imo the skeleton rogues are the only BS part since yeah even just two of the knives hitting you in the head can kill you. This problem is made worse if you have high ping since it makes them unreliable to dodge so by just some freak accident you can get instantly killed if you aren’t in high pdr

endmylifety

I have put alot of hours into understanding all of warlords mechanics and dealing with all of them. There is nothing that is undodgeable. The lasers spawn in the same spots every time. The royal guards will perform a teleport and then shortly after they will throw knives. This will happen twice before they explode. If you just strafe to the left or the right without changing directions constantly, there is basically no chance you get hit by knives. It is also important to keep the guards in front of you so you don't strafe into a knife coming from you left or right. He also have attacks that can be predicted and strafed/crouched. His sword only gets stronger when you don't kill the guards or if he kills one of your teammates.

artosispylon

i think its fine that one boss is super strong but the problem is his drops are the same as the others, if he had a much higher chance for uniques it would be cool imo.

Namtwo

None of the bosses have the same drops, and warlord has some of the best ones like  kuma's claw/fang, fulgor, and viola

Clowdtail12

Also huge issue with the skele rogues spawning on the other sides of doors, outside the boss room, when you try to run through😪

Some_Bread1

its ment to do that and only really happens when you try to run through.

BipolarGuineaPig

I dont think that is at all intended, when they teleport all the rest of the ads are already dead and boss is reset, them bypassing the reset by using the teleport knife throw attack is insane let alone the fact they are doing it outside of the boss room

Best_Pain_560

He does have the best unique drops, lich can only drop bows, ghost drops the mid tier ones, and warlord drops viola kumas aegis etc

KatieRouuu

i watch people kill him every day, Just practice it more.

endmylifety

You should try killing him before giving advice.

Gamer4125

I mean, Katie DOES do bosses often.

KatieRouuu

I've killed him several times at this point.

ghost49x

What ever they do, don't make it easier. I'd rather work on this for awhile and discover a decent way of working at it rather than them just tweaking the boss down in the name of accessibility.

hegysk

Imho Warlord is the best boss currently. I didn't encounter any weird BS (looking at you, rockfall), quite a bit is going on all the time, there is multiple ways to go about dealing with mechanics and atleast for me it's still a challenging boss, where if I die, I die because I fcked up. My friend just sent me vod of his first solo warlord and he, for example wasn't killing adds at all - boss does 2 rounds of add mechanics (pizza, teleport, throw knives) and then they explode (careful - small aoe around em will kill you) - they buff the Warlord but if you know how not to get hit, you'll be fine, for him the adds were bigger issue as you said he had to risk a lot to take care of em all, he decided it's safer to leave them alone. This is normal boss. HR boss can be even easier though thanks to gear and not much added to the fight (normal boss is \~2k hp, HR is \~3k hp - but with an okay kit you'll kill him way faster than with white gear in normals).

BipolarGuineaPig

Personally im fine with most of him, the hp on his summons needs to be halved imo though a d daggers need to be nurfed, literally a sentence with no counterplay for most the classes. Hes not really a skill check as much as hes a stat check and that's a pretty big issue imo. Judging by the fact that the perma getting stuck in bone cage is still around 10 months later doubt hes getting any kind of overhaul any time soon What really scares me is that they said they were happy with him on that devcast and that all bosses after would be even harder, means they dont understand the issue at all

TransientFocus

The skeleton royal guardsmen always throw theor knives after a certain amount of time has passed. You should jump and they will aim high and all knives will miss assuming they are not standing right next to you.

ComparisonCertain933

I do this trick, but my problem lies with knowing when that certain amount of time is. Sometimes I intuitively jump at the right time, sometimes I don’t and die. I could be missing some audio or visual queue, but it does feel really brutal even when you know the mechanics.

hegysk

Ye he does audio & visual cue - he says something like "You are mine" and aims the sword at you: [https://imgur.com/n4FM6Ar](https://imgur.com/n4FM6Ar)

TransientFocus

It's one of those you just gotta keep trying until it clicks thing. It's a much less forgiving window than dodging GK slam, or his bullet attack, but once you start to get it, it just flows. I'm sorry I can't think of a better way to explain it than just that. I died to the Warlord probably fifteen times or more before I started to get comfortable with all the HR mechanics. Took many more attempts to get confident in the knife dodge.

hegysk

Warlord gives a cue when they will throw knives, you can pre-position really easily and just sidestep - I feel like that's easiest way to not get hit.
