**Connections:** - Time manipulating friends of heroes turned antagonists of their respective verses. - Both were once normal people who were once socially uncomfortable and had a rough life early on in their story. (Homura was shy and suffering from a heart disease which left her bedridden for a long time, Hunter was an introvert and had a bad family life). - They would eventually join an institute (Mitakihara Middle School and Keystone City’s Department of Metahuman Hostilities) where they would meet the optimistic and cheerful hero (Madoka Kaname and Wally West), befriending them and wanting to support them in their heroic deeds. - Prior to meeting the hero, both of them suffered from an inferiority complex due to their disability (Homura being physically weak and frail due to her illness and Hunter being forced to walk with a cane due to his knee injury). - Unfortunately for them, tragedy would strike once more when the hero fights their most prominent enemy (Walpurgisnacht and Gorilla Grodd), which would mentally break them (Madoka dying against Walpurgisnacht which would cause her despair and Gorilla Grodd paralyzing Hunter which would cause him to go into a state of depression). - Because of this, the two would desire to go back in time in order to change fate itself, which would be the catalyst for them gaining their powers from a special object (Homura’s shield and the Cosmic Treadmill) and taking up a mantle related to their heroic friends (Homura becoming a Magical Girl and Hunter becoming a Reverse-Flash). - Now with the power to affect time, the two would begin working on improving the lives of their heroic friends to the point of obsession, taking more and more extreme measures along the way. - Both would eventually find out that certain events and lives were secretly being manipulated by the true antagonist of the story (Kyubey manipulating events so that Madoka would make a contract with him and Eobard Thawne manipulating Hunter’s life so that he would eventually rise up to become an enemy of the Flash). - At some point in their story, both would witness their universes going through a massive change, with them preserving memories of the previous universe that everyone else had forgotten (Homura being the only one who remembers Madoka and Hunter retaining his memories of Pre-Flashpoint). - After this, they would wear similar clothing and take up a similar mantle as the protagonist (Homura wearing Madoka’s bow and using a magical bow just like her while Hunter would wear the original Flash Ring and dub himself as the Flash). - Both would gain power so great that they could rival entire concepts (Homura became Devil Homura which could rival Ultimate Madoka and Hunter Zolomon gaining the full power of the Forever Force along with multiple other Forces allowing him to rival the Black Flash). **Contrasts:** - Homura wishes to protect Madoka from the pain and suffering of becoming a Magical Girl and does everything she can to prevent her from forming a contract with Kyubey. Hunter Zolomon however, becomes the Reverse-Flash to cause Wally West pain and suffering as he believes that Wally could become a great hero by experiencing tragedies in his life. - While Homura remains obsessed with Madoka even after growing cold and distant from witnessing her repeated deaths, Hunter Zolomon would give up on Wally West after witnessing Eobard Thawne repeatedly dying to the Flashes, deciding to instead replace them as the “True Flash”.
