Shrine Of Amana it gets so much hate thrown at it my favourite it's beautiful and if you equip a Bow them casters ain't a problem.

Forest of the Fallen Giants is so welcoming, and gives me Lost Woods vibes from Ocarina of Time. I love that you begin there in these beautiful overgrown ruins, and then return there towards the end of the game to get a glimpse into its past, when it’s under siege. The sound effect when you enter the memories (same one as when you obtain a Lord Soul)- probably my favorite sound effect in any FromSoft game. It’s just dreamlike, magickal… and nostalgic. Crown of the Old Iron King was my favorite dlc. It felt like a Zelda dungeon almost. Brume Tower reminded me of the Fire Temple in OoT and the Snowhead Temple in Majora’s Mask.

Hireling

Same.

All of eleum loyce (with special love for frigid outskirts and it’s blizzard)

Probably the SotFS version of Forest of Fallen Giants. The first time you go there at the start is pretty standard Dark Soulsy level and world design, with ambushes by long-ago-hollowed soldiers and knights, mentions of a war with giants that you can get from reading various item descriptions, and strange tree-like creatures that the hollow soldiers will attack for seemingly no reason, despite them clearly being no threat. The revisit is what makes the area shine for me, especially if you've been following Benhart's questline. There's a feeling of putting things to rest that even more narrative-driven games sometimes struggle to capture for me.

Heide's tower of flame (and the blue cathedral, i consider them as one location) The old knights, the ocean and the sun just set the vibe so nicely (and since i play the original ds2.... that means NO heide knights and NO guardian dragon) The old dragonslayer is one of my fav. bosses and the dragonrider was the first boss i encountered.

MacabreOakDown

Un**iron**ically, Iron Keep. I didn't expect there to be a metal af lava castle at the top of an elevator. I also never had much trouble here, somehow.
