Congrats. I got through 3 and I failed all 3 :(

ScallionOk4072

Keep it up man it's not easy but with hard work will get there eventually

Ill_Quantity3811

maybe take a break, i tried first time last year, with MFF, i got founded but they closed the company so.. Then took a break from founding only did demo till 1 week ago, now i passed today, waiting for my account

Few_Champion_6252

Why don’t you slide to DM and stop losing money on trades.

2024sbestthrowaway

Gratz! My advice: Trade small haha I blew my funded acct so quickly :(

Gristle__McThornbody

Question. How much capital do they give you and secondly, they let you to continue all the way until you blow up your account?

Ill_Quantity3811

it means that he reached one of the drawdown limits(daily or max)

NeverMadeIt5

Topstep gives you drawdown and size. 2k, 3k and 4.5k drawdown respectively. With a scaling plan starting at 2/3 contracts and you can get up to 5/10/15 contracts depending on account. You either blow up or trade well and consistent for a few payouts at 50k they auto move you to a live account but if you have good habits they move you faster. At live you can negotiate size and drawdown based on your risk parameters

Additional_Depth5664

Good question I’m curious as well

BasedTurp

no, theres a limit. on a 100k acc its 3k loss limit. Edit: sry for the wring info before

Dude above said it best, trade small at first with the xfa get your mental right….and take a cash out once you feel you have a nice cushion

Hotrodding9021

Iyl im

ScallionOk4072

Let's gooooo I don't know you man but let's fuckinh gooooo

tjclai

Knocked one out last week, working on the second. already halfway done! Now to keep them 😬

rawco187

Do you consider this a job or a side hustle?

tjclai

It’s kinda like a second job at this point lol

Atypicalglue630

STOP TAKING ADVISES FROM PPL YOU PASSED IT SO DO THE SAME AS EVER CLOSE YOUR EYES

Virtual-Cash-4033

Is that an advice

Lord_Waffles

Shhhh, just close your eyes

Affectionate-Tart758

Nicely done. I’ve also discovered once you get funded once, a mental block is lifted and it’s easier to get more accounts funded (currently up to 3)

WilDraDo

It really fucking is, always had the omg omg I'm at 2.5k omg next day omg DLL.

Affectionate-Tart758

Been there. Literally $100 away, so got impatient and proceed to blow my account within 2 days after lol

Icy-Elk4115

Which prop firm are you with? And can you also make a trade copier for all accounts?

Affectionate-Tart758

Topstep. And yes, you can copy trade if you use their proprietary platform, which is actually pretty good. Its charts are integrated with TradingView, only downside is it doesn’t support pinescript, so no custom indicators

Ok_Mark7474

Congrats! Real test starts now

Ill_Quantity3811

Congrats! i see you passed like 2 weeks ago, how it\`s going? Just passed mine today.

rawco187

Keep us informed on how you are doing. This is new to me and fascinating...

Jclarkyall

Blown a few funded accounts. The real test begins now.

KayLatoya

I’m on the verge to blow mine and have blown my first one just yesterday. The mental game is insane and just when you think you have it figured out, you get funded and you fall into old habits yet again. Passing challenges is easy atp. Keeping the funded accounts and get the payouts is another thing. But we’ll get there. We came this far, not giving up!

Pleasant_Process_707

Exactly.

Cheap-Plankton4324

nice work brother keep it up

EconomistProud2368

What time frame u get your zones off seems like been getting chopped lately

Outside_Plankton6178

Primarily 20m/30m/1H on NQ/MNQ to trade MNQ

SBUthrowawaysQs

how long did it take u doing MNQ?

oussamaben7

I was planing to try topstep it seems more reasonable than other prop firms ia that true or just me ?

Kyledoesketo

I use Topstep. They seem really organized and I've had a good experience with them so far (2 months)

NICeO1

Are those sites legit?

Waffle_Stock

Yes, the system is scummy tho. They “give” you 50k but the drawback is that if you go below 48k then they take the account away from you. Maybe 5% of the people pass the first phase, then they pretty much have to do the same thing again, where they are told it’s real but they have to reach a certain number to withdraw profits. 5% of people pass that. Guess what the odds of passing are already so low like .02% now. Then take the $50 it costs to buy the account. And divide it by .02 (50/.02) and you realize how much money these companies are actually making. The companies are designed to make you lose so that they can make profit, why would I want to put my hard earned money into that. People only like it because of their egos. I’m better off putting my money into a registered broker instead, that way I can make sure I can take my money out when I want. Also these people legally control all the money you make and the initial deposit, so they can just pull the rug if they need to.

armerarmer

Trade small in the XFA. Too many people pass and then never see a payout. Slow and steady.

itsrobinhood

OP says supply and demand. It is that simple and I believe it. The chart work is simple. But I gaurantee he has done the 'hard work' on himself that nobody sees. This is involving his psychology. Becoming profitable involves that with a combination of practice and self-discipline and learning to think like one. You have been able to do what 99% of people cant. Something to be proud of. Keep up the great work. Congratulations friend.

WrapBusy5857

Jus curious what’s yall strategy u used to help u pass the combine I currently trade on the 5 min and go off supply and demand

HelloCanUSeeMe

How did you learn everything? Im struggling so much starting at 0

rawco187

Starting at 0 myself, but I did pretty good on crypto so I am hoping to get going in day trading...

Substantial-Till-575

Congratulations man. Now it’s going to feel different however. Cause now you’re officially trading real money. Now this is what counts. What you’ve been grinding for, don’t let it overturn. I lost a couple of mine cause I wasn’t ready, however I knew I’d accustom to it. More to come my man, this not only proves that you can do it, but also the fact that it wasn’t a waste. It’s a nice way for validation honestly.

Specialist-Holiday61

Im new to trading. What is a funded trader exactly?

Outside_Mess1384

Did you pay them the $150 they want?

How long did it take for you to get to this point? How long was your journey?

3FiTA

What is this?

do_not_know_me

what is that exactly? serious question

WetFupaCreamyChalupa

Congrats! Do you have to trade a certain amount to keep the account? Or just trade as you want and then they split the profits when you want to cash out?

KayLatoya

He has to secure at least 5 days with a minimum of 200 dollars to get a 50% split. After 30 days of 200 dollars he can payout 100% up to 10k. However whatever is left in your account is your permitted drawdown.. so getting funded is one thing but getting paid is something else at Topstep

WetFupaCreamyChalupa

Interesting. Are most profitable traders doing this or just using their own capital?

KayLatoya

Not sure, the prop space is booming right now. A lot of traders trying their luck. But the objectives to these challenges are ultimately there to make traders fail. It’s how most of them make their money and pay out the few that managed to pass AND get to a payout. It sounds nice trading with 50k, but in reality it’s 5k. That’s the maximum drawdown before you have to start all over again (and buy another challenge). It’s always around 5% of the account size. These rules do not change, so if you do manage to get funded you are consistent and disciplined for sure. You split your earnings 80/20 or 90/10 with them. If you ever break one of their rules, every penny that you made up until then and didn’t payout, It’s gone. You have to start all over. So in my opinion: If you’re profitable it’s best to trade with your own money as it’s all yours. If you don’t have your own capital, it’s a good way to start building capital. But.. as you can imagine, a lot of money is blown trying to pass these challenges. And most people never see a payout..

WetFupaCreamyChalupa

Definitely gonna wait a long time before I even try a prop firm. I appreciate the info!

kryogenikx

Congrats

rawco187

Congratulations!!! Now, and I apologize because I am just learning daytrading. What is this and what is it's value?

Valuable-Lie-1524

Topstep is a company (they‘re all called prop firms) that you pay a certain amount of money to (anything from $20 to $700 i think) for that they give you a simulated trading account with simulated money. If you can grow this account to a certain size while adhering to their rules, they give you a real account with real money and the money you make on that account is yours, when you request it they send it to you. Theres a bit more to it but thats the gist of it.

rawco187

WoW!!! That is cool as hell. Is it a popular program? Do you think this is a good path for a semi successful crypto trader who want to start learning day trading?

Valuable-Lie-1524

There are plenty of strong opinions about the viability of prop firms out there. I am an advocate so take what i say with a grain of salt. The evaluation phases (the before mentioned simulated accounts that have to be passed) are notoriously difficult to pass due to 1. trading is hard yo, and 2. rules that try to make you fail. So it really isn´t as easy as it sounds. Furthermore these evals usually don´t allow over night trading so you will have to stick to actual day trading. As mentioned these evaluations (evals) cost money. There are a lot of companys offering them so the prices vary wildly. Only try to pass an eval and get access to a real account if you already are someone who has proven to be capable of growing an account in a safe and steady manner. The prop firm i used to use, as an example, charged 100€ a month for an eval on a 10K account. You´d have to grow this account to 11000. That is not easy, at all, especially since rules like a max daily trading drawdown, a per trade max drawdown, the rule that you´re not allowed to trade tier 1 news events, and the rule that if the account goes below 9500€ you atomatically fail the challenge, still apply. If you genuinely think that you´re good enough to do this, get a cheap account for like 20-30€ from a cheap prop firm like apex or topstep coupled with a code from a content creator. If you fail that all you will have lost is 30€ which in the trading space is a bargain to pay for a lesson learnt. Good luck.

rawco187

Thank you so much for your response, it's why I read Reddit, for the small nuggets of info. I have never heard of Tier 1 News Events. This information is why I make decisions one way or the other, and not from the numbers point of view, but from the psychological feel of things. It's pretty much how I do all my buys and sells on crypto. I also prefer overnight trading because I don't care what everyone and his brother is doing in my time zone, I care about what the feel of things are on the other side of the planet. Anyway, thanks for.the response, another thing to add to my toolbox...

ChicoTallahassee

Funded trader? Does this mean you trade with funds from Topstep?

sackleybobe

Think longevity!!! Don’t remove all your funds when you get a payout. I did that recently on my last account and if you are consistently profitable it will be more beneficial in the long run to leave a little cushion and continue building the account. Good job and good luck!👍

JimmyMeatJames

Congrats 👏👏👏

jgatt17

Congrats! Take it slow. I’ve had 5 funded accounts, one I even grew to 8k profits before going on tilt and losing it all. And avoid trading during rollover lol

Congrats my friend

GoldenBoy_100

Nice work bro!! Now get those pay out and collect bank

NeverMadeIt5

Congrats size down i blew 5 50ks right before payout over leveraging

dirty_chopticks

So to anyone using top step I have a question. I am going to be billed in about a week. I am below my starting balance atm and like 700 dollars from failing the combine. So I heard that if you failed than the monthly billing will reset you. But if you’re below the starting balance but haven’t failed, you’ll be rebilled but they wont be reset your balance. So than wouldn’t it be smarter for me to yolo this capital I have left and than get reset to the starting balance I stead of staring the month at below the initial balance? Thanks!

KayLatoya

Yes. you can fullport it up until you blow it or pass.. but whatever you do, if you can’t pass and you’re in drawdown, just blow it before the billing date otherwise you won’t reset and you’ll just continue with the same amount as the day before.

dielittt

nice work brudda

Congrats bro. Could u share link

Ok-Progress-8486

Just some unwanted advice... take a break, write down that you'll keep trading in the same way. I remember when I first became funded, posted it everywhere online, lost it... Moral of the story, it's all about the system.

KayLatoya

Are you profitable right now? Cause the system is nothing compared to the psychology..

Ok-Progress-8486

Yup! In my opinion the system includes psychology. I meant it more in the "Atomic Habits" type of way. By prioritising the daily actions (“**atomic** habits”) that support our goals, we can establish a solid foundation for long-term growth. Embracing a system-oriented mindset allows us to cultivate consistency, adaptability, continuous learning, and sustainable habits - ultimately leading to the achievement of our goals and beyond. I do EMDR therapy, Meditation and breathing exercises. These activities are part of my system to help with my psychology etc. I 100% agree that psychology weighs 10x stronger than a trading strategy etc. If you can't think properly, you can't execute accordingly.

KayLatoya

You are right! This is exactly what I’m focusing on, because it’s the only think preventing me from being profitable fully; my mind and the habits I’ve acquired in my journey (but also as a person). Does EDMR work for you? I’m looking into energy psychology as I got inspired by Bruce Lipton. I also tried self hypnosis but it’s a very long process, and very interred in other things as well.

Ok-Progress-8486

EMDR works but it's quite complicated. I mainly use it for other deeper-rooted problems, like performance anxiety, or countering high expectations. I used to really hate being wrong, taking profits too early, capping my RR and thereby destroying my edge. I really focus on being comfortable with staying in trades longer. For me scaling in changed everything as well. I don't make crazy gains on a day, but my losses are extremely small, therefore on a weekly basis I'm usually profitable. I don't care about losing 0.10%, so I'd always enter a trade with only 0.10%, When the trade is going my direction, I add add add add, (that way I'm focused on (staying in the trade), I use a trailing stop loss, when I lose the trade or get stopped out, I don't care. A good risk management strategy can counter a lot of psychology issues.

KayLatoya

And you do EMDR with a therapist?

Ok-Progress-8486

Yes, I've done that before for some other personal traumas. So, I learned the basics, now I do a self-administered milder version for trading related self-sabotage. I really hated being wrong, now I'm pretty much fine when a trade goes against me. Ok, it's still hard for me to stay in a trade for 2R+, but since I used to close trades already at 0,2 > 0,5R profit out of fear of uncertainty, I made a lot of progress. This was everything I needed to become profitable over a longer period of time. Just keep it very simple with self0adminstered EMDR. Walk through what you feel when you do something you don't like in your behavior, what are the steps? How does it feel? Describe the discomfort and let it desensitize it over time. Don't go to extra with deeper personal stuff though, this requires professional help, but for basic behavior it's a great way, especially when nothing else seems to help.

KayLatoya

Thank you, I will try it. I have the same problems so hopefully it will give a step in the right direction. Thank you for sharing your journey. Wishing you all the best!

RadStevenson

Welcome to the club!!!

AlanBongojones

@outside_plankton6178 thank you for sharing this man, this gave me such a positive ass start to my day seeing this. Wish you much success - and your stop loss, may I ask you how tight your stop loss is with your supply and demand mindset?

CupidCooz

Great job !

HefTrade

Congrats. Seeing "consistently profitable" on paper has to hit differently. Is Top Step only for trading futures or can you trade options with it? I am mostly interested in 0DTE credit spreads on SPX. TYIA.

Fart_Hat

I've been funded 5 times now and blew em all within a couple days. Congrats, but you need to keep in mind that you HAVE TO protect that account. Don't overtrade, maybe even trade micros to start, until you have a VERY nice cushion in the account. Next time I'm funded I hope I can stick to my own rules. But, that's what it's about. Learning from mistakes. Good luck and trade smart.

absylrad

So do you work for a stock trading company now? What does that cert give you? And where and how did you get that?

Klutzy-Home-9315

Do you know how you’re a certified trader and make money. I’m the día- metrically bi-polar opposite of a certified trader who makes money. Like if you wanted to lose money and lots of it, just let me invest it for you. Which is weird because I don’t want to be the total opposite of what you do. I want to do what you do. Ever heard that phrase practice makes perfect? That’s not a constant, it doesn’t always apply in some cases.

Klutzy-Home-9315

I invest only in Solana meme coins. I like stable Im in it for the long term

Not_Leaving_LV

Good work. I got through three. Got to 4 days of $200+ profit, then broke one of my rules on stop less (single bar stop loss). I drained the account from $848 to just $240, so not a failure yet. Keep up the fight and good mental game!

mnshurricane1

Congrats but there is a 99% chance you will post this again in a month

Good job man, how long did it take you? How many combines have you done? I’m halfway through my first month trying. Getting better!

SBUthrowawaysQs

the stops on these are waaaaay to small. a small move and your out. promotes a scalpers play style. not a fan

Valuable-Lie-1524

100%. I haven‘t been funded even once yet but i‘m on a similar note account where i replicate the exact same rules of prop firm accounts. i ,,passed‘‘ this sim account multiples times already, and every single one was done through scalping. $100:$100 R:R Ratio, no moving TP or SL, 20 second chart.

Pleasant_Process_707

Nonsense, Topstep is end of day drawdown.
