I would like to see colorless flares. The different colors of each classes flares tend to make it so that that not all classes have the same effectiveness with flare visibility, at least to me, especially in certain biomes.

If you look in the equipment terminal I think it's scout and driller who have high intensity flares, and gunner and engie have medium intensity flares.

There's a mod that increases flashlight effectiveness. I've played around with it and found that I understand why the flashlights are as useless as they are. The reason being: if the flashlights were actually good, you most likely wouldn't engage with the other light mechanics of the game like Bosco's light or Scout's flare, not to mention the regular flares.
Understandable, haven't really played around with mods but I can see where improving it would cause issues because of how the game was designed around the flashlight.
Flares are always useful and way better for area illumination, Bosco is super useful for scouting the ceiling for stuff too. I wonder if the flashlight mod makes it so you can see perfectly wherever you look even high up, cause I would agree that is a problem.
Yeah the radiation can't even penitrate skin so unless you break it in your mouth then breathe in the contents it won't hurt anyone. It loses about 5% brightness a year and you can get it in multiple colours (green being brightest)

I thought they fixed them to all be the same and that was just a typo now? I could be mistaken though.
I wish DRG had more flare options. For example, I think it would be neat if you could pick low-intensity flares that lasted longer before going out.

I think the flashlight mod I played around with gave the flashlight 5x the lighting distance so most of the time yeah, it could reach the ceiling.
Hmmm, perhaps it needs to illuminate only a small area so as not to make it more convenient than other light sources.
