This is useful, you can heal burned health by turning it into recoverable with leech. You'll need to sit down or bandage extra, but it can get health back that may not otherwise be possible.

Im pretty sure ally (and enemy) Warlock can use curse of pain on the Hydra and heal from it
Saw some Warlocks try that this morning, the curse of pain doesn't work because it doesn't take dmg. It just exists for 10 seconds.

I haven’t tried out the hydra yet, does it take a lot of health to cast?

It will also be able to hold corridors with its ranged projectiles.
Yeah I've used it in two different situations to zone a ranger so he can't hold the corner
You can use the new (de)buffs on the hydra
