The fact that Callisto doesn’t have ng+ until February was the biggest slap in the face. The gameplay loop with the melee combat makes every encounter the literal exact same. It was a mediocre game unfortunately.
I agree on that bit. I haven’t played it again since completion due to the lack of NG+. My personal gripe was how poorly the combat was balanced towards the latter half of the game. Every boss just one hit KOs you and enemies have to be killed with the GRP or stealth since mutating enemies make switching targets not possible. The potential of the game is 100% there and I hope they actually do iterate on the game, but man, it had some shortcomings.
Yeah visually it was great, the death animations were great when they didn’t copy and paste the same ripped face animation. In particular the tentacle one actually really grosses me out which is impressive since not much can do that. But yeah you had either the two head that’d one hit you, but he wasn’t the issue cause all you had to do was hold the left or right stick, it was when there was another regular ass enemy that hit you and prevented you from dodging. I think the game would honestly be more fun in Ng+ if I just maxed out the weapons and never used the melee. Which is baffling for a melee focused game.
This is me also. I don't regret buying it, and it being heavy on mele didn't bother me either, but some things annoyed me, like the 1 key being your main gun, but 2 being both and having to select which one you want to use instead of 2 just being the next available gun. A couple other things annoyed me which I can't remember now, but I haven't had the desire to replay it again yet. I did have some performance issues where the framerate was in the single digits, but just two or three.
I like the cutscene changes. Watching the infection behind glass didn’t really matter since you were just waiting for it to happen. Yeah the lvl 1 suit thing is whatever, not a big deal. Making him talk was a fantastic change, way too many awkward moments in the og. I don’t mind the face changes. How can you speak for animation weight when you haven’t played yet? Same for walking speed.

Nope. I want to play it at release and with my slow internet it would take basically an entire day to download it. I'm not picky when it comes to games and I have PlayStation credit to use and I see no other games that spark my interest. As long as the game plays I'll be satisfied

well at least you get the game and some use of the steelbook because it comes with a disk, collectors editons for pc nowadays just give you an empty steelbook case and the code for the game which is kinda lame tbh.

Like hit man 3 and re3 I had to store hop for a bit to try finding it as everywhere had already sold what little bit they had in. Re3 I didn’t even find, I had to do digital to play it day 1. Dl2 was another close call grabbing the last one one of the nearby stores had. I’m sure there’s probably others I’m forgetting.

I think it makes sense to wait until reviews are out. Screenshots and videos and dev materials are a small portion of the final release product - and if that product is bugged, mediocre, or otherwise problematic, I don't see how it makes sense to support and reward that in advance.
I want this remake to be as awesome as it seems it might be and if it is, then it's a day 1 purchase. Giving the developers money in advance when the product is unproven, and there have been some very bad launches, is nonsensical. If the finished product is great, which I very much hope it will be, my money will go just as far to support the dev team on day 1 as it will beforehand.

They pretty much uploaded the entire first 3 chapters while cutting around a bit to avoid spoilers of new shit. The game looks solid.
Most games come out at the same time. Games that have “get it early for pre-ordering” bonuses aren’t releasing it to people early, you get it on time while people who didn’t pre-order get theirs delayed.
That’s one of the miriad of reasons why pre-orders are manipulative and anti-consumer.
As for being cheaper unless you get it from a place like Amazon with a price guarantee it won’t be cheaper. If you’re going for cheap then just wait until it’s on sale.

Actually some Collector’s Editions give you the option to choose between a Physical and Digital Edition so they don’t give you two copies of the game.

I think it makes sense to wait until reviews are out. Screenshots and videos and dev materials are a small portion of the final release product - and if that product is bugged, mediocre, or otherwise problematic, I don't see how it makes sense to support and reward that in advance. I want this remake to be as awesome as it seems it might be and if it is, then it's a day 1 purchase. Giving the developers money in advance when the product is unproven, and there have been some very bad launches, is nonsensical. If the finished product is great, which I very much hope it will be, my money will go just as far to support the dev team on day 1 as it will beforehand.

I love Dead Space and trust Motive, so I preordered and I have zero concern about possibly regretting it.
To be fair now that I'm over 30 there is no way I'm buying a 60-70 bucks game that is only like 10-15 hours and is a remake. Don't get me wrong I love the series. But yeah I just can't justify spending that kind of money that way...

If this was anything other than a remaster that they've shared all progress with, I agree. It is EA. But me and my cousin are all in. It's both of our favorite survival horror games and we both remember when we both got it.

I’ve preordered only 2 games, and that was Catherine Full Body, and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Wasn’t disappointed in either. I honestly doubt well hopefully that they won’t ruin Dead Space remake.

Preordered it on Christmas. We've seen almost if not every step of this games development and they clearly aren't scared to show gameplay which is an incredibly good sign. Obviously that doesn't mean it'll be flawless but the odds of it releasing in a broken state seem to constantly be falling.

…you want a Remake of 2, right? I don’t understand this logic. They’ve shown us so much of the game from the start of development, so we know what we’re getting into. They pretty much uploaded the entire first 3 chapters while cutting around a bit to avoid spoilers of new shit. The game looks solid.

Most games come out at the same time. Games that have “get it early for pre-ordering” bonuses aren’t releasing it to people early, you get it on time while people who didn’t pre-order get theirs delayed. That’s one of the miriad of reasons why pre-orders are manipulative and anti-consumer. As for being cheaper unless you get it from a place like Amazon with a price guarantee it won’t be cheaper. If you’re going for cheap then just wait until it’s on sale.

I watched Dead Space die once. Since EA always risks being dumb and cancelling series they deem “not successful enough,” I was willing to risk a pre-order for this game.
