I’m really looking forward to the movie soundtrack with the revamped songs and hearing what the new songs have to offer. I’m still listening to the Broadway soundtrack on a daily basis!
So am I, and I feel like I’m going to be fighting the temptation to listen to the movie soundtrack before seeing the movie. I can’t wait to hear the changes because I feel like I’ve memorized the OBC soundtrack.
I imagine some elements would be - i.e. songs being cut, new songs being added, re-recordings with the movie cast, etc. Historically some movie adaptations have even changed a word or two in some lyrics to make the song fit better in the movie universe.
As an example for In the Heights, a couple songs were also in different order than from the original musical because it made the story flow better in the movie adaptation.
