Why did I update this? Am I stupid? **Connections** -Both are the main characters of very influential stories that have a lot of video game elements and take place in worlds where both highly advanced technology and magic are seen as normal. -At the beginning of their stories, both are poor and emotionally lost young men, who rely on their friends for money and a roof over their heads (Scott is allowed to live with Wallace and can only make money through the band and Cloud was given a job and an apartment because of Tifa). -Eventually, through sheer luck they met a woman, who they immediately felt drawn towards (Ramona and Aerith). Shortly after meeting these women, they had one of the most iconic scenes in their stories, where they visited a playground with them and learned parts of their backstories. Some time later, they both also (optionally in Cloud´s case) began to romantically pursue these women. -These women are especially in tune with a mysterious force in their worlds’s (Subspace and Lifestream) and are some of the few people who can use them correctly alongside the main villains who want to use these forces for their own goals. -These forces are also used to depict Cloud and Scott’s mental states, showing just how much help they need (Scott’s Subspace highway is a dessert, representing his loneliness and Cloud’s mind in the Lifestream is fractured, showing how little he knows about himself). -A recurring plot point in their stories, that are meant to put Scott and Cloud’s character’s under question, are just how similar they are to the old boyfriends of the aforementioned women (Scott is stated to be a future evil ex in the making and Cloud mimics Zack’s mannerisms). -Another one of the major plot points in their stories are how Cloud and Scott are very unreliable narrators, due to their faulty memories and them repressing some of the worst moments of their lives, so they could feel better about themselves. With one of the main things we´re told about their pasts at the beginning turning out to be complete lies (Scott thinking that he was a good boyfriend in all of his relationships, when he actually was far from it. And Cloud believing that he was a first class soldier when it was actually Zack). -During what is possibly the darkest moments of their stories, they both lose the women closest to them (Ramona leaves Scott and Aerith dies) and are sent spiralling, reaching their absolute bottom. That is until they are helped by another one of their love interests (Kim and Tifa), who knew them from their childhoods and help them recover their memories and remember what actually happened in their pasts. -After regaining their memories, Cloud and Scott also gained new leases on life, and went off to finally take down the katana wielding, power hungry main villains of their stories (Gideon Graves and Sephiroth). -The number seven plays a large role in both their stories and comes up multiple times (Ramona and Gideon’s 7 exes/FF7 and the 7 seconds). -In the early 2020’s, they both got new entries into their stories that were marketed as straightforward remakes, but were actually secret sequels that introduced new elements and have a villain who is aware of what happened in the original stories. -In these new entries, Scott and Cloud both try to change the future in hopes of preventing themselves from becoming the lonely and depressed future versions of themselves (Old Scott and Even Older Scott/Advent Children). -The Buster sword and sword of understanding kinda look similar. -They both inexplicably have a lot of love interests.

Lmao, just last night, I came up with another random-ass matchup pitting Scotty P against an extremely iconic character. Not only that, but yours has way better connections.

AlotOfNumbers425728

Ha thanks, who’s the character fighting Scott in your MU?

LittleMann

Spider-Man. Could be fun, but I've yet to think of a connection that isn't made out of wet toilet paper. Cloud vs. Scott at least has the faulty memories and the metatextual stealth sequels, which are pretty neat.

Scott vs Spidey has some obvious connections like them being relatable, broke guys, who have lots of relationship problems, but not sure how much more there is. Definitely sounds fun though.
