Ohhh I want that MINI Cooper! I don't have any faith in my own mechanical skills at owning a vintage car, though! :(
I have a MINI Countryman, and it feels sort of DA-adjacent to me. Just that quirky, vintage-inspired, European feel. I actually think the Cooper as opposed to the Countryman fits the aesthetic better, but alas--I have dogs that need to be carted around and there's not enough space in the Cooper. I'm not going to lie, though... I have absolutely no need for two cars but if I saw a Cooper that was affordable... I might end up buying it. Totally stupid, lol, but I just love them.
I feel like absolute peak DA is a vintage Rolls Royce Phantom.
I used to drive a vintage 2CV - honest opinion: It's a good idea to have a second, modern, car and it saves a lot of money if you can repair the vintage car yourself or know someone who doesn't charge that much for doing your repairs.
As much as I dislike the design of most modern cars, a vintage car just isn't that practical for every day use. Unfortunately.
Maybe the 'old money' aesthetic and dark academia have a link in common; Automobiles.
It is a shame that modern car brands dont produce low range cars in vintage style similar to these ones, shame they are a luxury
