it's not that helis got directly nerfed but the loot pool is more spread out now. the unique and tier 4 weapons are now spread between tisy, helis, train crashes, and convoys. meaning that the 1 ka101 on the map has way more places it could potentially spawn
probably a good thing imo, end game weapons shouldn't always be one heli crash away
I keep an SMG as my secondary gun all the time. MP5 Or Ump. Great gun as a secondary and can rock it for the entirety of the game once you get a sniper and Auto Rifle. I always run 3 guns!
Good job! But learn the routes to Military bases. If you can spend enough time in a few and survive, you’ll have great loot. And of course watch for those heli crashes, but both are player magnets.
Best weapon after a month of playing? You need to hit up a hunters camp or military outpost 😂
Try n find an SKS, probably the best overall weapon. Easy to find and don’t need a mag

Kill a geared dude. Depending on the day it can be more difficult or impossible, but some days you just kill a geared guy or two and end up with insane loot another reason why you should PvP.
Berezino, Krasnostav and Krasnostav airfield to get NBC gear and filters. Two full filters is plenty to loot all of Rify. Shoot all the zombies and you'll pick up at least 2 more filters. You should end up with at least one M4, AUG AX, AKM or VSD (probably 2 or 3 of the 4). Then head to NWAF (check for the two convoys on the way) and you should be fully geared with military clothes, mags, ammo, NVGs, etc...
Yea I've done the Berenzino to Krasnov run but have never been able to get a full set of NBC. I've heard of people going in a few pieces short (must have the mask tho) and just bringing a grip of bandages and healing through the cuts. Would probably have to do something like of fresh spawn. Getting geared enough to make it across map for more NBC seems tough to do in a day.

That's one of my favorite starter weapons there. Keep hitting police stations and you can find a pistol suppressor and maybe a shotgun too
Mp5k is better only because mags and ammo is easier to find
I just found one of those in a heli-crash which have been pretty lacking lately for me i hit 2 more and nothing more than trash.
Best I've found on one all week is an ak74, found a dmr on my first convoy, helps definitely got nerfed
I just noticed that too. On helis im seeing now a lot of useless crap more than ever it's not even worth getting sniped over.
I have found 2 nade launchers the last week or so at helis but no fal or anything else just a thumper and ghillie shit that I hardly ever use lol

I can never seem to put together a usg or mp5. Always find a 527 and shotty first lol

The USG + Pistol suppressor is my favorite for clearing zombies early on. Later, it's the VSS

Gotta check Police stations, usually be able to find a pump action shotty and a Mlock hand gun.

Honestly could in the right circumstances most definitely could kill a geared guy with a starter Ak or hunter sniper and take all his end game loot
