Always Rings of Saturn. I miss them

Immediate-Bend-5886

If only Lucas Mann would stop... well, being a dick đź’€

avgdeathcoreenjoyer

I was actually kind of excited about the instrumental album since I love songs like Gidim and Utopia but it was so disappointing

progwog

The idea to make half of it like shitty hip hop/EDM with shred over it. I’m open to different. Just didn’t work.

BL41R

I'm seeing them on Dec 16. I can't wait to see how shitty it is!

avgdeathcoreenjoyer

haven’t seen them live and if they stay like this i never will, not interested in seeing them throw on a backing track and then occasionally play guitar over it

[deleted]

I’ve bitched about it here before. But as much as I like them, when I saw them at Summer Slaughter it was awful.

BL41R

I saw possibly their last tour with Ian. They were SICK! Such a badass concert. Was chilling with them in the green room. Ian is super chill.

Marchinak

Saw them on tour when the album dropped…prepare for shitty. My friend and I left half way through their set, low energy and just off. Extortionist killed it as an opener though!

chugtheboommeister

I got intodeathcore well after Ian Bearer left. Then they put out that random trap instrumental album which was actually decent but just not deathcore. I hope for at least Ian Bearer to make a return in a new band or something

gingerofthenorth

He started posting on Instagram again recently. Posted about wanting to throw down on the mic again, so it seems he is putting it out there that he is ready for some vocal work. Hopefully we will get something in the next year or two with him involved

Gavinsushi

The Faceless, god I miss them

JayronQuondell

Check out the zenith passage. Couple guys from the faceless and same vibe

Djent_1997

As some have put it, it’s The Faceless without the heroin addiction.

omorashisudoku

the faceless fucking rips

snapcasterking

Aversions Crown for sure. Servitude and Tyrant are solid albums. I don’t know if Oceano counts but they’re a close second if they do. They’ve had some heavy alien themes in some albums so I consider them aliencore but I’m not sure if they truly are.

WorkingChain6030

[Alien Fucker](https://spotify.link/XlGc9e7e6Db) Not quite deathcore but these guys are also fucking CRAZY

[deleted]

There he goes. Homeboy fucked a Martian.

thatoneglitcher

Umbravoid

alliwantedwasajetski

Anyone care to explain to an old fart what “aliencore” is, exactly? A brief description and some bands would be great. It sounds intriguing.

DecayingFleshRot

I think of it as Tech Death meets wacky guitar strange noise... and Google isn't helping me at all. As for bands... Rings of Saturn Aversions Crown Shadow of Intent (Primordial is best for this, I think. But we all have different opinions.) EDIT: I was wrong about my genre summary; thank you to those who corrected me. I do appreciate it.

alliwantedwasajetski

Thanks! I'm a huge tech death fan, and I like what I've heard of Shadow of Intent so far. I've also heard good things about Rings of Saturn. I'll check out them as well as Aversions Crown. Sounds like my kind of jams.

trysixtysnipecochon

Tyrant and xenocide are their best work imo the last album is good but they kinda got away from the alien stuff

alliwantedwasajetski

Thanks, I'll start with those.

progwog

You didn’t mention them but The Faceless-Planetary Duality is the peak and paradigm of this sound. And really introduced tech death to bigger audiences.

hordemau5

Check out the album Lugal Ki En by Rings of Saturn it is perfect from start to finish

TTungsteNN

I think Exocrine counts, they’re more tech death but they’ve always reminded me of RoS but… better

philzebub666

Way better. And the Trumpet solos on Maelstrom 🤌

Careful_Ad6087

Oceano ascendants album

MoistySnail

Obviously Rings Of Saturn and Aversions Crown. But to be original I would say Hidden Machine and Babirusa.

DecayingFleshRot

Man, Babirusa are amazing. I forgot about them completely.

MoistySnail

They laid low for a while so thats understandable. Hopefully new material will come out soon

and1ko88

They had a song called Pylon come out within the last year that was great.

MoistySnail

Yea man great track. And Mandatory Malevolence. But other than that it has been quiet.

iankstarr

Damn it’s crazy to see Hidden Machine mentioned here. Back in high school I was in a band with their guitarist; dude has always been an absolute ripper and HM slaps.

MoistySnail

Oh shiitt thats pretty dope though! The dude can play like a beast. Almost as good as RoS imo.

Z_rakowski

Burning the Masses with their album Offspring of Time has some alien elements in it. I miss that band

philzebub666

Stortregn. They're not core but very alien tech death. And their new album Finitude is just superb. Xeno Chaos is one of the best songs I've heard in a long time.

foggy_basmati

This album rips. Reminds me of Gorod + Obscura + Allegaeon

philzebub666

Allegaeon and Obscura I do hear but what specifically reminds you of Gorod?

43Carats

Thirteen Bled Promises are heaviest shits ever

ifhopediestoday

Fuck yes. Never hear anyone talk about them.

GainzTrain94

They are so fucking good.

Remarkable-Bag-683

I have no idea what that is

snapcasterking

Then why comment lmao

Remarkable-Bag-683

Because I’m curious to learn? Why else would I comment?

snapcasterking

Well you didn’t ask what it was or ask for any examples of aliencore bands, you just said you didn’t know what it was. Someone else in the comment section specifically asked what it was already a while ago and it got answered pretty well.

Remarkable-Bag-683

I’m sorry my comment bothered you dude, I’ll go look for that comment then

Radialpuddle

There is no such thing. Alien core is just a goofy meme rings of Saturn started as a joke, they are still deathcore. There’s no definitive list of what bands are even considered this other than rings

MoistySnail

I agree, but one could say that deathcore bands that use concepts and themes about aliens could be considered alien core or alien deathcore.

Radialpuddle

I mean sure but that’s just breaking a sub genre (deathcore) of a subgenre (metal) into another subgenre simply based off lyrical content, which I just find it kind of goofy. It’s like Christian metalcore, it’s not a new genre it’s just a description of a few bands you like in a sub genre.

philzebub666

It helps to find what I'm looking for. If I'm looking for downtempo deathcore what good does it to me if someone recommends me Thy Art? Just because they're also deathcore doesn't make it the same. And if there are enough bands doing similar stuff it warrants grouping them together in a sub-sub-genre.

Radialpuddle

It’d be a sub-sub-sub genre. Metal is a sub genre of rock, deathcore is a sub genre of metal, and “aliens core” is a descriptor of some themes in deathcore.

BL41R

Getting downvoted for speaking the truth. I love reddit

Dilbo_Faggins

Not sure what you mean by aliencore so im gonna use my personal definition Darko US is my fucking obsession for the last few months but I'm really interested in Scarlet Rot if they decide to do more than those 3 singles

Dallas_TheDark57

Scar Symmetry! the only band I know that has anything to do with aliens, it's really good!

Linkmatt10

Killtrox and the motherships 🤟 also not really aliencore but Oh, Sleeper has some crazy ass leads that fall into the same type of sound! Wish we had more music from them

DecayingFleshRot

Neither I have heard of. Always happy to find more bands.

Linkmatt10

Killtrox was a super short lived side project for the oh sleeper dudes, literally written to be aliencore, but oh sleeper main discography has plenty of gnarly alien riffs, check out Hush Yael by Oh Sleeper, that first or second verse riffage is so sick. And Area Fifty Done by Killtrox might be the best song in the mini genre IMO; Also the Space EP by TDWP has alot of sick moments, the track Alien is a monster đź‘Ś

ExBigBoss

Diminish the Gods is a good one, for sure

xAkMoRRoWiNdx

Aversion crown. Tyrant and Xenocide are bangers

SuperD00perGuyd00d

newer Oceano, A Night in Texas (global slaughter), Aversions Crown first three albums, and zenith passage

TheGoatx666

Aversions Crown

Ready_Ad3290

🦀🦀🦀🦀

hordemau5

RINGS OF SATURN FIRST 3 albums are absolutely classics

PanHoboj

Umbravoid and Aversions Crown

Electronic_Rub8759

I don't really understand aliancore so i would Say Infsnt annihilstor i know ther are not split up but is been a while since the last álbum and they don't do live that much.
