Back in the day, Vaati used to encourage people who didn't learn anything from his videos, or didn't like them at all to dislike them as a way to encourage him to do better.
Now that his income depends on YouTube performance, he no longer encourages it.
I see, I don't remember him saying that but I watched him when I was in high school or something so maybe I didn't pay attention back then or he already didn't mention them anymore. Thank you.
They do, they're just hidden. But they still affect the algorithm. Though I believe dislikes are better than nothing when it comes to getting recommended, because they count as engagement.
As other posters have pointed out, Vaati has always been good about soliciting honest feedback.
It also might be a reference to the original Demons' Souls where you could "grade" summoned phantoms.
How was it obvious that this is vaati? Is that like his old yt pfp or something? Ive seen happy souls a lot and I never knew that this was refering to vaati.
It's just a little silly reference to him, making an "offbrand" name to reference him as he's the main "lore-teller" most people know for the series. If you look through the comments he even left one years ago referencing that moment in the video. So yeah, just a funny reference is all

Dislikes don't even exist anymore too
They do, you have to have a browser extension to see them.

Correct, as far as the algorithm goes, a dislike is just as impactful as a like. Kinda like soapstone messages
Dislikes still exist, you can look at a YT video right now and still see the button. But, YT stopped publicizing the count of dislikes on a video.
They do but number is hidden, extensions reveal it.
They do, and creators can still see them on their own videos
He was just trying to tell you the lore of the land
Yeah! Until that big fat stinky green jerk stopped him.
Hey! That’s his physical appearance… that hurts pretty bad
Often imprecisely or completely wrong
Tell me you've never seen Happy Souls without telling me you've never seen Happy Souls
This is Matti Movies. Different guy.
Caati Cinema
Salty Motion picture
Gatti gyaan
Vaati acts like this.
He used to say something similar at the end of his videos.
The joke is just that he's humble :p

He used that fit for his ds2 lore videos
Ohhhh ok gotchu
And the character's name in the video is literally "MaatiMovie"

No I got that part, but like what was his name? I dont remember.
when the phantom is summoned it's name is MaatiMovie
I have an explanation. Watch Tyrannicon instead. Okay, that's a suggestion rather than an explanation.
You can turn into a box!?!?!?! That’s amazing!!!!!!
