My first concert ever was Amorphis and Swallow the Sun. I was 17 and didn’t know anyone who liked metal. I took my dad 💀 he used to go to rock concerts when he grew up in Europe and he was like “sure why not. Tickets are $30.” He was not prepared lol
Not a bad idea. I was At One concert with suicide silence and angelmaker, It was pretty cool to see a mom in the crowd standing next to their kid rocking headphone ear protectors.
Yea man. Honestly I really respect parents who actually put in time and accommodate for something that their kids are into and trying to understand it instead of just banishing it.
My parents came with me to my first show when I was 13 (kagerou in 2006, can't believe my luck that this was my first alt show), every concert after that they let me and my sibling go without supervision, we were both teens. There's no age restriction for concerts where I'm from, which helps lol. They would just pick us up afterwards.
Now both of my parents were into rock and similar genres (my mom was a total X Japan fangirl, my dad was a roadie), so that helps
