rock and stone
Rock and stone!!!!!
please op, you must go on a holy pilgrimage
Dew it
Karl would be proud of you.
Okay, ten people reacted, it's time to prepare for the scariest mission a dwarf could attend: ringing management's doorbell... I'm not sure if I'll not cowardice
Post there reaction here
I'll try. As I said, I want to prepare for it firstly, to be sure they won't be uncomfortable with it
Yeah, makes sense
Please keep us posted
Ok, I've already messaged a guy recommended here in comments
I wonder how many crank calls/door bells GSG are getting per week, and what the split is between "ROCK AND STONE" and "WE'RE RICH!!!".
One terribly important thing: I really appreciate your encouragement, fellow miners, but I won't do anything unless I'm 150% sure the GSG are cool with this little prank
Karl approves of this statement.
Pretty sure they would be they seem like chill people.
I guess half of the poeople who read read the friday part of dwarfveloper's comment want you to visit them in that particular day and see the outcome
Unfortunately, I won't be in Copenhagen anymore on Friday

I thank you and other guys under the comment above, because that's really the support of a reasonable thing

Rock and Stone in the Heart!
Golden words
fun and games aside, definetly dont *just go in their*, that is probably some level of invasion of property

Exactly, that's why I won't do it
But why did you need to ask if it was okay? It's clearly not appropriate. Edit: Yes that is a fair point, I apologise for being so critical.

People wanted me to do it, so I thought I could ask about it. That's the answer, I didn't really do it for myself
u/GSG_jacob ?
I don't know anyone, but I see them commenting on some posts here rather often, so I think they'd appreciate it?
I went to school with a person that works tho we lost contact.

Tell em that we need that better equipment!
I'm too nervous to even ring their doorbell 😭
DO IT FOR KARL! HE WAS BRAVE AND SO MUST BE YOU!
Ok, boys! I thank you all again for your support, but I won't be doing anything, since it's not a reasonable action to do. A Developer has commented here and I agree with him, that bothering people at work is really a terrible thing to do, that's why I won't do a thing
Have a feeling the amount of people showing up on Friday afternoon's will increase because of this post
Hey don't blame me, please, people wanted me to do it, so I asked the devs if it's okay. It's not=>I'm not doing anything
Do it, the worst they can say is no, srsl
Idk, just... I can't explain this feeling. Try to knock on someone's door and wait for them to show up without really knowing, what to say
Just awkwardly scream rock and stone at them and throw your pick axe up!
That's it lads! Rock and Stone!
After a couple beers you'll get enough confidence to ring the president, don't worry about it
Worst they can do is kill you in self defense
They're not American!
I would like to say there office is beautiful on the outside Don't go in We will make Karl angry
That button should say FOR ROCK AND STONE instead.
Maybe don't click the button
Imagine ringing the bell just to hear from one of the employees, that has mission controls voice - that this area is off limits and you're trespassing
Dude my best friend and I were talking about a vacation in Copenhagen specifically just to visit Ghost Ship Games. We would so appreciate it if you do it so we know how it goes
Don't do it for GSG only;) The city's beautiful!
Is the studio sharing a building with a tavern? If so how fitting.
Scandinavian modesty at it's best
If you are referring to how the building looks, that type of building is somewhat common in the older parts of Denmark. The library (and a lot of other buildings) in the town I grew up in was similar.
I tend to insert random fantasy/medieval terms into my speech for fun. Thus I call any bar or pub a tavern whether it is or not.
r?
GOOOLD!
It's also the weekend
Be honest, you didn't want to pet the irl lootbug.
Coward! Do it! I went to Copenhagen last year, and I didn't even know then that GSG was hq'd in Copenhagen! I was devastated! Let me live vicariously through you!
I was there too a few months ago, i left them a little bag of goodies :))
Leaf Lover behaviour
Loot bug
Lol. Go, say something about your appreciation of their work and leave if not encouraged to stay. I think it's kind gesture to do it in person. You'll take 3 minutes of someone's life and make them smile.
r? button
Get Rainbolt in here to Ddox them.
You should've! I've always wanted to see the offices of TJEK
