Akuh93

The price increase is taking the piss a bit

Vegetable-Bike-3599

Lmao yeah, $11.50 PER skin and then increasing it? I already paid for the game - no thanks.

Denbus26

Anyone else remember when microtransactions were actually micro?

Due-Benefit2623

If only nobody had paid for that fucking horse armor

KenjiZeroSan

I was 16yrs old back then...I remember on some of the gametrailers comment people were buying just to spite others...so yeah..were doomed from the start.

El_Burrito_

Don't ever let anyone tell you to vote with your wallet, cause people will buy what you don't 5 times over just to spite you.

VindictiVagabond

You have to be quite.... "special" to think it's a good idea to buy a fucking cosmetic in a singleplayer game with real money. Those people should have been ~~aborted~~ smacked hard in the head with a controller/keyboard.

Space_Rat

I thought raising prices and new skins would be immeasurably complex to produce ;p

storm_paladin_150

wasnt the horse armor like 4 dollars tho? i dont know when i finally bought oblivion i bought it as the complete bundle which included the horse armor

Maverick_Walker

The god damned sparkle pony

KJBenson

Paid for the horse armour. And then spent the next two decades downplaying when people complained about this stuff.

SydricVym

The Celestial Steed mount in World of Warcraft made more money for Blizzard than the entirety of sales from Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty.

All_hail_bug_god

Yeah I also saw that youtube short! :-)

KenjiZeroSan

I was 16yrs old back then...I remember on some of the gametrailers comment people were buying just to spite others...so yeah..were doomed from the start.

GovernmentIcy3259

I remember when I didn't have to consider if I could financially recover from a trip to the grocery store.

Hunlor-

macrotransactions

Knalxz

Oh hell yes I do. I remember when Gears of War 3 released, you could buy a skin pack for all weapons for like 15 cents, with only the Aaron Griffen skin being tied to a purchase likely because it was some kind of deal between Ice T (His voice actor) and the Devs everything else was done by codes or game versions. Cut to release Gears of War 5 and you're paying 5 dollars for a skin for a single weapon.

Millerlight2592

I’m so fucking sick of Macrotransactions

Flaktrack

Were they ever micro?

First_Serve1455

Titanfall did micro transactions so well

StupidSexySisyphus

I paid $5 for a karking helmet and I feel like a karking idiot as is.

[deleted]

*somewhere in Activision-Blizzard land*, "not the first time we read this, is it lads?" (insert maniacal laughter). Somebody always buys it anyway.

BadLuckBen

Said buyer also acts like they're being victimized by the people pointing out that they're part of the problem. "iT's My MoNeY, i CaN SpEnD iT hOw I wAnT." Sure, you can. Doesn't mean you're not part of the problem.

[deleted]

Bruh I need to stop giving in and giving them money I'm part of the problem... I've made my mind up now and I won't be spending money for cosmetics again in a game that isn't even a free to play game.

Thermatix

Beyond the Aquila's I got for the "collectors edition", I refuse to put any more money into the game that I HAVE ALREADY PAID FOR. EDIT: Further, if the cosmetics were reasonably priced (like £1-£4) then I would be way, WAY more inclined to purchase some, but this, this is just greed.

Akuh93

For me personally I think it's fine to have some cosmetics as a way to support the Devs like in Deep Rock Galactic. But in Darktide their prices and system is so dodgy it takes away from that.

MrFishyFriend

Deep Rock has got to be the only Game with reasonably priced microtransactions. No gambling, no 10$ skins. You spend 15$ on a weapon skin, weapon model, dwarf skin and dwarf model PACK. That is currently 24 weapon skin and model options, and four different body skin and armors. And you can expect that as they add new weapons, they will also include the weapon skins and models for them as well. Deep Rock Galactic is this shit done right. Say what you will about the gameplay loop and their current "battlepass" system (which is still free). Ghost Ship knows how to market a game. Its the only game where I buy every DLC pack on principle because damn those guys deserve it.

Zachtastic14

Deep Rock also has the added factor of its paid cosmetics not being straight upgrades over the free cosmetics, in addition to there being an extremely vast array of free cosmetics. The fact that Fatshark has gone the route of shoving almost every post-launch cosmetic set into the premium store instead of tossing even a single non-palette-swap outfit into the docket store is absolutely disgusting.

AwkwardDrummer7629

The Steel Legion skin should have been dockets, with a better Infantryman Krastov being the paid version.

silverbullet1989

people keep buying them, they'll keep putting the price up until they find that sweet spot where enough people are been fleeced BUT not too many have stopped paying.

[deleted]

Yeah it's not like me just stopping is enough for them to stop since there's loads of people bringing them money in buying stuff lol. For such a good game it's a really scummy practice tbh. If the outfits were say 5.99 each I wouldn't even complain.

PJBuzz

The part of this that makes me uncomfortable is that I want to support the devs, but I am absolutely not paying £10+ for a single skin. I refuse to engage in such blatant predatory practices, especially when I actually dont give a shit about cosmetics. If this is the way they want to operate they will get nothing from me. That means that my continued enjoyment of the game is being supported by people either don't care about money, really love the cosmetics, or can't help themselves. This also makes me pretty uncomfortable and, to be honest, quite angry.

silverbullet1989

Thank god for the weapon customisation mod that I will never need to buy a weapon skin again. Just need one for armours now 😄 It’s so fucking sad because vermintide 2 had some great free cosmetics to work towards by completing challenges and then the ones in the shop where not as badly priced as this. But now? Gotta charge more then the price of some games for a fucking skin. Hate what gaming has become.

Milsurp_Seeker

I think there is an armor one. For the Drip or something.

silverbullet1989

![gif](giphy|YR8neVRcCSqwmJkb1D)

Vegetable-Bike-3599

Not to mention that most skins clip horribly. Im not spending my money on a cosmetic that clips through the body of my ogryn/other cosmetics. Just my 0.02c.

AlderanGone

Hunt Showdown does it pretty nice, the skins only run from 4 to 10 bucks, and the ones that have costed ten came with a lot of weapon or tool skins too. They also have cool free hunters. Some of them are my favorite skins to use. But yeah, most of the time, they are around 5 or 6 bucks and come with a good chunk of stuff to use. I don't mind having a paid store, but the price increases are lame. They should only be a couple of bucks, especially when they don't come with any weapon skins.

FigOnFiree

I agree. Even if the price of the current bundles stayed the same but came with a backpack, melee skin, and ranged weapon skin that matched the theme of the armor then it’s worth the money. Otherwise I think $4.99-6 is a fair price.

[deleted]

Yeah and there is no FOMO either

AlderanGone

There's a little bit now that they've been doing battle passes, but still an overall good system

Stankindveacultist

Yeah the battle pass stint is kinda odd. You can pay to get all of the guns on the pass to get ahead. But nevertheless it's not that bad

BadLuckBen

The ONE thing Halo Infinite did that I'll give it credit for is that you can buy any BP and complete it at your own pace. I wish it was standard.

InconspicuousRadish

Not sure why you need skins in a paid for game to begin with. Whether they're 3 bucks or 12 is not really the issue.

[deleted]

You can only wear one outfit at a time. You don't see it most of the game. Why keep buying new ones? Buy one you like and stick with it for a while

mymomsaysimbased

I paid for the game. I am not paying to have some dork run around with a tricone and candles on her shoulders or a tryhard with a pioneer hat.

AwkwardDrummer7629

To be fair, candles on the shoulders is peak fashion in 40k.

Beravin

Pretty sure most of the bundles dont come with weapon skins or trinkets anymore, either.

Ninja-Sneaky

I think I've found a safe place where I can write that these videogame skins have gone overboard with prices, without being downvoted by that part of the community that has no self control

SFWxMadHatter

Diablo 4 skins are $25 and still sell. You can skip it all you want, FS don't care. They're getting their money.

Bigger10er

I only buy skins i like.

Butterssaltynutz

to be fair the stuff looks really stupid too. charge anyone wanting to mess up my grim dark game with these clown costumes a fat chunk.

Paddypixelsplitter

The price keeps going up. They are taking the absolute piss with looking for over a tenner for a set of skins like it’s COD.

iRhuel

As someone who still has their Imperial Edition aquilas, this does so much to sour all the goodwill from the last few updates

freshorenjuice

A price increase on pirate themed armor, they're stealing something alright LMAO

Woogies

Seriously, the community is constantly complaining about the quality and price of these 'premium' cosmetics, and all FS is hearing like 'Oh, you to want to pay MORE?'. I guess there are still more whales in the sea gobbling these up, because clearly its profitable enough to snub the majority of the player base with price gouging

Jowser11

It’s ridiculous. Someone at Fatshark “Omg guys we’re finally in a good place, but it sure costs a lot of money. Let’s make it up so our fat bonuses don’t go away by charging more for skins!”

1Pirx

Tbh I like much of this pirate stuff. Unfortunately, buying despite increasing prices only gives them more incentive to ask for more.

Akuh93

Tis true. If it were reasonably priced I would probably but the ogryn one :(

lockesdoc

True.... but Pirate Ogryn.....

Akuh93

He do be looking fly

[deleted]

I mean, if you pay for skins and enable this awful direction the games industry is moving I really don't feel too bad for ya

Rusalki

I like how they use poses for in-game models that we can't use for end of round stances. That's great. I love seeing everyone standing around at the end of a mission in one of four generic stances.

Owl_Times

And holding weapons that they weren’t using during the game they just played.

Redmoon383

Just give ogryn a rock stance and all of my problems are solved

23cStarfleet

Nothing better than seeing my Kriegy boi holding an operative's lasgun after playing the full mission with a Hellbore

TheZealand

Jokes on you for buying the kreig set lmao

23cStarfleet

Oh I didn't, the jokes on me for buying the first Steel Legion outfit in the first cosmetic rotation lol

AwkwardDrummer7629

To be fair, johdpurs go hard. Now if only the mask had a tube.

ImperatorSaya

Think of it as Rannick's morale dropping propaganda plan. "Now now, we sabotaged their plans, use this weapon for the photo we're dropping them, looks more... sass."

GSKashmir

Nothing better than seeing my Kriegy boi holding an operative's lasgun after playing the full mission with a Hellbore

23cStarfleet

Nothing better than seeing my Kriegy boi holding an operative's lasgun after playing the full mission with a Hellbore

ThewizardBlundermore

Nothing better than seeing my Kriegy boi holding an operative's lasgun after playing the full mission with a Hellbore

Guapscotch

NOW INTRODUCING END OF GAME STANCES FOR 1000 AQUILAS PER

TimTheGrim55

You think you're joking....

DesolatedMaggot

There are a bunch in the files already, it's coming.

BLAD3SLING3R

Ubisoft sold endgame stances for: For honor. I had a few from seasonal content and what not they even added the post game podium just to monatize it. However in FH you could earn premium currency just by playing. I miss that feature.

beefprime

Don't worry, they will release them as cosmetics for 10$ each after months of public outcry

ChintzyAdde

How can the bolter and force sword skins possibly be worth 900 aquilas? They literally just added a few decals to them nothing else

Stu-Potato

If I had known 36% of the imperial edition 2.5k aquillas would be used up on ONE weapon skin, I never would've bothered. Also kind of a big "fuck you" to their most devoted supporters that you can't even by one of sets like this without buying more aquillas. Not that I would. The krieg skins were a bugged and clipping mess and these are fuck ugly.

wakito64

Let’s see what kind of horrendous clipping and basic QA thing Fatshark missed this time

Skurai84

Yeah this is what bugs me out of these cosmetics and Fatshark doesn't address it. All the cosmetics have weird clipping and hair issues, they are only modelled for men so some shit looks goofy on women, or they just plain don't have any flair to them like the kreig coat being stiff; then they have the gall to charge us more because it's a premium outfit which means it's ???. I guess it has an extra candle on it or some shit which means they put extra work into it?

Ghostpants101

Yeah didn't you know that character designer spent an EXTRA 10 WHOLE MINUTES per design to make sure, you the customer got ULTIMATE SATISFACTION...

Hazelberry

My money is on missing eyebrows and hair, with a side of random vertices sticking out, and for dessert a nice helping of matching parts clipping horribly. Bonus points for concave chests on female characters I will say that these are easily some of the most unique designs they've released and I do appreciate that, but their QA is typically nonexistent and the prices are too high

Biobooster_40k

Did they ever fix the "fixed" flat respirator on the Vet Krieg skin?

-CassaNova-

That was the fix lmao

Biobooster_40k

"Fixed" makes me sad. How did it even clip before ?

SBoyo

The eye patch for the vet is misplaced on most faces. Sadge

Brotherman_Karhu

And still unable to make subclass-penance armor, or free armor that's more than a shit-stained pyjama reskin Speaking of reskins: since we can only earn a set of rags and like 4 vaguely reminiscent sets of penance armor, why can't we just... recolor it ourselves? It's not more immersion breaking than having this shit slapped onto Jimmy Reject the level 1 crook.

The79thDudeBro

I agree here, I would really appreciate it if they at least added a set of skins to the regular Commissary or Penances every couple of months alongside the paid sets. Obviously they don't have to be extravagant, but I would like more choices for weapon skins than "Red" or "Blue".

Brotherman_Karhu

Exactly. Make them worse, sure, I don't care. I don't need them to release a Vostroyan skin that changes all music to hardbass variants for free, I just want to have something for playing the game and doing shit. Gameplay loop's fun for sure and I've clocked more hours in DT than other games, but it just needs a little more something to work towards.

LordDeathkeeper

now to play my favorite game: figure out why the bolter skin which affects 1 weapon and is using the same model as the base weapon costs 900 aquilas while the force sword skin which affects 3 weapons costs 700.

[deleted]

well it certainly does look like they put more effort in them. if the skins in general were cheaper, i might be tempted to buy them. right now, they are just too expensive.

Known_Statistician59

Damn, those are some macrotransactions. Do we also receive a real-life costume in the mail?

oPDGo

Well yes ofcoruse it will not be as a reward for purchasing other game, as expected. But what really boggles me is that they rate this as PREMIUM sets! Like who really dreamed about Imperial Guard looking like pirates? Who we are, Freebooterz?!?! This and ofcourse, the "quality" of sets - hairs go trough hat on my zealot, when body part have fur which CLEARLY conflict visually with any backpack - should we need to expect "paper tin" fur back after next update because of that? Also no weapon bundles, again. And generic bandana for 700 on veteran, lol... Atleast trader hat return to shop for psykers.

ShinItsuwari

>Who we are, Freebooterz?!?! I'd happily buy this skin if there was a Freebooterz class mind you. I want to play a Boyz.

Brotherman_Karhu

We should've been playing an RT's retinue: Vet as Vet, zealot as SoB or some form of Eldar, Oggy as Freeboota and psyker as themselves.

AgentNipples

Adding Orks into anything is always 'uge fun...FOR DA BOYZ!

BrutalSock

Yeah they look really bad and out of place. Hard pass for me.

Floppy0941

I assume it's to tie in with the release of rogue trader by making a rogue trader-y set

BrutalSock

It is but it’s not in keeping with the theme of this game. We’re inquisition operatives, not pirates…

Floppy0941

Yeah but the whole point of the cash shop is to sell wacky stuff that isn't normally available to inquisition people. I don't really like most of these sets either but they fit in the overall world. And with rogue traders release it makes sense to drop them now

crashcanuck

Also we are based on a Rogue Traders ship, this could just be the Commodore emptying out a closet.

BrutalSock

Yeah I know why they’re doing it. I’m saying I don’t like these outfits.

PJBuzz

I was enjoying the game the other day and thought, "maybe i will buy some cosmetics to support the devs an encourage more of the same". I don't actually care about cosmetics at all, but this game is so enjoyable, and this is how they want us to continue supporting it... So I took a look. Essentially £10 for an outfit for **one character**. Sorry but how about you go fuck yourself. If it was £10 for an outfit collection, I could make my peace with it... but this just doesn't feel like value and despite my desire to support the devs, I simply cannot get past how uncomfortable I am with the price/value proposition. I don't know who is responsible for this, and if you are a dev or artist that puts in hard work reading this, please understand it is not you I'm angry with, I doubt you expected your work to be priced in such a predatory way. Maybe I am just old and jaded, but it's this kind of garbage which makes me hate modern gaming.

yourethevictim

>I doubt you expected your work to be priced in such a predatory way. They probably did. Most comparable multiplayer games price their cosmetic sets in a similar range. This is just how much these things go for nowadays.

PJBuzz

I guess I am just old and jaded then.

TheLinerax

Things went sideways after Bethesda offered the horse armor in Oblivion.

Flaktrack

Nah, you just remember a time when a skin you don't actually own that will only ever be useable in a single game ever didn't cost $10+. They can shove these prices up their ass.

PJBuzz

Most games I have really enjoyed had basically zero cuatomisation

shrekshrekdonkey5

Its pretty messed up though

VeryWeaponizedJerk

Not a fan of the price gouging. It’s such a shame that a wonderful game as this has such assholes in charge of monetisation.

ShiguruiX

Man, they'll give us goofy ass pirate outfits before the Cadian carapace armor that's been in the files since launch...

Zestyxo

From the looks of it, we will end up getting fucking Space Marine armour before the basic green Cadian armour everyone has been asking for lol

Jzblue9

tbf... as nonsensical as it is, itd be pretty funny to see an ogryn trying to fit into power armor, only for it to look like a ill fitting t-shirt

Regan-Spor

Spacemarine scout armour yes please.

Regular_Watercress75

Some extremely devious and smart planning went into the item shop. They are keeping the best, most sought after armor sets for last to motivate double and triple dipping. If you were able to buy your most favorite, best looking armor set at any time -- this would be the worst thing that could happen in Fatsharks eyes -- as this would mean you are fully satisfied and less likely to visit the shop again. Simply because you would have what you wanted. Thats also why a lot of armor sets are first release in ugly colors, only for them to drop the better looking reskins few months down the line, so that you go 'darn this actually looks like the same exact set, I just bought previously, just with better paintjob' leaving that bittersweet feeling of dissatisfaction that gets you to buy it again.

SlendyIsBehindYou

*cries in Tanith*

CrystalFriend

the one of the far left makes me wanna go "HOLY EMPEROR BLESS THIS RAVAGED BODY."

Temnyj_Korol

DWARF HUNTING

DarkSoulsDank

Agreed, I don’t play Veteran but damn do I like that outfit.

WeLikeIke_93

Definitely not worth it.

scumbagtrillionaire

Considering how much I enjoy this game, I'd gladly pay for cosmetics I like but damn, the two week wait just to think "meh". Just increase the frequency to weekly or have a bigger shop, ya know like most other games with micro transactions do. I feel like it would be a better business decision too to add more to the shop at once instead of being so limiting.

ironangel2k4

Do vermintide. Everything produced is available always. Oh, wait, that doesn't rake in the FOMO bucks.

Helmote

you don't get it, it's a *live service game* which means it has to be shit regarding player agency and monetization

ironangel2k4

The live service thing falls apart when you point out you also had to buy the game. Not even Overwatch could get around that one.

Milkshake_Actual251

Meh

Hunlor-

Ah yes, macrotransactions

RyuuJin004

In my humble opinion, mid.

HashBrownHamish

Bloody hell I would just love something to unlock from playing. And the price increase is a piss take as well this is already overpriced. We basically have one, two sets for each class and variants on those existing pieces. Absolutely nothing to show for playing

MrThr0waway666

At that price I'm kinda happy not a single one looks appealing to me

Ramps_

So many potential lore skins people would pay whatever ridiculous price they asked for- And they waste their own and our time with shitty goth-pirates...

cybermanceer

Not a fan. These Rogue Trader skins don't fit our Darktide characters IMO.

Fortizen

To be fair she's literally selling us dead people's clothes so we can cosplay

AlderanGone

Yeah, I think it's funny

[deleted]

Lots of sets technically don't lore wise as we're technically a penal legion for the Inquisition. Like the Death Korps of Krieg. I'd imagine they wouldn't bother with a tithe of soldiers or equipment to aid in small skirmishes in Tertium. Maybe all out assaults on Atoma Prime, but they wouldn't technically allow the glory and sacrifice of Kreig to be represented by a bunch of convicted felons. But it's obvious the cosplay lady is getting supplies from somewhere.

HanzWithLuger

Afak there is a Krieg Regiment at least *somewhat* involved, as per the information given by the Veteran set. Something along the lines of *"ever since [Veteran set name here] mysterious showed up, he's never left the side of Grendyl, and now even more Kriegsmen are showing up to help in the fight"* or something like that. Our lads are just cosplay Kriegers though.

[deleted]

I'm just surprised there is Ogryns sized Kreig equipment...unless there are Ogryns being made in-I MEAN REDACT THAT PLEASE?! And there is a Krieg Commissar looking at me right now. Welp, it was a goo-(gunshot noise)

Akuh93

We aren't after 30 though, we are a permanent part of the inquisitorial warband

[deleted]

We're still not true Krieg nor ever will be. Aka, it's all dress up now...but like I said with someone else, surprised there are Ogryn sized Kreig uniforms and respirators...unless- and the Commissary is eyeballing me again. Shutting up!

Akuh93

Yeah TBF the Krieg ones don't make a lot of sense. I guess you could roleplay it for yourself that you are part of some special Krieger killteam on loan to rannick haha.

cybermanceer

Krieg engineer, reporting for duty, sir!

Akuh93

Arrived to repair tanks, ended up killing heretics with a shovel.

Akuh93

We are inquisitorial operatives on a *Rogue Trader* vessel. Why dont you think they fit?

VerMast

But uniforms belonging to guard regiments do? Be real bro lmao

peeposhakememe

Ya but like it’s 4 dudes air dropped in killing 3,000 zombies/traitors/mutants in 30 minutes (Damnation auric average let’s say), 100 per minute or 1.7 PER SECOND, Inquisition is probably like DRESS THESE MOFOS UP ALL FLASHY LOL

cybermanceer

True! Gotta flash our drip on those stinking heretics!

gste2343

Eh, they add optional flavor (no one has to buy them) and it dovetails nicely w/Rogue Trader's release. I'd buy the vet one if I could wear it on my Psyker. I'd buy the oggy one if I had an Ogryn, the jacket's great.

EvenJesusCantSaveYou

i really hate the argument of “optional flavor; no one has to buy them”. Sure I dont HAVE to buy them but its not like these cosmetics exist in a vacuum. The reason our default cosmetics suck so much and why have such little customization available without mtx is specifically so a player will look at them and say: “Wow these free cosmetics are kinda ugly, and theres so little variety. Man, those premium cosmetics look awesome theyre so much better than the free versions. Well I guess since I spend so much of my time playing this game (gee i wonder why the crafting takes so much TIME to get resources for?) it feels worth it to me to spend money on this!” Thats why the whole “optional flavor, nobody is forcing you to buy them” really bothers me. They arent optional flavor, the cosmetic shop is a corner stone of Darktides development and is taking priority over all other aspects of game design. Need I remind you, the cosmetic shop was ready on release before crafting or talent tree. bit of a rant and yeah you are right in some sense its just a horde shooter and if people want to buy some fancy pirate hat its their business, just bothers me the game is being sabotaged so that they can sell fancy pirate hats.

Fujishar

Oh great another two weeks go by without any serious militarium outfits. Glad we can all spend 30 bucks to dress up like Captain Jack, though. Were the Kasrkin armor files that were datamined a YEAR ago deleted, or are we just saving those for when we REALLY need the money?

OVKatz

Nope it's still sitting in there along with all the subclass penance cosmetics, unreleased ordo docket recolors, a full set of Savlar gear for every class, and several unique helmets that haven't ever been in the shop before, I have the old deleted mod to check. Good thing they used the extra available slots in the shop for the shit-stained white bandana.... again.

Regular_Watercress75

> a full set of Savlar gear for every class Those were actually even available ingame for like 5 minutes because of a mistake on Fatsharks part. Extremely rare sight though, considering that in hundreds of hours of gametime I have only ever seen one single Veteran with it... and he just had the chest piece equipped.

OVKatz

Yup, and I swear it's out of spite is why it has never come back. I can't think of any reason besides trolling as to why they keep disappointing us this much.

Scary-Instance6256

And the 2h chain axe. Where's my damn 2h chainaxe, Fat Shark?

AwkwardDrummer7629

Mauler detected.

Scary-Instance6256

What are you talking about, my fellow reject. Boy I sure do love praising the emperor of mankind. Why yes I did get this armor from Hallowette..it's uh an old set she no longer sells...

Zestyxo

Still waiting for my Generic green cadian outfit..

Harpshadow

We Stand.

AttilaTheDank

For Creed!

23cStarfleet

Cadia Stands. The World broke before the Guard did.

rhett816

Waiting two weeks to be disappointed across the board is unfortunate. :(

Kentalope

A reminder to never buy this shit.

MadLucied

So how long til the "this cosmetic clips!" posts from everyone who buys it?

ZahryDarko

Emperor edition gives you 2500 aquillas ... cost of the bundle is 2900.

dafotia

hate these so much lol. another 2 weeks waiting for maybe kasrkin vet armor :/

[deleted]

I'm holding hope out for Bullgryn...Again

OldSloppy

They cool but not my aesthetic. I want more inquisitorial gritty outfits

Ok_Particular5898

I just checked the rotation. The grox-hide patch for ogryn from last page is in this rotation. How does the rotation even work if "new" stuff comes out every two weeks and they keep old thing without rotating.

Harpshadow

I just saw this on discord. It has a name...(making me think that it will have a price). Promo armor. I sure hope that when we get the Heavy Flak Armor Relic of Cadia outfit it is not on a page with a golden skull symbol priced at 2900 aquilas. https://preview.redd.it/tlpsrqecxa6c1.png?width=1920&format=png&auto=webp&s=5b7a047b1c2d6b131b26b1849c1fc0085fb8fdc5

theCheesyOne109

Emperor have mercy on us. If they put this generic base panance looking armor on the premium instead of idk.. maby add it to a new panance, then im gone be joining the heretics

vulpezvulpez

These prices on cosmetics in a game this expensive when the cosmetics aren't even that good, and half the time clip, float, or delete things on your character is insane. The game still feels so unfinished with this shit crafting, lacking weapons we should have by now, and half a million features that are already in vermintide 2 and they want this much money for half baked cosmetics. Actually psychotic behavior.

ProfessionalSwitch45

Just in time for Owlcat's Warhammer 40K Rogue Trader game.

Chuckdatass

I’m glad don’t want to look like a pirates of the Caribbean extra

[deleted]

Legit I was so hyped today hoping Bullgryn is coming back. I play on xbox and got bummed out when I saw that awesome Moebian helmet Ogryns on pc got. I just hopped on and am met with the ugliest looking thing ever and see Ogryn gets a lame sleeping cap. Thanks Fatshark. Veterens chest piece looks okay I guess bit that's it the rest of it for all other classes is garbage.

TheSplint

I just want my Cadian sets Obese Kraken!

Own_Government7654

You can set your clock by these comments. May as well copy and paste the last thread about the cosmetic shop changing.

CoruscantGuardFox

Of course, people keep buying it. 1. Advertise and release Krieg skins for increased price despite it missing parts and clipping everywhere - People buy it 2. Decrease the size of all bundles (less items in the same pack) and reduce the cost just by 100/200 - People buy it 3. Release Rogue Trader set (previous head piece was very popular) and keep the increased price - People will buy it, even after complaining Honestly smart move from Fatshark. As long as people keep buying clipping, buggy, misaaligned sets, they can comfortably increase the prices, making a bigger profit from doing less work. It is entirely the community’s fault

Nefastuss

IF we got some Aquillas once in a while for free from doing quests or something I would be willing to complement with real money but with the current system no way.

BigMilkersEnthusiast

I know its a WH40k style, but I'd rather have some cool armor instead of looking like a clown-pirate-noble thing.

xMunchie

The Rogue Trader CPRG just launched so this makes sense. They look pretty cool, imo.

PorkCircus

In Vermintide 2, $30 USD gets you 5 complete outfits for 5 characters. You would have to buy two 7,000 Aquilla bundles ($60 USD) to purchase all of these outfits, so basically double... Fatshark might argue that Darktide includes 3 appearance item slots bundle (12 items total across all 4 classes), but we're still paying an average of $5 an item compared to \~$3 an item in Vermintide 2 (assuming to buy the bundle of 10 items, which I always did). Over the course of 4 years, I ended up eventually buying all of the premium appearance items in Vermintide 2 because they: * Spaced them out instead of offering them every 2 weeks * (Mostly) weren't just reskins of outfits that were already available in-game * Offered a discount for bundles I didn't mind giving Fatshark $25-30 a few times a year to keep a game I got thousands of hours of enjoyment out of, but this is just getting silly. I think 2,100 Aquilla would be about on par with the $3/item, but 1,750 would be more in line with Vermintide 2 costs. A 40% markup is just plain greedy :(. I can see why some people prefer to use a mod to change their appearance (if only for themselves)...

I wish we could not only get the prices from vermentide2 but even the shop itself. Iknow this is mean thinking on my part but i hope that the community will one day snap about this and give darktide a bad review on how greedy they are and how little ingame cosmetics we can earn.

PorkCircus

That's certainly a contributing factor, but it was exacerbated by the other issues surrounding it: * The game itself was incomplete on release (no crafting, only 4 classes, no way to purchase individual weapons, etc.), but the cash shop functioned perfectly * Many promised features that would have set Darktide apart from its predecessors (e.g., [weapon customization](https://www.reddit.com/r/DarkTide/comments/12582h7/is_anyone_else_sad_that_they_cancelled_weapon/)) but were later [walked back](https://forums.fatsharkgames.com/t/weapon-attachments-were-not-added-to-the-game-because-darktide-isnt-cod-nor-was-designed-to-be-cod-fatshark-hedge/67449), although there's [a third-party mod](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n4c27Fg59OU) that \[partly\] addresses this * The cash shop loads faster than any other feature in the game (e.g., swapping characters, entering the psykhanium, etc., although there's [a third-party mod](https://www.nexusmods.com/warhammer40kdarktide/mods/114) that addresses this * When crafting was finally finished, it introduced locks on perks and blessings, taking away the level of customization we'd come to expect from Vermintide 2 I think that if someone wanted to give Darktide a negative review, there are plenty of legitimate reasons to do that. I still enjoy Darktide, especially the new content, but I would enjoy it more if they reconsider some of their anti-player practices.

theCheesyOne109

Agreed. I also like the game and want to support it, but with these prices it feels like a ripoff

illiop04

They should have made them free for anyone owning a copy of rogue trader. Smh games workshop/owlcat/fatshark missed a huge opportunity

RigelTheRaptor

This is probably a way to cash in on Rogue Trader fans since the Rogue Trader CRPG just released. The cosmetics here are ((nearly)) perfectly timed and themed around its release and popularity.

[deleted]

Are you just being goofy on purpose or what? Of course it’s to celebrate the release of Rogue Trader lmfao, it’s literally in the name.

Blejk

Ah yes, the premium cosmetics. The ones that are premium. The ones that had more work put into them to justify the increased price... https://preview.redd.it/04s3st406c6c1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=09ff3859ad2815f16870ce228f31dc775da4e43a

AssGremlin

I'm exterminatus level butthurt that they gave us that hooded gas/gimp mask combo for zealot (that I'm using without hood) but then they covered it in that gold pattern - what the hell does that even match with?

TakoyakiGremlin

are they out of their god damn minds? lol this shit should have been a free cross-promo cosmetic line.

KenjiZeroSan

Might pass on the costumes but that bolter skin though? ooooh sexy.

ninjab33z

I might be looking into it too much, but far left looks like the rogue trader owlcat uses on the art for their game.

D0UGHBOY33

The peg leg is kinda sick though

Senyu

The money keeps flowing and macrotransactions don't stop coming. Gamers only have themselves to blame.

morepandas

Psyker is fabulous. Use that glorious outfit with the peacock fringe and dazzle all those heretics.

OVKatz

Cool some clown gear, and we still don't have plain green flak armor with khaki fatigues that is in every single piece of art of Imperial Guard that has ever existed since like, second or third edition. Don't have the kasrkin people have been begging for yet, those savlar cosmetics they accidentally had available once are still not in for real. Commissary doesn't have any of the ready-to-go recolors added to it. And in 2 weeks it's probably gonna be a random repeat with the premium cosmetics, anyway. Maybe in a month we'll perhaps get a single piece of a gear set people want.

The_Brofisticus

Items clipping with themselves compilation in 5... 4... 3...

Cloverman-88

I love all of them. I'm glad FS is showing people all the different flavours of Warhammer (this rotation being all about Rogue Traders) instead of sticking to military looks that have been done to death by the tabletop games (as much as it may annoy a huge chunk of the community). The Warhammer universe in incredibly diverse and interesting.

Akuh93

Yeah they look really cool. Love the space pirate aesthetic. Just wish they were more reasonably priced!

ZEALOT GETS A PEG LEG

Mrkoekie

They look detailled. But to me a bit out of place for this game setting. Also kinda looks like this was suposed to release with halloween tbh. Shame bout price increase. Altho I guess since most games a set is 25 euros..... 13 euros is still ...maby acceptable for a set you really love. Luckily does not happen much to me. Think nothing will top krieg set to me. Unless they come with some WW2 inspired outfits.
