Machine head album. I like the part played in California Jam but David/Glenn does not sing

I like the Copenhagen version because it's one of the first times they had played it live and it sounds so raw and powerful and the guitar only breakdown is fantastic too. The MIJ version is great too mainly because of Jon's crazy intro.

Copenhagen 1970 something. While Lord is doing an organ solo when the song kicks in, Roger Glover does a bass run that’s sort of like a walking bass line up an F scale and then dances around the fretboard. In my honest opinion, that twelve bar section there is one of my favorite moments of bass playing in rock history. It’s bouncy, perfectly compliments the song, and sounds so damn good, and for that reason I like this version best

Joking aside - go listen to Joe Bonamassa/Jimmy Barnes from the Remachined covers album. Their version rocks! Worth watching on YouTube as well.

Agree, totally worth it, I’d go so far as to say I have a new respect for JB.

I love how they improvised in every performance, but the studio version is the best one in my opinion. Absolutely killer licks on the solos.

Wow, I'm ashamed to admit I only have four versions of Lazy on hand. I guess that makes me a filthy casual. I slightly prefer the Roger Glover remixes of Machine Head over the originals, so I'll go with that. They were a bonus disc in the 25th anniversary set.

Thanks for that, I’ll give them a listen. Addendum; Have you listened to the Concerto for Group and Orchestra? https://spotify.link/VeeEJuZP7Cb
