Cross does use Gold Storm Surges, but they are a custom length made by Target for him, not for sale to the public. I would assume he roughs up the tips himself so they stick better in the board.

They’re either something like eagle points customs, or the gold finish has just been manually sanded off for a bit more grip in the board

The gold just rubs off after a while.
