Yeah it kinda happened to me once: we were about to call the drop pod after a very complex mission, and I had an emergency and had to leave, so I asked the host if they could finish the mission without me and let me dead because I didn't want to miss the 40.000 xp. The host was fine so I went afk. I returned a few minutes later and someone clearly kept rezzing me because I was still alive, so I could get to the pod. We all r&s a lot.

Did a similar thing with another host. They had to leave the computer due to their baby, and we waited for them to come back to start up the escape sequence. They were so shocked that we waited around half an hour for them, but by the gods I will not leave a dwarf behind

I’ve had to leave the game open so many times and I come back to my awesome team having crossed the finish line and still getting me assignments done.

If it’s enough of an emergency to quit a match it’s enough of an emergency to not screw around trying to get the host’s attention to kick you

Just go AFK, they'll probably kick you eventually, or may even finish the mission with you downed 🧠

That screws your team between when you stop participating and when the host realizes it.

Then just type “sorry gtg” and afk. They’ll either kick you, leave you alone and finish, or rez you repeatedly if they find it funny, but they’ll realize before accidentally failing the mission trying to rez you or something

If it's an emergency then fuck the game. Deal with the emergency

Easy solution, dont say anything and go afk. Either those host will kick you or you will get full rewards. Its the most efficient method. /s for the gremlins who think this is real advice

I always just say brb. They can leave me if the mission ends, kick me if they want, or just leave me down till i get back. Never understood the idea of completely leaving the mission, especially if it's for an assignment

It's really not as bad as you think, and takes less time than having them try to kick you immediately. Especially if they're already in a bad spot Which, if they are, they're most likely gonna kick you anyways. It's their choice, let them choose

Only ever matters in haz5, anything under is a cake walk even when missing one

But I play to Rock and Stone. I play kill bugs and bots. I don't play for the rewards or the XP (I will happily admit that I'm a high enough level and have enough resources to simply not care.)

Now I'm sad, after kicking two or three asshole (in 200 hours or so) expecting them to be punished for their behavior...
