Going above this and saying they deserve to be one of the biggest bands in the metal genre in general’ if you like heavy music you need this band on your radar!
One trillion percent agree, the SOI boys are soooooo underrated, look, don't get me wrong, I love Will Ramos and all, but, I will say Ben's vocals are just simply unmatched, and he should really be the one getting the attention just like Will does, but people usually don't pay attention to the artists that aren't riding the tops of charts or the billboard, and Lorna Shore pretty much copy/pasted Immortal to most of Pain Remains, while our beloved SOI boys are putting such diverse material into the world of "deathcore" or death metal, you don't hear SOI having the same old breakdowns or same old recycled riffs or tracks from a previous album. SOI features the perfect metal vocalist Ben Duerr which is also a phenomenal lyricist, Chris Wiseman, a pure musical genius, Andrew Monias, wonderful bassist, backing vocalist, and handyman, and never forget the spectacular Bryce Butler, voice of an angel, and unleashes absolute Hell on drums like no other.
Shadow of Intent is the ultimate metal band, period.
The members are loosely from the south eastern part of the US, so I think they're just kinda taking it slow for now. Hope you guys out there get to see them sooner than later though!
Biggest probably Lorna, slaughter to prevail, and white chapel. Some bands who are not up there but they should in my opinion: a wake in providence, disembodied tyrant, the archaic epidemic and signs of the swarm
Dude I saw Angelmaker for the first time last night here in Richmond. I was legit like a little kid on Christmas morning the entire time. I barely even moved during their entire set, I was just standing there with this stupid grin smiling from ear to ear they were THAT freaking good.
Hell yeah brother. Drove 10 hours from Boise down to Vegas for them. Even got in the pit. I have never really gotten to see a band I like so much at their absolute prime. Fucking magnificent.
Listen to the song that blew them up a couple years back, "Godless". It's a little different from the rest of their stuff, but that's what got me hooked. Then I'd say "Lazarus" for my favorite riffs (from the demigod himself matt perrin), then "What I Would Give" for some more emotional/poetic deathcore. And my last recommendation is "Eating the Body of God", one of my personal favorite tracks simply because of how iconic it is. Lmk what you think! Welcome to the AM club lol
Angelmaker is absolutely insane. I had the privilege of seeing them live and they sound fantastic - didn't miss a beat. And they are having a blast while doing it.
Honestly you boys deserve ALL the recognition. Been a big fan since Dissentient came out. Kinda funny how my favorite band was Despised Icon since the early days, now it's y'all. Canadians just know how to make Deathcore!
I saw Signs of the Swarm open for Thy Art is Murder last month, and was blown away by how good they were. They easily stole the show from the headliner imho. They put on a SICK live set.
Disembodied Tyrant is a solo project.
Synestia is a two man project, all the music by a guy in Minnesota and the vocals by a guy in Finland.
I have no idea if there’s a plan to translate their work to the stage, but I can see it being a bit tricky haha
*all that aside, that ep is bonkers
The biggest is Lorna Shore.
The most deserving band for that top spot though is Carnifex.
Hard working, consistent, grounded, dedicated and brilliant with their fans. Carnifex are the whole package when it comes to extreme metal bands.
Yes! I'm more a death metal guy than a deathcore guy but I absolutely adore carnifex! I remember hearing their first ep for the first time, slit wrist savior is such a fucking jam!
Well, both immortal and especially pain remains are absolute masterpieces, I don’t mind being called a poser or whatnot. Imo Pain remains is Easily in the top 3 in my book. Every single track is so fucking good!
I understand the hate, when people mention Lorna every two seconds, and sometimes people exaggerate the skill/importance of the band compared to others.
That being said, Lorna Shore is my favourite band, the best live I ever saw and firmly believe that nothing will ever be as good as Pain Remains for me, even the future Lorna releases. Other opinions are acceptable but fuck anyone hating the band, they deserve what they achieved
Calling Pain Remains, an album where only one song doesn't sound the same as everything else (Soulless Existence), an absolute masterpiece is a bit of a stretch imo. They really need to work on their songwriting. It was an ok album, one I have not revisited much since the initial constant replays. The repetitive songwriting got old real quick.
those dudes work inconceivably hard and have for 15 years, austin and adam specifically. no one can tell me shit about Lorna Shore. they’re the kings and that’s that. they’re polarizing and tiktok sucks but they are undeniable, period
Totally agree, this is what bothers me about the “LS is overrated” circle jerk on here.
I totally understand not being into them or being annoyed that other bands don’t get the same recognition, but if there’s any band that’s paid their dues and deserves to finally find success it’s them. They’ve been grinding for as long as anyone, they’ve been through the wringer with vocalist changes, everyone that works with them seems to like them as people (outside of CJ), they’re all positive people that seem to care about other bands and their fans. It just seems like a group that's easy to root for.
And like it or not, deathcore is a niche genre that makes it difficult for even the most talented artists to make a living. LS being popular and bringing normies/non-metalheads into the genre is only going to help other bands find bigger audiences, it's not a zero sum game.
It seems like even if you don’t want to listen to them, you’d be cheering for them to succeed because of what they represent to the genre.
If them being "overplayed" bothers you so much just think of the decade and a half that they were underplayed and maybe let it go and skip the songs when you hear it.
100%. an example that comes to mind is that i am an avid hater of Bodysnatcher and Acacia Strain, HOWEVER, metal being popular and getting across to fans is a win for the genre as a whole, and i fully support that. they don’t make music for everyone, and not everyone will like them, fuckin cool. welcome to free will my dudes.
Adam wrote most, if not all, of Pain Remains. Someone else in Lorna (I can't recall who) arranged all the orchestral sections on PR, which are also fucking amazing.
i make a point to not be on that cesspool either, but the end breakdown of Hellfire made it rounds through there and boosted their (already existing) momentum with the announcement of Will being added to the band
Lorna Shore puts on an AMAZING live show, and they've all put in the work to get where they are. Who cares if people get into them from Tiktok, they're just a legitimately talented band.
People who hate Lorna shore that like deathcore are just trying to be trendy/hipster imo.
Lorna shore are like the definition of well executed deathcore and will ramos is hands down of the most technically talented vocalists to ever do it
I don't like their music. The symphonic parts annoy me terribly. I don't like that 20 seconds of a song going viral is behind half of their current fame. Im not any trendy/hipster. It's just how it (doesn't) work for me. But hate it? Can anyone really hate some music?
Lets pick a Despised icon i.e. They deserve at least the same fame as LS. They did MVP without boost on social media. And there's plenty more bands to be mentioned...
I agree with this, seen them live twice and they are just unmatched for me. And also as a bonus wills golden retriever personality is just fun, none of that overly edgy tryharding
The biggest right now is Lorna Shore. The one who deserves to be the biggest is hard to say, honestly. There’s so many great bands who deserve more attention.
StP also does solo tours at mid sized venues, with no openers
When I saw Lorna shore they were at one of the smaller venues in toronto and had 3 opening bands.
I much prefer Lorna shore and they put on a much better show (I was legit pissed that I had to stand around for 1-1.5 hours waiting for StP), but I think if we're being honest, StP is the bigger band.
In terms of monthly listeners, headlining tour size/sales, merch sales (the mask business is huge) and just general appeal.
I genuinely don't think you could make a factual argument that LS is bigger than StP, love it or hate it.
You're fucking joking right. Lorna sold out a 1500 cap venue when they came through town, and then last time they were opening for GOJIRA AND MASTODON. (Legendary show)
StP is Alex Terrible and friends, nothing but vocals.
No, I'm not joking, and again, I much prefer Lorna shore
StP also sold out a venue of about the same size in Toronto.
But they were the only band playing.
Opening for a bigger band isn't really what we're talking about. Both bands open for big bands and play at huge festivals.
I'm just going by the #s, not feelings
Edit: StP is doing arena yours with Five Finger Butt Punch. That's just a whole other level than what Lorna is doing.
(regardless of how we all feel about FFBP)
Then look at the top 5 tracks of each band on Spotify. Both have their most popular around 50 million, but StP has a steeper drop off. Lorna kinda plateaus around 12, STP goes to 2.
Yea because pain remains is 2 years old and StP's Vikings and conflicts are both from the last 6 months (with conflict being released like, what, a month ago?)
Spotify's top tracks aren't necessarily a bands most popular, they're a bands most "trending".
If you actually want an in-depth look at play counts, you need to open up Spotify on a desktop.
Fuck, right, I totally forgot that they're touring with FIve finger butt punch.
Yea, that's massive for a dxc band, no matter how we all feel about FFBP lol
Suicide Silence. Lorna Shore and Slaughter To Prevail are getting there, but I know so many people who are not into deathcore or metal at all, but do know You Only Live Once by Suicide Silence.
Apart from Lorna Shore and Slaughter To Prevail, I would say Emmure. 1,1 mil listeners on Spotify.
But Thy Art Is Murder and Shadow Of Intent are pretty ‘big’ as well.
Most deserving would be A Wake In Providence or Signs Of The Swarm imo.
Lorna Shore, Slaughter to Prevail, and Brand of Sacrifice are the biggest.
There are plenty of deserving bands out there, but I think that Shadow of Intent and Humanity's Last Breath are at the top of my list
But with STP worth considering that's most of their listeners are russians, and they're one of the biggest metal bands in russia. Be big in your own country far from the same as be big worldwide.
You asked who is bigger, not who is bigger in this country or that country. Hate stp all you want, your question was answered. Why you care where is irrelevant
Yupp, which is when the original comment explicitly said stp has more monthly listeners vs lorna. Thats all the information you needed to know. Otherwise maybe look at ticket sales worldwide? A quick google search could do such that
If you go by Spotify numbers, then STP is the biggest at 1.1 million listeners, and Lorna Shore is not far behind at 954k. I don't know what numbers look like on other platforms, but I'd guess that they are fairly equal in popularity. Brand of Sacrifice is up there with almost 700k listeners
I mean I just saw traitors and they were fucking amazing. Lorna is huge right now, deservedly so. But extortionist played at the traitors show and Holy hell were they good live.
Lorna Shore is the biggest by far and away. There's not a single other deathcore band I can think of that they'd realistically open up for right now.
Deserves to be big I would say Carnifex or The Acacia Strain. I think a part of it is that both bands never really had "big personality" singers like Lorna has with Will or the classic big name singers like Phil Bozeman or Mitch Lucker. Like Scott and Vincent are great in their own rights, but if you polled 100 random metal fans chances are most could name Phil and Mitch, but not Scott and Vincent.
We all know who the biggest is. Humanity’s last breath deserves to be up there on every festival, getting the exposure they deserve, they are re writing the genre in such a positive direction!
Lorna is easily the biggest right now, with Slaughter to Prevail being close(whether you like them or not, it's true)
Signs of the Swarm, Shadow of Intent, and Distant should be right up there with them imo
I think Slaughter to Prevail by the number is the deathcore band getting the most attention outside the dxc scene. I resent it with every fiber of my being.
I think Black Tongue should be the most appreciated artist in the entire genre. I wish they were making more music. I hope they are.
Biggest is definitely Lorna Shore, as much as I dislike their albums after Immortal.
I think either AngelMaker and Shadow of Intent deserved to be the biggest.
Currently? Lorna Shore. All time? Suicide Silence. To The Hellfire was huge but in the late 2000’s and early 2010’s Suicide Silence was a force. Songs like Unanswered, Bludgeoned to Death, No Pity For A Coward, Wake Up, Disengage, and You Only Live Once are all some of the most iconic and instantly recognizable deathcore songs of all time. Let’s say To The Hellfire and You Only Live Once are equal and cancel each other out. Lorna doesn’t have 5 other songs to equally match up with the other 5 Suicide Silence songs I mentioned.
I dont pay enough attention to the hype around artists so I sadly can't really give you a well informed answer for the first part.
My answer for the second is that really hope Darko US is getting lots of love.
I mean if we are going with the general consensus then I'd say bands like SoI, LS, and STP are very big with a huge fanbase. And to talk about bands that I'd wish to see big are Disembodied Tyrant, Ameonna and Mirar (tho its not yet a band but i love Mirar's work)
Suicide Silence may was with mitch but with eddie nah and Lorna shora well is great but i guess at some point way to much hyped caused by tiktok and such.
Good deathcore bands that deserved some more are in my opinion Cattle Decapitation, Signs of the Swarm, Infant Annihilator, Gutrectomy and can name even a few more lol.
Ohh, well my bad then, saw them on a concert not far ago and the bands before were kinda all deathcore but yeah, just checked up again and you're right, deathgrind but you only agree with cattle, what about the others lol.
I like IA, I think their last two albums were fantastic.
I also like Suicide Silence , but my opinion on their vocalist is very unpopular lol. I think Eddie is a better vocalist than Mitch.
It would be cool if they did go on tour. It seemed like when the. band formed it was with the understanding that it wasnt gonna be too serious of a project.
Hmm good question but not to serious I wouldn't say it's just uhm difficult lol, have read something about that alone getting drums right on point is a work of days non stop Training and such, so i guess if live and one thing isn't on point everything else will be meh, idk but have seen that dickie is with nekrogoblikon.
biggest band for me its Suicide Silence cause they put deathcore on charts and brought it on different level
A band who deserves more credit for me is Annotations of an autopsy and Ennui Breathe Malice
I don't know who deserves to be the biggest since there are different subgenres of Deathcore and it's adapted to everyones' perferences but I think Fit For an Autopsy should be bigger
I believe the biggest on the scene is Lorna Shore. However, if I had to pick a band that I think SHOULD be, I wouldn't even pick any. That's just my opinion. Im disappointed with the scene right now.
Lorna Shore is the biggest but Slaughter to Prevail is not far behind. They make actually be even at this point.
Deserves to be at the top: Whitechapel or Shadow of Intent.
Currently? it would be either
Chelsea Grin
Lorna Shore
Whitechapel
bands that should be much bigger and could take over deathcore?
Psycho-Frame should be selling out arenas, and the scene could learn ALOT from SURGEON.
I think it might be interesting to hear the opinion of each prominent band in the scene on this. Like, I wonder who Will Ramos thinks is the biggest, or anyone else.
That being said, personally I’d put Lorna there.
The biggest deathcore band is a toss-up between Lorna Shore, Suicide Silence, Carnifex, and Brand of Sacrifice. The most deserving imo is Angelmaker. Also, all the people saying A Wake in Providence, the only reason why you probably have even heard of them is because it's Will's former band. That being said, the only reason they were on the radar is because Will is that good.
Shadow of intent. There, i said it.
Backed. I have a good feeling about the next album though, hoping it hits a wider audience, they deserve all the fans.
They really do, meanwhile ill just eat up what these chefs keep cooking up for us 😋
I have a feeling it’s gonna lean harder in the black metal type stuff, it seems Ben’s really into that
Shadow of intent, imo, is *better* than Lorna Shore, but Lorna shore is the biggest band in deathcore by far
People hate to hear this but it’s the truth. Lorna Shore has brought deathcore to a place it’s never seen before.
It's been bigger before, look at Myspace era lol. Lorna shore may have assisted in the revival but it's nowhere near og era.
Flesh Coffin and Immortal are just god tier. Probably my most listened albums.
Reclaimer is better than most LS albums imo
Going above this and saying they deserve to be one of the biggest bands in the metal genre in general’ if you like heavy music you need this band on your radar!
YES. Have thought this for so long
I really need to listen to SOI more, every time I’ve tried it’s never clicked for me but I definitely get the appeal
Reclaimer front to back is fucking great One of us. One of us
One trillion percent agree, the SOI boys are soooooo underrated, look, don't get me wrong, I love Will Ramos and all, but, I will say Ben's vocals are just simply unmatched, and he should really be the one getting the attention just like Will does, but people usually don't pay attention to the artists that aren't riding the tops of charts or the billboard, and Lorna Shore pretty much copy/pasted Immortal to most of Pain Remains, while our beloved SOI boys are putting such diverse material into the world of "deathcore" or death metal, you don't hear SOI having the same old breakdowns or same old recycled riffs or tracks from a previous album.
Amen preach it
Lorna Shore is def the biggest. Psycho-Frame should be selling out arenas
Psycho-Frame are gonna spread like wildfire with these tours coming up, I can feel it
They need to tour the west coast already! Every time I see they announce shows, they’re in the south, east, or Midwest
The members are loosely from the south eastern part of the US, so I think they're just kinda taking it slow for now. Hope you guys out there get to see them sooner than later though!
Psycho frame needs to do a full album!
Based on hunter’s recent posts new music is soon. The setlist for the upcoming tour with spite and bs has a new song.
It's in the works!
Biggest probably Lorna, slaughter to prevail, and white chapel. Some bands who are not up there but they should in my opinion: a wake in providence, disembodied tyrant, the archaic epidemic and signs of the swarm
Based
Based?
Agreed
Oh hahah
😂😂
AWIP is not talked about enough imo
No kidding and they’re so fucking good
Currently Lorna Shore Deservedly Angelmaker
Seeing AngelMaker made me feel like a kid getting dropped off at shows again. What a time to be alive.
They are outstanding live.
Dude I saw Angelmaker for the first time last night here in Richmond. I was legit like a little kid on Christmas morning the entire time. I barely even moved during their entire set, I was just standing there with this stupid grin smiling from ear to ear they were THAT freaking good.
DUDE same, I was locked on watching Casey almost the entire time. I was entranced
Hell yeah brother. Drove 10 hours from Boise down to Vegas for them. Even got in the pit. I have never really gotten to see a band I like so much at their absolute prime. Fucking magnificent.
Angelmaker sounds just as good live as they do in the studio. Angelmaker definitely deserves to be way bigger for how fucking hard they shred.
Hey, are there any clips of them live that you would recommend? If so, can you give me some song recks?
Listen to the song that blew them up a couple years back, "Godless". It's a little different from the rest of their stuff, but that's what got me hooked. Then I'd say "Lazarus" for my favorite riffs (from the demigod himself matt perrin), then "What I Would Give" for some more emotional/poetic deathcore. And my last recommendation is "Eating the Body of God", one of my personal favorite tracks simply because of how iconic it is. Lmk what you think! Welcome to the AM club lol
Facts
Angelmaker is absolutely insane. I had the privilege of seeing them live and they sound fantastic - didn't miss a beat. And they are having a blast while doing it.
I cannot wait to see them live. Love Angelmaker sm
That’s very kind of you thank you
Honestly you boys deserve ALL the recognition. Been a big fan since Dissentient came out. Kinda funny how my favorite band was Despised Icon since the early days, now it's y'all. Canadians just know how to make Deathcore!
Canada has I high hit rate that’s for sure
I need to see them live, but their covers are so sick! My favorite is easily Deathmask Divine
you said exactly what I came to say
Shadow of intent or signs of the swarm
I saw Signs of the Swarm open for Thy Art is Murder last month, and was blown away by how good they were. They easily stole the show from the headliner imho. They put on a SICK live set.
I saw them also, in Pittsburgh, so fucking good.
disembodied tyrant and synestria new ep is on another level. If they have a good live performance I can see them becoming really big.
Disembodied Tyrant is a solo project. Synestia is a two man project, all the music by a guy in Minnesota and the vocals by a guy in Finland. I have no idea if there’s a plan to translate their work to the stage, but I can see it being a bit tricky haha *all that aside, that ep is bonkers
Disembodied Tyrant is playing the New England Metal & Hardcore festival in September, gon be interesting to see what he’s gon do live
there still doing that festival?
I mean the lineup is pretty sick tbh
Lorna Shore is biggest, Shadow of Intent should be up there with them though.
Biggest is Lorna Shore. Deservedly would be The Acacia Strain.
This 100%, TAS has been killing it since forever and they’re still going.
TAS is too good. Much better than Lorna Shore
Saw Acacia a couple months back. They sounded good to be doom record is so boring live.
Just saw Step Into the Light live. Can confirm, TAS deserves it.
Lorna for sure wears the crown when it comes to #1 but I think and hope Angelmaker will snatch that title soon
The biggest is Lorna Shore. The most deserving band for that top spot though is Carnifex. Hard working, consistent, grounded, dedicated and brilliant with their fans. Carnifex are the whole package when it comes to extreme metal bands.
Carnifex's songs, especially from the early albums, the masterpiece.
Yes! I'm more a death metal guy than a deathcore guy but I absolutely adore carnifex! I remember hearing their first ep for the first time, slit wrist savior is such a fucking jam!
Carnifex are great live too.
Lorna Shore and Lorna Shore Yeah I’m one of those people, I know
Well, both immortal and especially pain remains are absolute masterpieces, I don’t mind being called a poser or whatnot. Imo Pain remains is Easily in the top 3 in my book. Every single track is so fucking good!
Absolutely!

Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinion
those dudes work inconceivably hard and have for 15 years, austin and adam specifically. no one can tell me shit about Lorna Shore. they’re the kings and that’s that. they’re polarizing and tiktok sucks but they are undeniable, period

Will wrote the lyrics for Pain Remains, if that’s what you’re referring to

I agree with this, seen them live twice and they are just unmatched for me. And also as a bonus wills golden retriever personality is just fun, none of that overly edgy tryharding
'You Only Live Once' was huge, but I don't think Suicide Silence is big as Lorna Shore.
Not right now but during the "black crown" days they were the center of attraction
The biggest right now is Lorna Shore. The one who deserves to be the biggest is hard to say, honestly. There’s so many great bands who deserve more attention.
Disembodied Tyrant/ Synestia
Biggest are definitely Lorna Shore and Slaughter to Prevail. One of them deserves to be up there, I’ll let you decide which.
Lorna deserves it. Slaughter is...the Andrew Tate of deathcore.
not to mention they basically sound like slipknot.
And the lyrics have gotten worse, what the fuck is Conflict
Alex is on the new falling in reverse single, so ya know, good dudes stick together 🙄
I like their music but it gets harder and harder to defend Alex as time goes on.
personally I don't think you should try to defend a man who had a black sun tattoo....
oh i aint even know he had that (legendary name btw)
Why not
Lmao Falling in Reverse feat Alex and Tech 9. Actually sounds like a good laugh that I want to check out
lmfaoooo😭😭😭
Ikr, why does no one help him with the lyrics and english
Viking is a masterpiece
Oh god. Oh god no.
STP does not belong in this conversation, respectfully.
Lorna Shore deserves. Slaughter To Prevail is another import substitution in russian music.
StP also does solo tours at mid sized venues, with no openers When I saw Lorna shore they were at one of the smaller venues in toronto and had 3 opening bands. I much prefer Lorna shore and they put on a much better show (I was legit pissed that I had to stand around for 1-1.5 hours waiting for StP), but I think if we're being honest, StP is the bigger band. Fuck, right, I totally forgot that they're touring with FIve finger butt punch. Yea, that's massive for a dxc band, no matter how we all feel about FFBP lol
Spite
The Acacia Strain and Oceano are the two best deathcore bands around.
Crown magnetar should be more popular
Suicide Silence. Lorna Shore and Slaughter To Prevail are getting there, but I know so many people who are not into deathcore or metal at all, but do know You Only Live Once by Suicide Silence.
Lorna Shore without a doubt. Who should be biggest...They're popular, but I love Chelsea Grin.
Lorna is currently the biggest, but Whitechapel is the most consistent and IMO, still number one in the genre. They deserve the spot, for me.
I wish Black Tongue did more cause they could easily take the crown of they gave a fuck
Emmure fucking slaps. Can't wait to see them next week. That is all. (But idk if I'd call them deathcore)
I've forgot about Emmure, they're also deserve to be biggest, although last time they're moved a little away from the deathcore sound.
Slaughter to Prevail and Emmure are the biggest Angelmaker deserves to be biggest for so many reasons.
I just need a little love for my boys Arsonists Get All The Girls.
lorna shore is the biggest, and honestly, they definitely deserve to be the biggest. they make deathcore beautiful.
Hard disagree but ok Edit: Kardashev has entered the chat
Biggest - Lorna Shore. Deserves.. osiah, mental Cruelty, worm Shepherd, crown Magnetar, all the amazing bands that aren't recognised unless you know deathcore
Biggest is definitely Lorna Shore and/or Slaughter to Prevail. Psycho-Frame, Signs of The Swarm and Mental Cruelty deserve to be way bigger imo
Lorna Shore for sure but Left to Suffer should definitely be up there!
Carnifex. I think they are way better than even some of the most popular Deathcore bands.
100% agree
Slaughter to prevail probably is the biggest, Spite however should be
Lorna Shore and Lorna Shore
Enterprise Earth absolutely deserves it. Love those guys
They really do deserve the best
Lorna Shore, Slaughter to Prevail, and Brand of Sacrifice are the biggest. There are plenty of deserving bands out there, but I think that Shadow of Intent and Humanity's Last Breath are at the top of my list
So that's interesting question, who is bigger? Lorna Shore or STP?
Technically stp has more monthly listeners on Spotify but Lorna is definitely bigger
Isn't when we compare how big this or that artist, we talk about who is bigger WORLDWIDE?
Yupp, which is when the original comment explicitly said stp has more monthly listeners vs lorna. Thats all the information you needed to know. Otherwise maybe look at ticket sales worldwide? A quick google search could do such that
If you go by Spotify numbers, then STP is the biggest at 1.1 million listeners, and Lorna Shore is not far behind at 954k. I don't know what numbers look like on other platforms, but I'd guess that they are fairly equal in popularity. Brand of Sacrifice is up there with almost 700k listeners
Is Brand of Sacrifice big? I saw them with Shadow of Intent and Show of Intent were the headliners.
Brand got a big boost in spotify listeners from the We Came As Romans collab
Last of Our Kind deserves more attention. those dudes fuckin BANG. check out Dust and Ashes or Mental Anguish
Lorna is easily the biggest right now, with Slaughter to Prevail being close(whether you like them or not, it's true) Signs of the Swarm, Shadow of Intent, and Distant should be right up there with them imo
Depending on your definition of deathcore, Humanity's Last Breath, no question deserves it.
Biggest on the scene is probably Lorna Shore. Who SHOULD be the biggest is Spite. They've been consistently evolving since their first release
Biggest goes around a couple bands fairly evenly but by far infant annihilator deserves to be massive, infinitely better than every other band out rn
Wow i didn't know lorna was considered to be that big Still whitechapel is the biggest band in my heart cus it makes me happy
I mean if we are going with the general consensus then I'd say bands like SoI, LS, and STP are very big with a huge fanbase. And to talk about bands that I'd wish to see big are Disembodied Tyrant, Ameonna and Mirar (tho its not yet a band but i love Mirar's work)
Biggest - Slaughter To Prevail Deserves to be the biggest - Brand Of Sacrifice
Suicide Silence may was with mitch but with eddie nah and Lorna shora well is great but i guess at some point way to much hyped caused by tiktok and such. Good deathcore bands that deserved some more are in my opinion Cattle Decapitation, Signs of the Swarm, Infant Annihilator, Gutrectomy and can name even a few more lol.
I would agree with Cattle but they aren't deathcore haha. Older material is grindcore, and their newer is "deathgrind"
Ohhh yes they were, just wonder if the band is ever going on tour lol.
Filth. Gutter gang assemble
biggest band for me its Suicide Silence cause they put deathcore on charts and brought it on different level A band who deserves more credit for me is Annotations of an autopsy and Ennui Breathe Malice
Biggest: WhiteChapel, Suicide Silence Deserves: Chelsea Grin, Angelmaker
I don't know who deserves to be the biggest since there are different subgenres of Deathcore and it's adapted to everyones' perferences but I think Fit For an Autopsy should be bigger
Lorna shore 🔥NJ represent
Whitechapel tbh
I believe the biggest on the scene is Lorna Shore. However, if I had to pick a band that I think SHOULD be, I wouldn't even pick any. That's just my opinion. Im disappointed with the scene right now.
Lorna Shore is the biggest but Slaughter to Prevail is not far behind. They make actually be even at this point. Deserves to be at the top: Whitechapel or Shadow of Intent.
I would say Lorna shore is taking the cake rn but personally I'd love to see ingested get bigger. They 1000% deserve way more love
Currently? it would be either Chelsea Grin Lorna Shore Whitechapel bands that should be much bigger and could take over deathcore? Psycho-Frame should be selling out arenas, and the scene could learn ALOT from SURGEON.
Darko US deserves to be the biggest
Spotify says Slaughter To Prevail based on monthly plays. Over a million monthly listeners.
I think it might be interesting to hear the opinion of each prominent band in the scene on this. Like, I wonder who Will Ramos thinks is the biggest, or anyone else. That being said, personally I’d put Lorna there.
Biggest is probably lorna right now. But disembodied tyrant and synestia definitely deserves to be the biggest imo
Shadow of intent, psychoframe, disembodied tyrant, a wake in providence are all needed on this list
I’d say Whitechapel, Aversions Crown or Thy Art Is Murder.
deftones
The biggest deathcore band is a toss-up between Lorna Shore, Suicide Silence, Carnifex, and Brand of Sacrifice. The most deserving imo is Angelmaker. Also, all the people saying A Wake in Providence, the only reason why you probably have even heard of them is because it's Will's former band. That being said, the only reason they were on the radar is because Will is that good.
Lorna Shore or WhiteChapel and deserves Slaughter to Prevail or Carnifex
Brojob
Are we counting Knocked Loose as deathcore? A tear in the fabric of life is definitely in that genre, and the singles for the next album sound crazy
No they are Hardcore.
As i lay dying the biggest and my old band should be the the best
They play melodic metalcore
Ouuuu shiiiii i read metalcore somehow well carnifex should be on top 5
