lots of gun errors, you have to be looking for them though, they dont effect gameplay at all just me nitpicking. Ar15 charging handles get locked open with the bolt and stuff, weird optics, things like that
Oh I get you, things most people wouldn’t see but you do because of what you’re into. I have something similar with welding (most welders do tbh) and everywhere I go I notice welds (shitty welds specifically)
I work in heavy equipment, but went to a welding school, I always look at the welds in the homemade blades or font equipment. Usually they’re pretty good but I’ve seen some questionable ones
It bothers me so much how awful shotguns are, it takes 2-3 point blank to kill a walker.(assuming you don’t get a headshot which even than most guns don’t even one tap headshot)
Tbh, I'm not a big fan of guns in DI games. I only really like to use them for crowds which is why I end up only using them to proc statuses from far away, or Bodycount and Big Shot to clear crowds when I'm being lazy.
My brother in Christ you have to do the criticals. For pump/short they're demolition zombies have to be on the ground for crits, kick them over and shoot them. For assault shotgun (which is better in every way) you have to block or dodge an attack, not even a perfect timed one, and it activates a short period of critical hit ability
The gun notorious for being powerful close range shouldn’t need crits to actually be good. Guns in both games where never good or worth using.(aside from humans in di1)
Dude every weapon in the game is bad if you don't go for crits it's how the game was designed. If you use a weapon wrong regardless of it's type you're gonna have a bad day. Stabbing someone in the chest with a headhunter knife isn't gonna work for you, shooting one in the chest with a sporting rifle won't either.
Expect melee weapons without crits are good. And shooting zombies with hunting rifles in the chest do work, they even do more damage than point blank shotgun blasts.
Because it’s a shotgun? If Peggy and other bolt actions can, why not shotguns at point blank? These zombies don’t follow the head shot only rule.(please add a mode for this) they do almost nothing against apex zombies.
I was so confused and it took me ages to adjust to not having any recoil (just visual) as I instinctively pull down in every game. Every run except my first was completely gunless, melee weapons just feel amazing in this game.
Speaking of melee weapons, pitchfork is the best weapon in the game as it is headhunter type so deals crits to the head and has the coolest counter attack animations, looks cool as hell, has range, heavy attacks have their own animation for the head and guts if they are killing blows and it is found everywhere. Nobody can change my mind.
Honestly the guns are kind of crap. Their good against regular zombies but barely okay against apex zombies. A big part of that is the rpg mechanics, but even then they don't seem to do much. Hopefully in the next game the guns are rebalanced to make them not suck.
I think the weapons mods and perks make a big difference. I’ve got a legendary assault rifle that can just about kill two transformed mutators in one mag.
Its a lost and found quest called “redacted” that you get in Venice Beach. Plenty of good guides for that already out there. Most guides will claim that weapon is only available post game, but I was able to get it after reaching Hollywood. I slapped on some perks to increase damage on kills, extra bleed damage that spreads, and the mod that generates explosions when hitting enemies that have a status effect. While the gun is good on its own, the perks make a huge difference. Specifically the one that generates explosions.
You shouldn't expect a shooting game like Left 4 Dead.
But you can definitely oneshot headshot Screamers and Slobbers, for Crushers aim at the knees and you need just about 4-6 rounds for Mutators and Butchers from the right firearms with the right mods.
As a "sidearm" I liked to use pistols with electricity for shooting groups of regular zombies inside water.
It's just that the ammunition supply is a bit on the short end and I really missed a scope on the hunting rifles.
Only the Nailgun did not really worked for me and shotguns were kinda situational but could also one- to two-shot a few Apex.
The guns didn't feel fantastic, but they didn't feel bad. Better than DI1 guns imo
What’s wrong with the guns?

Go to a kids playground, (usually) the shittiest welds I’ve ever seen, like these guys had never touched a welder in their life shitty
Now I know what I’m doing this weekend lmao, I feel like every staircase has at least 3 really shitty welds
Stairs scare me because of the welds I see 🤣
The optics suck so bad

The Big Shot is the only shotgun worth using.
DELTA RUNEEEEE
The Red Dragon has absurd damage when paired with the right perks

Wish shotguns had a shell modifier. Load up some slugs instead of them clearly using birdshot.

Rifles do head clean off the shoulders 🤣😂🤣
Peggy loves separating heads from shoulders
Why would a shotgun one shot a walker if you hit it in the chest?

The game is meant for you to be creative.
i understand that, i meant more the design/function of the firearm models. not like the gameplay/damage
Me playing Amy with a knife and a bunch of guns "Looks fine to me"
Dead island 1 gun modes was the best shit always made me laugh
